My husband and I went to Honda of Gainesville yesterday...

My husband and I went to Honda of Gainesville yesterday because we are looking to upsize from my current 2-door civic coupe to a small SUV. We met Gabe and he took us to the lot and we were able to test drive a CRV EX-L. While Gabe was very nice, he did continue to lightly push us toward the EX-L with navigation despite me saying I have had Nav in my current car and no longer want it in a new car. The maps are outdated too quickly and I end up using google maps on my phone for directions now anyways. After the test-drive we went inside and asked for a price quote on the EX and EX-L for comparison. After letting them see our trade in (a 2008 Honda Civic 2 door coupe with NAV), Frank Bradley came out and took over the sales part of it. From the second he sat down, he seemed very pushy and typical of car salesmen. He acted shocked when we told him we were just starting our search and planned to get some price estimates and shop around. The quote for my car was $8000 (low for KBB estimate). I asked him about the finance rate they were offering because I have really good credit and read online about a 0%/60mo finance offer for well qualified buyers. 3 times he did the walk away, haggle with managers thing and 3 times I asked what APR he was offering which he continued to divert from answering each time. I'm not sure how a dealership expects a customer to walk in and take a 25-30K loan from them without knowing the interest rate they will be paying back- completely ludacris!! He even told us that they put buyers in tiers based on credit and since mine is good, we are in the "preferred" tier and what they do is average all the "preferred" tier customers interest rates from the past month, so we should rest assured it's a good rate... although he absolutely refused to tell us what that great rate might be. On top of that, we only ever received info on the EX-L with no mention of the lower priced EX price. After 3 rounds of back and forth we left Honda of Gainesville. Some might think this is an anti-Honda rant, but my husband and I have been loyal Honda customers and together our past 6 cars have been Honda's. While we still like the Honda Fit my husband drives, we had the same issues with this dealership in 2010 and ended up driving to Jacksonville to get it. I recommend future customers to choose wisely and be careful with this dealership. While we went with a Toyota this time, I may return to Honda in the future but I definitely will not be visiting Honda of Gainesville again. On a side note, after leaving the Honda dealership, we went to Toyota and their first offer for my trade in was almost $2000 more than Honda had offered and we were able to talk them up another $700 without them being pushy or making us feel pressured into anything- and each price estimate had the price of the new car, the trade in value, the interest rate you were paying and prices depending on how long of a loan you took out- it was a great experience and I became a Toyota convert on the spot.

We had a great experience with Honda of Gainesville...

We had a great experience with Honda of Gainesville today. This was our second vehicle leased from there, and once again, the experience was A+. Ryan (Hurewitz - our salesman), did an excellent job right from the start in making the leasing of the vehicle easy, efficient and fun. From getting together our basic needs, to the test drive, and then working to get us where we wanted to be re: financing, we felt he was top notch! We briefly worked with Kelly (Meggs) as well at the end of the process, who helped hone in the monthly payment we were looking for, and made the deal even sweeter. Julio (Perez) was great to work with in the finance department. This is the second vehicle for us that he's setup financing for, and like the last experience, he made it a no-stress and fun process. We really appreciate the service that Ryan, Kelly, Julio and everyone at Honda of Gainesville gave us today!

These guys have been the nicest people, no pressure from the sales department. The first offer they gave us on a new Honda was awsome and way better than I expected. It is a great time to buy a new Honda from Honda of Gainesville.

Bought a used Honda yesterday. Met Matt Like, salesperson and stellar guy. Had the best experience I have ever had purchasing a vehicle. Have bought 9 cars in my lifetime and all from different dealerships across GA and FL...bought the 9th yesterday...and until yesterday I had never felt that I would ever be a repeat customer anywhere. I will be back to buy another car at Honda from Matt. No pressure. No stress. No silly gimmicks or stupid sales room antics, i.e., running back and forth to get a "yes" or "no" from the man behind the curtain. Yep, I will be a repeat customer.

I've always owned Honda vehicles, but had never...

I've always owned Honda vehicles, but had never before purchased a new one. Since purchasing a brand new vehicle was new for me, I was a bit nervous and wary of car dealerships in general. However, the staff at Honda of Gainesville were wonderful! In particular, Ryan Hurewitz, the sales representative I was working with, was extremely pleasant and VERY patient throughout the entire process. Ryan and his sales manager, Frank, went to great lengths to work on a price that I could afford, so obviously I was very pleased with that. When it came to signing the actual paperwork, Julio Perez was wonderful to work with as well. Like Ryan, Julio demonstrated an extreme amount of patience when walking me through the process, so that is to be commended. Since my recent purchase, both Ryan and Julio have been accessible and easy to get in touch with, answering all of my follow-up questions. I'm actually looking forward to bringing my car in for service so I can visit with both of them again!

Where do I start? The guys at Honda of Gainesville are top notch! I worked with Matt Like and his quality of service and attention to my wants and needs are unmatched. I've owned two previous cars, both manufactured by Chevrolet and I can assure you, now that I own my Honda CR-V, I will never again consider another Chevrolet. Matt Like is a no-pressure, straight forward salesman and I appreciate those characteristics because I am a straight forward, firm, and thorough individual so the wheeling and dealing approach would not have been well received by me at all and I would have simply taken my business elsewhere. Julio Perez made the financing portion of my experience easy to understand and he too did not attempt to offer or upsell me on anything I made it clear I was not interested in. These two guys deserve golden stars for the way they respected my wishes and ensured that my first Honda buying experience was excellent and thus won't be my last! Honda of Gainesville's Used Cars division is at least one dealership which is a breath of fresh air in an auto industry that is rife with many negative stigmas and experiences.

I leased a 2010 Honda vehicle at this location 3 years...

I leased a 2010 Honda vehicle at this location 3 years ago and my lease was about to expire. My family and I are moving across the country in a year so we were considering just extending our lease by a year, leave that vehicle in Florida and buy a new car in our new state. I had been corresponding with Harris Walters for months, explaining exactly what it would take for me to re-lease or buy a new car for it to make financial sense for me to buy here in Florida and have the car shipped to our new location. It was a very long ordeal, but by June I thought we had come to an agreement. I came into the dealership to finalize the specifics and Mr. Walters and I had agreed (I thought) on certain terms. I came back the next day with my husband and that was not the case. He said that I agreed to $1000.00 more down than I had written down and we had a specific conversation that I had just made a payment on my current car and that I couldn't afford to make another payment this month. He said that was fine, he would 'work it out'. I felt like I was lied to and that all of those months were a waste. I was ready to go home and not purchase a car from this dealership. Frank Bradley came in and 'fixed' it, but I left feeling like the dealership thought I was being a crazy woman and unreasonable. I would never buy a car from this dealership again and I have told several of my friends to make the drive to Orlando to purchase their new CRVs. I absolutely LOVE Honda- this is my 3rd new car and 3rd Honda. I wish I had received better customer service because I will be shopping around for my next car.
