Stellantis’ latest recall affects more than 91,700 examples of its Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid SUV and involves a software issue that may cause a loss of drive power. (Jeep is a Stellantis brand.)
Affected vehicles include model-year 2022-26 Grand Cherokee 4xes. A software error within the hybrid control processor may result in the loss of propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash.
Currently, there’s no remedy, but it is under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Oct. 23; in the meantime, owners with further questions may contact the automaker at 800-853-1403 (Stellantis’ number for this recall is 73C), the National Traffic Safety Administration vehicle-safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236, or visit the NHTSA website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
