Back in June, more than 82,200 Kia K5 sedans were recalled over an issue with the parking lights. Now, the sedan is being recalled again, this time for window trim that may detach. More than 100,000 examples of the vehicle are affected.
Affected vehicles include model-year 2023-25 K5s. The issue is with the left and right rear window C-pillar trim pieces, which may loosen and fall off, creating a road hazard for other drivers and increasing the risk of a crash.
As a fix, dealers will replace the C-pillar trim assemblies, as necessary, for free. Kia will notify owners Sept. 26, but those with further questions can contact the brand at 800-333-4542 (Kia’s number for this recall is SC346), call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
