Dave is a scam artist. Lied about all aspects of the car. Motor was not rebuilt, transmission was not rebuilt, the rear differential had not been rebuilt. None of the gauges worked properly and the whole experience was a joke. Purchased the car off Ebay and after a lot of time and money, the car is the way it should have been in the first place. Stay away from MASS AUTO OUTLET.

Even after reading the negative reviews that described the sales person as rude, I went to look at a specific truck. Within seconds of my trying to describe the vehicle by make, model, year and VIN, so he could look it up, he demanded to know the color. I didn't know it, which escalated his rudeness. He's sitting at his computer saying he doesn't know what car I'm describing. Imagine, I didn't get through identifying the vehicle before he started. I told him we were done, that the reviews I'd read were right and walked out. He pursued me and found my wife who had found vehicle in question. I told my wife we're leaving. Naturally she was confused. It only took a few seconds for her confusion to end. He actually stepped in front of her as she made her way, going around him, to me and our car.

Dealer response

Customer-X enters the office looking at and reading from internet ad from his phone. The following conversation ensued. ++ Start of 25 second interaction ===================== "Do ya have a 2012 Toyota Tundra?" (He ID'ed truck! 1st sentence) "Yes, what color is it?" (Next logical identifying feature). "Oh, you have more than 1 ?" "Yes, we have more than 1" (4 in stock - 2 white, 1 green, 1 black ) "What color is the truck you are looking for?" no response. "Can I see the ad you are reading from on your phone?" no response. Customer-X without answering either question, turns away and hurls a personal insult at me. I walked out the service exit door. I see a different customer-A looking at one of the Toyota pickup trucks, alone. As I approached customer-A, customer-X from inside a car barks out the following order. "don't talk with him, we are leaving!" As customer-A walked toward the car, I said to customer-X, "look your better half found the truck, its dark GREEN!" ++End of the entire 1 minute experience. ========== Epilogue: Since this review is personal and not product related - the following rebuttal is in order. I established this business in 1997 - 25+ years at the same location. I'm the owner, the buyer, the salesman, the service manager, the accountant, the secretary, personnel manager, complaint department manager, etc. Most of that time, I worked 6-7 days a week, through thick and thin. On average, 12 customers/day visit my office, more or less. Conservatively, I have personally met 90,000 potential buying customers. That is to say, 90,000, one on one interactions over the past 25+ years. The opportunity to meet that many people is the best part of my work. I like to think, the vast majority of the 90,000 customers had a positive experience. Could I do better? I think maybe not,... STAY AWAY!! A scam of a place. Sold me a car that was within warranty and lemon car and then played around with fixing it telling me that it's my fault! Tried telling me its not his problem if the car is defective because he has a lot of cars there. Now I have a completely damaged car that gets worse by the day. DONT BUY FROM HIM. He is a lying scoundrel who admitted to the Attorney Generals office that he knew something was wrong with the car after I filed a complaint.

If you're looking for a straight straight shooter than you need to go see Dave at Mass Auto Outlet. Find your car on the lot, take it for a drive. If you like it, buy it. If you don't keep looking. I bought my truck from Dave and it had a few little things and a few bigger than little things. Every time I brought them to his attention he said, "no problem, we;ll take care of it" and he did. As promised. Financed me, too. Not crazy about the rate, but rebuilding my credit. Got a great truck with low miles for a great price. I would recommend just about anyone looking for a good used vehicle to go see him.

Before making a 2 hour trip I spoke with Dave. His first question to me is asking if I need financing. After reading up on common engine problems with the vehicle I was thinking of purchasing I asked if Dave had any service records. His response was “ weare a used car dealer these cars don’t come with a bible”. Knowing that the spark plugs in these cars have been known to seize and break I asked if they have been changed. Dave offeredto check that with his mechanic but then quickly asked if I needed financing because he didn’t want to go checking spark plugs to find out I had bad credit. I told him that he was being rude and I was just asking basic questions. Dave’s response before I hung up was “ you live 2 hours away maybe you should keep your business there”.

Dealer response

The other side of this 2 minute call. The CALLER INQUIRY: 1) He was concerned about distance and financing. 2) caller said he researched a spark plug problem with this make and model 3) past service records The DEALER RESPONSE: 1) Since he said he was 2 hours away, and he said he needed financing, I quite naturally offered to qualify him over the phone. 2) I offered to remove all the plugs and send him pictures as proof of NO ceasing problem. (notice how the caller changed my statement to fit his childish narrative) 3) I made it clear there were no service records. Using a common phrase - the bible reference. The caller hung the phone up - who is the rude actor? You be the judge. I wish you the best of luck, Dave Sr.

Dave Sr. Is very rude and condescending. We spent about 15 minutes there. The vehicles were overpriced, down right dirty and of low quality. The office area was dirty and rundown just like the vehicles.

Just brought my second vechicle from Dave at Mass Auto Outlet. First one was a 1998 GMC Jimmy 14 years ago and it is still on the road with 421,000 miles!!! But I needed another vechicle so I went to see Dave and brought a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Great vechicle and very reasonable price. I love it. Dave has a fairly small dealership, so that means low overhead...hence low price. I live in Rhode Island and would reccomend Mass Auto Outlet to Anyone. Joe J. From Burrillville, RI

Dealt with owner, Dave Sr. on the phone and he was friendly and no pressure. Made arrangements to see a truck from the website the next day. We ended up getting a different truck than originally seen on the website. We pointed out that it needed 2 rear tires and rear brakes, and he agreed to take care of that. We struck a deal and he made sure the truck was ready in a couple of days. I would definitely recommend buying a vehicle from this dealer. Dave was very easy to talk to, up front and didn't waste our time!

Buy a car here if you want to have to buy another car to replace it in a few weeks. The vehicles are overpriced and under maintained. Dave is rude and will say anything for a sale. Please stay away.

Well I posted a review before and I'm not seeing it in any of the reviews. But Dave Jr, was helping us out with the Jeep Commander Limated with the hemi ( black one ) We had a 4 hr.drive one way to go look at the Jeep so we asked for more photos and a video of the moter and the muffler and to check for the sunroof opens right and the seats work, peddles move like they should. After asking Dave Jr if the sunroof leaked ( Dave Jr Said NO ) the snow was because there was snow on the truck and so that's why it has snow ,ok it did snow the day before that's fine. The drivers seat had a rip, we called around to get a price to have it fixed or get a new cover that was in that saddle brown color made. ( no place could get that color and not sure if it could be fixed ) but the place we called gave us a ball park price. We also seen in photos the muffler had some rust and we would like that fixed or replaced. To Dave Jr that was not a problem. So my husband recapped to Dave Jr that we could come out Tuesday ( I took the day off work) and that we needed the seat fixed and the muffler fixed. Dave said the seat would get fixed and so would the muffler all by Tuesday because its cheaper for them to do it then pay us to have it fixed. Mass Auto was asking a lot for this jeep commander like 8,000 or better. I asked them also how I was going to get this truck home, they said drive it, slap your New York plates on it and drive I would not get stopped. After fishing around New York has rules about driving in New York with plates that don't belong on that jeep. I would of got tickets and fines and New York would have impounded the Jeep. After getting there to the dealer the Jeep was at a shop down the road getting the muffler fixed ( the other shop said it was ok didn't need to be fixed ) During this time Dave Sr was excited to have me get the paper work started , I explained I needed to see the Jeep first, yes yes he said. After the.truck got there it looked nice on the out side other then some dings and scrapes ( but it's used ) after opening the drivers door I look at the floor and there is moisture under the plastic they had down on the floor so I lifted it up and there was a hole under the plastic, along with about 1 inch of water on the rug. ( sick ) so I looked at the passenger side same thing with the water I looked at the cup holder and there was water in them just a little , So the sun roof did leake and dave jr said no it didnt ( MIND YOU THEY JUST DROVE THIS JEEP BACK FROM THE MUFFLER SHOP) and they didnt see this * what * I told my husband No I don't want this truck. We went back in to Dave Sr and we told him no thanks and what we had seen, (Dave Jr in his office at the time) Dave Sr ask Dave if he new about the water and he said no and acted dumb to the question then said them jeep commanders are known for sun roof leaked. Dave Sr didn't want hard feelings but really, I'm glad I didn't but this truck. I'm out a day of work, and tolls, because they didn't tell us everything about this truck. Any one with 1/2 a beanie will Stay away from this place. Stay away from this shop. There snakes

Hmmm... I guess you forgot to mention the part where I called YOU to inform YOU that the repairs YOU requested (exhaust & seat rip) were not complete. You and only you, decided to make the 4 hr trip knowing full well that the requested repairs were incomplete You arrived about 4 hours after my call. You also knew, that I told YOU long before you came here that we DO NOT KNOW New York State rules for out of state purchases. YOU were advised by me, Dave Sr. to do YOUR research for YOUR NY state rules. Then, after learning NY rules, YOU will and only you will decide how YOU want to proceed with transport. PERIOD! Amazing that YOU are blaming us for your NY state rules. YOU told me to find a U-HAUL car trailer for YOU to rent. And I did, then YOU called my U-HAUL reference - remember that? Did YOU forget to recall that honest up front conversation in regard to transport? It's been my 20 year experience for in-state and out-of-state buyers (literally 100's) slap their plate on and drive off with the current bill of sale that I provide none have ever reported a problem to me. Just facts. The sunroof on Jeep Commanders are prone to leak when debris interferes with the window track. It is a very simple fix. We, Dave Jr. and Dave Sr. were unaware of any leak, we did not notice the damp carpet that you mentioned. Had nothing to do with YOUR exaggerated 'snake' comment. YOU visited just like any other potential buyer. YOU rightfully looked over the vehicle with your righteous critical eyes like every other visitor. YOU decided not to purchase the vehicle like the majority of visitors do. Simple as that, nobody lured you here under false snake-like pretenses. My goodness - we have sold ~9,000+ vehicles in 20 years. HIGHLY successful. At least 10 times more visitors (90,000) LIKE YOU, who visited looked over our USED imperfect vehicles, and decided like YOU, not to buy. . May God bless YOU, Dave Sr
