I have bought 4 Kia Souls in town through the years, and
I have bought 4 Kia Souls in town through the years, and only with my last vehicle purchased have I had consistent issues with the service department. That's not to say that everyone at Warner Kia is a bad employee - I have had positive experiences. However, this is the first time that I have had a vehicle under warranty that required service beyond scheduled maintenance. Six months ago, my check engine light came on, and I immediately called to let them know, providing the P1028 code my code reader detected. I inquired about an appointment but was told they were too busy, and I would have to wait two months. Despite asking if it was safe to drive and being promised a callback from the service department, which never happened, I had to wait. After a couple of weeks with no response, I called again, only to receive the same promise of a callback that never materialized. Luckily, the check engine light went off, and I canceled the appointment, thinking it might have been a fluke. However, a month later, the light came back on and stayed on. When I called to schedule another appointment, I was given a three-month wait and the same "too busy" excuse. I explained the recurring P1028 code, but they seemed uninterested. As time passed, I noticed the light would come on when the weather warmed up and go off during cold snaps for a few days. Unfortunately, my appointment today has coincided with a cold snap, and the light was off. To my shock, they acted as if I had never reported the issue and claimed they couldn't help if the check engine light wasn't on, despite my repeated calls about the intermittent nature of the problem. No notes on my account referenced the times I called or my original canceled appointment. They questioned whether I had received a code at all and claimed their diagnostics showed no issues, asserting that every check engine light is stored in the car's computer. Furious, I suspected they were stalling until my warranty expired, which was only 500 miles away. If I was going to make up a code for free work, it surely wouldn't have been the thermostat code. I told them they were waiting for my warranty to run out, which is why I kept getting brushed off. I got my car and kept thinking about why I was getting the code and the check engine light was on, but it wasn't stored in the computer like the service department told me. Upon further research, I discovered that codes can sometimes be in a "pending" state, prompting technicians to clear them to see if they reappear. When I got home, I plugged in my code reader and, sure enough, the P1028 code was there. That leads me to believe that since the check engine light wasn’t on they didn’t even check the diagnostics. Initially, I thought I would never buy a Kia again. However, after speaking with Kia Corporate, who documented everything and assured me of recourse if the dealership's negligence caused issues, I realized the problem lies not with the Kia Soul itself, which is a solid, safe, and reliable car with a good price point, but with the culture at Warner Kia. While I will never purchase another vehicle from this dealership, I may give the one in Albany, GA, a try. In the future, I'm going to pay more attention to the ratings people give when they actually have an issue and are not getting scheduled maintenance or any recall from the company.

I made two appointments with the dealership's service department because of a P1028 code and my check engine light being on. However, when I got there, no one knew what I was talking about. I did speak with the service manager (despite me making the appointments specifically for that issue) and he claimed my check engine light was never on because he said they would have seen the code. After months of going back and forth, with the service department essentially blowing me off, I let the service manager know I was furious. I feel like they were intentionally dragging their feet since we are close to the end of our warranty. The manager accused me of not trusting him (which I do not) and said if I couldn’t trust him then I could take my car elsewhere before abruptly ending the conversation. This entire experience has really shaken my trust in your service department. I have been a customer for 14 years with Kia. I realize Werner bought the franchise recently, but I can say with confidence this would have never had happened with the previous owners. I had called and explained the code multiple times, but now they insist on only helping when the check engine light is physically on. Why couldn't they just look at the stored code when I brought it in? I sent a photo of the P1028 code to corporate because when I got home and used my code reader the error code was still there. Kia corporate called the service department twice, that I know of, but didn't get a response despite leaving our case number. I went to O'Reilly's Auto Parts today after explaining my ordeal to a friend. They told me most parts stores will scan your car for free. Their staff was incredibly helpful, explaining that older code readers can sometimes detect stored codes better than newer ones after the check engine light goes off. The employee advised me to come back as soon as the light turns on again so they can get me a printout, noting this is a common issue they routinely assist with. O'Reilly's on Apalachee Parkway provided stellar service and helpful information that I never received from your dealership - and I wasn't even a paying customer there! It's shocking how much better their customer service was compared to a dealership I have had a long-term relationship with.

My vehicle gear shift was locked on my 2020 Telluride. The windows, door locks, trunk, wipers and several other components didn’t work. I took it in to determine the problem and after troubleshooting it was determined that rodents had damaged the harnesses. Mario Rodriquez and the Service Manager Steve was able to provide me a loaner while they made the necessary repairs. They were diligent in keeping me posted along the way. This is what real Customer Service is all about. Taking care of your customers and they will continue to patronize and promote your business to their family and friends. Thank you Mario and Steve. I am giving 5 stars due to the excellent customer service I received from Cornelius Thompson. He went above and beyond to make sure I was happy! As for the scheduling of appointments is absolutely ridiculous when it comes to the actual company not this franchise. They overbook the technicians especially for recalls and wait time is much longer than expected, at not fault to this dealership. As far as the customer lounge and outside appearance this dealership it could definitely benefit from some updates. The snacks, coffee and massage chairs are a nice treat when waiting!
