The dealership associates were pleasant and polite, and the loaner vehicle was much appreciated, but the final bill included a $227 charge for a locksmith after locking themselves out of my vehicle. I was told that my vehicle "locked itself" and why should the dealership be responsible? FYI...I scheduled the service partially due to the issues with door lock unpredictability. It was not explained to me that I would be responsible for the locksmith fees. Imagine my shock when the fee was actually included in my total repair bill that went over $1000. I would really like to recommend this dealership for BMW purchases and/or repairs, but at this time, I cannot. CJ

CJ- Thank you for your kind words concerning our staff; however, per our previous discussion, I am having a bit of difficulty understanding where we went wrong while serving you. Since the event in question (that being, your car's locking mechanism malfunctioning causing the car to lock itself & become inaccessible even when using the key, which was in our possession at the time of the malfunction) occurred while you were here at the dealership with us, I was surprised to see that you felt the steps taken to proceed with the repair were anything but completely transparent. Upon double-checking our records, I noted that your visit to our Service Department on that day was in part due to that exact locking mechanism issue occurring previously, you were also present when the locksmith was called upon to assist, & you signed an estimate containing all associated service fees including the cost of the locksmith's services which were necessary for us to begin performing any repairs on the vehicle whatsoever. If there is some way in which we could have better communicated our intentions to pursue that course of action with you, then I would appreciate it if you would let me know how we might have done so. My experience was first -rate! ! The sales & finance staff answered all my questions, provided documentation of vehicle history and followed-up after the purchase to be sure all questions were answered. Communication before , during and after the sale were excellent.

Avoid their service department
Ashely Harmon in their service department will go out of her way to make your life complicated. They attempted to make me pay for a recall (for all parts & labor). Saying there was no other way and my car wasn't covered. A simple call to BMW NA and literally within 10 minutes had everything taken care of and confirmed that it was. I would avoid this place like the plague. Not my first time here but my first time in over 2 years thinking things have had to change, i was wrong. The next nearest BMW dealership is 20 miles further from me but worth the trip!

Could not assist with common problem.
I called this company because we lost a key, and need two new keys to be cut an programmed. The ability of an official BMW service center to cut keys was expected, however, this company can not take care of one of the most common owner issues to arise. But this in an of itself does not warrant negative feedback. What is most upsetting is that Kelly not even advise where to take the keys. That is insane to me. Don't lose your keys in Ohio!

Ultimate service department
I have going to Kelly BMW for 17 years and I have found them to be friendly and knowledgeable. One time my wife's 535XI was having and intermittent blip on her display screen. Kelly gave me a 535 loaner and because it took a long time to diagnose the problem they did the work for free. Amazing. I have sent new customers to Kelly and my son now goes there for service rather than the dealer closer to where he live.

Kelly BMW
I looked at most all luxury car makes and models prior to settling on the BMW X5. My final Columbus area BMW dealership visited was Kelly BMW and the warm reception , helpfulness and pure professionalism by far exceeded my preceding experience with another area dealership which frankly was unhelpful and quite arrogant! My sales person Steve Hoyng was exceptional and in fact we just purchased a 2nd BMW (328i GT) from Steve. Kelly service and friendliness is second to none in the Columbus area in my opinion !

Easy, honest transaction
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They're car guys themselves, in it for that first and foremost. Very simple and efficient transaction. Would gladly buy here again, and definitely recommend to others.
