Coronavirus and Cars: Volkswagen, Audi Extend Warranty Plans
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact just about every aspect of life, some automakers are continuing to support customers with new initiatives designed to provide both financial relief and peace of mind. Volkswagen today announced a warranty extension plan on top of its current financing incentives and payment deferral options, while VW subsidiary Audi also announced a warranty extension plan.

VW is extending its New Vehicle Limited Warranty and its Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty by an additional three months on all vehicles for which coverage would have ended between March 1 and May 31, 2020. Audi’s plan is identical. For example, if your warranty expired on April 20, it will automatically be extended until July 20; vehicle owners don’t need to take any action to be eligible for the extension.
The offer applies to owners of new and certified pre-owned Volkswagen and Audi vehicles, but if the vehicle’s warranty expires due to mileage rather than time, no extension will be provided.
