CARS.COM — Jeep is taking its compact SUV in a new direction for 2018; the Compass is going global. The automaker today unveiled the next-generation Compass at an event at its assembly plant in Goiana, Brazil, touting the new model’s 17 powertrain options and worldwide availability in more than 100 countries.
Outside, the new Compass looks like a mini Grand Cherokee, borrowing styling elements from the larger SUV in both front and back. Details are slim, but Jeep promises the new model will offer best-in-class off-road capability, fuel-efficient powertrains, a host of advanced safety features as well as a dose of “open-air freedom.”
The new Compass will make its debut at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show in November, and it will go on sale in early 2017.
