Stellantis’ latest recall involves a rollaway risk and affects the final generation of the Dodge Dart sedan (Stellantis is Dodge’s parent company). Some 298,000-plus examples are affected.
Affected vehicles include model-year 2013-16 Darts. The shifter cable in these cars may detach from the transmission and prevent the vehicle from shifting into Park, increasing the risk of a rollaway.
This recall follows up on a previous one from 2019, and those vehicles will need to have the new remedy completed; however, the remedy is currently under development. Interim letters notifying owners of the issue are expected to be mailed Nov. 6; a second letter will be sent out once a remedy is available. Those with further questions can contact Stellantis at 800-853-1403 (Stellantis’ number for this recall is A0C), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
