The automaker hasn’t released details about the new SUV, but we do know it will ride on Volvo’s new global Compact Modular Architecture platform and that the first vehicle to use the new platform will launch sometime in 2017. The XC40 will likely have a hybrid variant; Volvo has said that the CMA platform has been designed “to embrace electrification — offering a new Twin Engine plug-in hybrid variant designed especially for the new architecture.”

Stay tuned for more. Volvo will unveil more details of the concept next week.
