We’re getting our first official, uncamouflaged look at the upcoming McLaren GT (or at least part of it), which the automaker says will “redefine the rules of Grand Touring.” Apparently, there are rules now? What McLaren claims to be building is a comfortable, luxurious car that still maintains the marque’s famous performance standards. The “superlight Grand Tourer” has also completed a 1,000-mile trip from Barcelona, Spain, to Woking, England, with two occupants and all of their luggage — the type of journey befitting a grand tourer.

More From Cars.com:

The GT will join the rest of McLaren’s lineup alongside its Sports and Super series models as an individual model separate from either of those classifications. It will be powered by a twin-turbocharged V-8, though power figures are yet to be specified. The GT will be revealed in full on May 15, and we’ll have all the details for you after that.
