The dealership was honest enough to call me and inform me

The dealership was honest enough to call me and inform me that the car had a salvage title up front before I got too far into it. At least they were honest with me.

Ask for Charlie

I highly recommend Denny Dotson Automotive. Ask for Charlie, he was great to work with. He didn't mess around. He gave me a good offer on my car (no negotiating, thank goodness), and the car we purchased was priced reasonably. Charlie answered my phone call at 9 am and I drove the car home by that afternoon. Charlie understood that I was coming from out of town and he made sure I could drive away with the car that day. He was willing to work with my local bank and had us out of there in no time. I was nervous to buy a car without my husband present, but I felt that Charlie was honest and would not steer me wrong. Thank you Denny Dotson Automotive, we love our new family car.

Best of the Best

We have purchased two cars from Denny Dotson and have been 100% satisfied. We had both cars for three plus years with no mechanical problems. This team is personable and honest. When our family and friends ask where to find good cars at fair prices we highly recommend Denny Dotson Auto.

Just terrible

Got a hold of them about a vehicle and went to go check it out and they sold it from underneath me. Upset and not going back there again

Beware. Untrustworthy; a very poor experience

Beware. Untrustworthy; a very poor experience I sincerely wish this review were quite the opposite of what it is, and that I would be singing praises of my experience here instead of recounting a negative one. It’s certainly not my intention to slander this dealership nor its people, but I do think it’s important for potential buyers to know what they might be getting into. Summary: I live in Chicago, and did all of the necessary due diligence prior to going to see the vehicle in Ohio—checked out Carfax, Autocheck, compared prices, and negotiated a reasonable deal over the phone with the dealership. I took a full day off of work and spent it in vain, since the car turned out to be a mess, requiring $11k to repair. The dealership could’ve been up front with me, before I made all of that investment into going and seeing it. It is difficult to believe that the dealership didn’t know about these major issues as they were trying to sell the vehicle to me; if they didn’t know about them, then that’s a whole other problem in and of itself—either bad of heart, or bad of head. Regardless, it’s bad. The car was marketed as being in “impeccable condition” and looked great on the outside; however, when I took it out for a test drive and looked underneath the hood, there were major oil leaks all over the engine. A visit to the mechanic—and the unbiased opinion of 4 different mechanics there—confirmed that vehicle would need approximately $11k to make it run reliably, from changing the turbo to the oil separator system, to brakes and rotors. The problems were so glaringly evident that I would not be willing to purchase the vehicle even if they offered to put in significant money for the repairs. No negotiating when there’s no trust. When I called the deal off, they didn’t even try to sell it. I believe that they are waiting for the next person to make that mistake. In the end, I think that their sales model is to take advantage of people who are so set on purchasing a great looking car, that they don’t think about inspecting it, and trust in the dealership’s image. In my case, that would have been a major and very costly mistake. Buyer beware.

1988 BMW 325i Convertible

In the add for a 1988 BMW 325i convertible Denny Dotson Automotive said, "Awesome 1988 BMW 325i Convertible......." to make a long story short, it was not "awesome." Wires were hanging below the dashboard, the convertible top, that Denny said was new, had wear and misfit the frame, deep scratch on the side mirror cap, scratches on the paint, shallow dent and scratch on the wheel well, large paint chip on the gas door, Scratches in the paint on the hood, sides and rear. I guess it was "Awesome," an awesome mess. I sent an email to Denny with pictures showing the defects in the car and never received a response. I would not buy a car from Denny Dotson Automotive unless you personally inspect the vehicle. They are prone to misrepresent the vehicle.

Great people, easy buying experience

They were very responsive to all my questions through email and on the phone. I buy cars out of town often, and without seeing the car, or having a friend check for me I had to count on Denny and his team. They didn?t let me down. The car was just as described. In my opinion they went beyond the normal salesman at a big dealership. Very satisfied. Would drive another 16 hours round trip to buy again. I love my rare Mercedes wagon. Very good people at Denny Dotson.
