Beware of dishonest practices

I took my 2020 BMW X4 to them inquiring about them purchasing it from me. They gave me a number and told me it would be the same whether I traded or sold them the car. After working the numbers on a new car, I opted for them to buy it outright. The salesman told me that the manager Patrick was gone for the day and that they would contact me the next day to finalize the transaction. When the next day comes, they call and say that they don't really need the car and that they will still take it but are going to give me $1,000 less. The worst part of this is that they are selling this year, make, model car for ~$50K and were only offering me $40K to begin with. A $10,000 profit isn't enough? GREED

My experience with this dealership was seamless, professional and amazing. Shoutout to Tim, Janine, Sunny and Jim for making the process effortless. My custom build X4m40i was delivered on time. The BMW family over there is a pleasure to work with. Here is where my business lies as long as I drive BMW.

I did not have a good sales experience here. Perhaps there is a good explanation, but I came away with the impression that they were disingenuous; the finance manager came across aggressive and downright dishonest. He quoted me $300+ OVER MSRP on the extended maintenance plan. When I pointed out that the BMW website showed a lower MSRP for the specific VIN, he said the website was WRONG. Interesting response. I feel that he initially misrepresented the extended warranty as a BMW warranty. I was able to determine that this car missed a certain recommended service, thus invalidating it to be re-characterized as certified pre-owned, and made it ineligible for BMW extended warranty. He minimized every concern I had -- "oh that service is just replacing the oil and filter..." I was pretty far down the process of purchasing a used 2021 with 5,500 miles. The CarFax indicated it had been in an accident and that an inspection by a collision repair specialist was recommended. When I asked the client advisor about this, her response that it was no big deal, that the car was virtually new, and CarFax reports are often inaccurate; that perhaps it was just minor damage. I asked if the condition of the car could be memorialized on the purchase agreement. The client advisor said there was no reason to do that. I get all of the official paperwork and see that AS IS is written on the purchase agreement. They ask me to sign off on the CarFax report in four different places that noted damage was reported. When I asked the finance manager about this, he said it was customary and everything is fine with the car, and I didn't have to sign if I didn't want to since our phone call was being recorded (call being recorded was not disclosed to me ahead of time, which is illegal), so he already has proof that I know about the damage, so I didn't need to sign the CarFax. I pressed him on what "AS IS" meant and said I was concerned that if there were mechanical and structural damage, the only thing I had to rely on was this paperwork. When he couldn't produce a response, he said "I don't know anything about the car, I just prepare the paperwork." When confronted with specific questions on the mechanical and structural condition of the car, they responded by email to tell me that it wasn't in my best interest to purchase the car.

BEWARE! Came here on June 24th and decided to lease a new X1 and was given a fairly good deal for the car. I paid a deposit of almost $3400 and was told I was approved but needed to come in the next day to finalize paper work. Once I arrived the numbers were different and they wanted more money down and an increase of my monthly payment. I was greeted very rudely by the sales manager sonny. He told me that this car “is a gold mine” and if I didn’t want to pay more he would “sell it to someone else for much more money” I felt very insulted and that this was highly unprofessional so I decided to walk away from the deal. I signed a refund form two weeks ago and left. To this date I still have not received a refund and every time I call I keep getting transferred to voicemails because nobody will take my call. This is not only highly unprofessional but BAD business practice. I would strongly suggest going to another dealership. 0 stars do not recommend.

Avoid this dealer at all costs

My wife and I purchased a car from Orange County BMW on 2/28/2021. We are out of state buyers and took every step to do our due diligence the correct way before signing paperwork. When asked for new photos of the vehicle, I was told that the vehicle's photos had been taken recently and that snow on the ground made taking photos in that moment a challenge. I was told the vehicle I purchased was a demo that the owner of Orange County BMW was driving and had recently turned in and was assured that as a Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle, it was well taken care of and was free of any damage history or paint work. The Carfax was indeed clean and this was billed as a clean “no stories” car. My wife and I completed the purchase and the vehicle was delivered in short order by the delivery team Tim Tansen at Orange County BMW selected (They were amazing and were truly the highlight of this purchase). Upon further inspection of the vehicle, it was determined that the right fender and front bumper had both been repainted and the quality of the repaint was poor to boot. The clear coat was failing (Flaking) off in areas because the painter did not shoot the clearcoat to a clean edge, but rather attempted to “spot the clear” in AND there was trash in the paint beneath the clearcoat which indicates an unclean paint room. In short, the person who did this paint work did a poor hack job and passed it off as good. I contacted Orange County BMW immediately and was initially told that they had no knowledge of the paint work, but they did acknowledge that my paint depth meter clearly showed evidence of it and would be reviewing with leadership to get back to me. It’s been over a month and several phone calls and emails have been sent to Orange County BMW with no response. Their way of making this right is to ignore their customer until they go away out of aggravation but that won’t be happening with us! In addition to the above horrible experience, I still have not received the documentation necessary to register my car! It’s been over a month and my car is not registered. Per state law, I am in violation and cannot drive the car until the vehicle is registered. I emailed the dealership and CC’d BMW NA this morning and received a prompt response that the registration paperwork was waiting on me at the DMV… In reality, they’ve sent it to a DMV in a different county DESPITE the fact that I gave them the mailing address for the correct DMV in my county on 2 separate occasions. This is a dealership that makes blunder after blunder and then gaslights the customer into thinking THEY are the issue. When that doesn’t work, they just ignore you and hope you’ll go away. Please buy your BMW from anywhere else but here. It looks like we may have to contact the Attorney General of NY to even get someone to follow up with us regarding the shoddy paint work to our vehicle.

I have been leasing there for the past 3 years. There are not always loaners available so you can make an appt and then they cancel at the last minute. Also very shady dealing about what is covered. I had 20,000 miles on my tires & they told me they needed replacement & I had to pay. Be careful here... After your purchase you are buying reliable, honest service!
