We Bought a 2019 Genesis G70: Video

Cars.com’s Editorial team was so impressed with the 2019 Genesis G70> that we gave it our Best of 2019 award … and then we bought one, as we’ve done with each of our winners in the last 10 years. Our editors are going to put the luxury sedan to the test during a full year of evaluating and driving, reporting on its hits and misses at every turn.

The G70 combines loads of driving fun and plush luxury accoutrements with practicality and value — two surprises in the compact luxury sedan class. We purchased an all-wheel-drive G70 with the bigger engine, the turbocharged 3.3-liter V-6.

The choices didn’t end there however. We chose the Prestige trim of the G70, replete with goodies like quilted Nappa leather seats and surfaces, heated and cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, 18-inch alloy wheels with Brembo brakes and a sport-tuned suspension. Our total clocked in at just above $51,000.
During our year with the G70, we’re looking forward to pitting it against luxury class stalwarts like the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4. Watch the video for more details on our new long-term test car.
