The COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone, and automakers are not immune. But that doesn’t mean that the lineup from Ram, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ truck-focused brand, isn’t getting some updates for 2021. Here’s everything we know about what’s new with Ram for the 2021 model year:
2021 Ram 1500
The biggest news for Ram involves the brand’s full-size truck, the Ram 1500. For 2021, a new TRX trim level joins the lineup. While the pickup truck’s focus has always been utility, this model focuses on power and speed with a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine that makes an astounding 702 horsepower and 650 pounds-feet of torque. Ram says the truck can rocket from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, and it estimates a top speed of 118 mph. The model also gets a special suspension for high-speed off-road driving, along with new wheels and tires.
Updates elsewhere to the Ram 1500 lineup include a new Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition featuring a Mountain Brown interior color design, berber carpet and metal pedals. A full-color head-up display, rearview camera mirror, Trailer Reverse Steering Control and a snow plow-prep package are also available.
2021 Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty
The Ram 2500/3500 models see only minor changes for the new year. The biggest is the addition of the Limited Night Edition. It adds monochromatic exterior elements, including 20-inch black wheels, grilles and badging. It’s available on Ram heavy-duty models in a variety of body colors.
Meanwhile, a new 75th Anniversary version joins the Power Wagon lineup. It adds a unique grille, 75th Anniversary badges, 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels and a premium leather interior. It comes in 11 exterior colors, including two new unique colors: Molten Orange and Anvil Gray.
2021 Ram ProMaster
Ram’s full-size commercial van continues into the 2021 model year with newly available safety features. Among them are forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection, and a camera-based rearview mirror. Crosswind Assist, which helps improve stability during — you guessed it — crosswinds, is now standard.
2021 Ram ProMaster City
Ram’s compact commercial van sees minor feature additions for 2021. On ProMaster City Tradesman and Wagon models, foglamps are now available. Also, aluminum wheels are now available on Tradesman models.
