CARS.COM — Remember the movie Twins? I’ll spare you my 3,000-word analysis, but the gist is that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito play fraternal twins separated at birth. One finds the other, hijinks ensue and important lessons are learned.
That’s already too many words about the movie. We’re here to discuss my claim that a Rolls-Royce Ghost or Wraith — excuse me, a special edition Rolls-Royce Ghost or Wraith — and a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon are related. The evidence against this is very strong: The two vehicles are made by entirely unaffiliated manufacturers in two different countries, and they could not be less alike in intended function. The Rolls carries its occupants in the height of luxurious comfort, while the Jeep’s autobiography is “ME CLIMB ROCKS GOOD” scribbled in crayon.
My rebuttal: Look at those wheels, though! That’s more than a passing resemblance. If Arnold and Danny can even somewhat believably portray siblings, then there’s a chance that these two wildly different vehicles really are related.
I want to believe that somewhere in Goodwood, a Ghost and a Wrangler are sitting next to each other in a garage.
