As sales have fallen off a cliff, Volvo dealers have convinced corporate headquarters to bring back its free maintenance program.

Last seen in 2006, Volvo will once again offer free maintenance for the first three years or 36,000 miles for all 2009 models. The automaker hopes that this will lead customers to choose Volvo over the competition. Three years of free scheduled maintenance is a decent incentive.

Other automakers with free maintenance programs for 2009 models include BMW, Land Rover and Saab. Volkswagen is now offering the free perk for its ’09 models.
