Affected vehicles include model-year 2021-22 S500 and Maybach S580s, model-year 2021-23 S580s, model-year 2022 S680s and model-year 2023 S580es. The front brake hoses may rupture and leak brake fluid, which can extend stopping distances, increasing the risk of a crash.
Mercedes-Benz will replace the front brake hoses for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 25. Owners with questions in the meantime can contact the automaker at 800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
