I was looking for an “extra car” for the family as most of us drive cars with over 100,000 miles on them…and we often need a vehicle when one of them is in the shop for repairs. Thank you Stone Cars, for listing on Craigslist! I found on Stone Cars Craigslist listing a ONE OWNER, 19 year old Subaru Forester, for a BIT of a high price, that was immaculate and incredibly clean. This car is perfect for what we were looking for. Extremely low mileage for its age, at 128,456! The Stone Brothers know how to pick their quality inventory, that’s for sure. Gary was straight-forward about the car. I offered to overnight a check to them to hold the car, but he refused. He said “We don’t do business until the prospective buyer has DRIVEN the car. Awesome. Just truly a straight-up buying experience. I got a One-owner creampuff that will be in our family for many years. Thank you, Gary and Doug. You two just keep doing what you are doing.

GREAT EXPERIENCE. I agree with the words most of the reviewers have given here. Gary isn't like most used car dealers. He seems to genuinely care about his customers and the cars he's offering them. He's been in business at this Raleigh location for many years (20, I think). All of the cars he's offering are in the best shape and so highly detailed you'd think they were brand new. His prices are really reasonable and his doc fees are lower than most and yet the actual purchase (with all the paperwork, etc.) was handled so efficiently that it was easier for me than ever before. And I love the car I bought. Thanks, Gary

Our family of 4 (soon to be 5) found a van at Stone Cars that we were very interested in. It had already been on their lot for several weeks. Gary was friendly and did a great job answering our questions. We were serious enough to pay to have it checked out by a mechanic Gary recommended. Gary would not let us take it there. He insisted on driving it himself. The mechanic took a couple of days to get back with us due to phone difficulties on his end. By that point it was the weekend and Stone Cars was closed. I called Gary first thing Monday morning to ask if we could come see the van again on Thursday (the only day we were able to get a sitter for the kids). I spent Wednesday getting insurance quotes and finalizing the loan details with our bank. That evening Gary called to say his brother had sold the van to someone on Tuesday. We were devastated. He explained that he couldn't hold cars for people. No apology was offered. I never had any expectation that he hold the van for us. I did expect them to at least give us a courtesy call if another seller showed up, especially since we had already spent money getting an inspection done. At no point did Gary ever warn us that they would immediately sell the car to someone else without contacting us first. At least give us a chance to buy the car we just paid to have checked out! Apparently, they couldn't be bothered. Either the brothers did not communicate with each other, or they cared more about making the sale than about doing the right thing by a customer. Surprisingly poor treatment from a local dealer. We were very excited about buying what looked to be a great van, but were disappointed to find that even small local dealers are capable of treating their customers just as poorly as the large ones. We'll be looking elsewhere for a van, preferably a business that is capable of extending simple courtesy to their customers.

Easy and professional transaction. We live in NH and flew in to NC to pick up car. The car, a 2013 Suburban, was ready with a temporary plate. We signed a couple of papers and went on our way.

My sister and I both needed cars within the same month and we both bought them here. All of their cars are amazing quality and anything you buy from them is definitely in good condition and reliable. They also make the buying process really easy and they're extremely helpful. I've recommended them to everyone I know.

This dealership typically has good quality local trades BUT you will pay top dollar for their cars. They also will ride with you on the test drive saying their insurance will not them give you a test drive without them being present. This is BS. All other independent dealerships let a customer drive the car alone. In the event it was true, then get new insurance. Also, in 2018 they had advertised a car, then after 3 weeks or so they lowered the price, then when I went to buy it they said they could not sell it that low. It was just 500 lower. Good clean top dollar crs with a high dealer fee. Just know what your dealing with.

I love this dealership. I wanted a TSX and the rest had been terrible on other lots and a lot more expensive. I brought my mechanic with me and he gave the thumbs up. The first thing you'll notice is how clean the cars are, my interior was amazing!! Super nice people. Guess where my next car will come from!!!!

Bought a Honda from them back in September. Searched many car lots and these guys are the best - bar none!!! They have the best one owner, low mileage, non-smoker, cosmetically & mechanically maintained vehicles you will find. We will be back when we need another vehicle. No pressure and got a great price on the vehicle!! You guys are great!!! Thanks!!
