Spending double

Originally bought the car from here and the purchasing process was great? But I would not recommend getting your oil changed here unless you automatically want to get fully charged with everything else that you told them you didn't want. This is the second time I've went in for an oil change and clearly stated that that's ALL I WANTED on the phone when making the appointment and face to face when asked what I was getting done. I go in there expecting to pay $20 for an oil change but then end up paying double when they decide to rotate my tires and whatever else. Which is really aggravating when I have someone who does that for free. Just don't like spending money when I don't have to.

Dealer response

Dear "No longer works there", I am very sorry to hear that we disappointed you on a recent service visit. Please feel free to come see me (or contact me) and I would be more than happy to rectify the situation. Sincerely, Jim Scott - Owner

Horrible, horrible customer service

The people they have working here are truly incompetent and there were no managers available to assist - or so we were told. Do not recommend.

Purchase of Pre-Owned Truck

Worked with Mike Shelburn on purchase of a pre-owned Ford 5-150 truck. Mike was courteous, knowledgeable, and I was in an out in record time. Great experience, will go to him when I purchase another vehicle.

Poor Poor Service

Each time my car is due for an oil change, I make an appointment, bring the car in on time and sit and wait for it. They never take me on time. I don't mean 5 or ten minutes late, I am talking 1/2-1 hour late!! Unacceptable!! Today my car battery died. I made an appointment for today and took half the day off from work to go to Jarrett to have a new car battery put in. They took my car in LATE AGAIN and three and a half hours later, they come out and tell me there is nothing wrong with my battery and now they want to take time to look into what drained the battery in the first place. SERIOUSLY?? Why bother making an appointment? Do any of these clowns know what they are doing or just collecting a check?

Pre Owned Trucks

My wife and I were out looking for trucks and came across a nice Certified 2016 F150. Michael Shelburn was our sales associate and very personable and made the whole experience a pleasure. Did not have any intention of purchasing on this day but ended up driving home in a new truck. This is the third vehicle we have bought at Jarrett but by far the best experience. If you are looking stop by and talk to Michael.

Good advertised price but beware of trade in!

I traveled to Jarrett Scott Ford in Plant City to purchase a 2017 F150 they had advertised on cars.com at an amazing price. I put in my info on their website to schedule a test drive for this weekend as i live 2 hours away. Someone contacted me almost immediately and i told them which truck i was interested in and when i could come. They informed me that the truck was at their sister store in Avon Park but they would get the truck to Plant City. I made sure to ask which location i needed to go to. Ryan the internet manager emailed me the next day to confirm that i was scheduled to come down. Friday before my trip down i emailed Ryan to confirm the truck was still available and that i needed to come to the Plant City location. He assured me that the truck would be brought up when i got there. Great i thought this will be an easy transaction. Unfortunately when i got to the store i was told the truck was still in Avon Park which is a 3 hour round trip. I was irritated at this as i had been communicating my desires and confirming where i needed to go to make things go as smoothly as possible. I brought my current truck, a 2015 F150, in as a trade. The guys at the dealership made an offer for my trade which i felt was extremely low. I didnt realize how low until i was in the finance office but ill get to that in a minute. My sales man Bill was super nice and very apologetic about the truck not being there when i arrived. We did all the paper work and Bill went to get my truck from Avon Park. While in the finance office talking with Andrew, who was also really nice, I realize the price they had valued my trade at was way lower than what i had expected. I questioned this number as i had previously sent in my trucks basic info on Jarrett Scott's website and they said it was work approximately $20000 pending an inspection. I had also had it appraised at another dealer and been offered $21000 for it. My trade that day was valued at $16500 thats crazy low based on all the values id been looking at. Andrew called the manager who told him that since the truck i wanted to buy was discounted so heavily already thats the best he could do. This was crazy to me as the value of my trade in should be the same no matter what the value or discount on the truck i want to buy is. Andrew talked to someone else and got it bumped up to 18000. We had been at the dealership for 3 hours at this point and it was to late in the day for us to drive an hour to look at another similar truck i'd found on cars.com so we made the deal. I finally got my truck 6 hours after i got to the dealership which is entirely unacceptable given the communications i had made prior to arriving. I have another coworker in the market for a truck and while i got the truck i wanted for a very good price the hassle and the low trade value will cause me not to recommend Jarrett Scott to others. Its not a good way to do business in my opinion. By far this has been my worst truck buying experience. Bill and Andrew were very nice and helpful but maybe the management needs some work.

Dealer response

Mr Slack, It was a pleasure to speak with you on the phone. Once again I want to apologize for the mix-up in communication from my staff. As I told you, they thought you were aware that the vehicle was not on our lot. Please don't hesitate to contact me in the future if there is anything I can do to help you. Sincerely, Jim Scott - Owner
