🚨 WARNING: Deceptive Practices & Unnecessary Upsells at Gillman Subaru Southwest I bought my 2019 Subaru Crosstrek using Authority Auto to avoid dealership games, but Gillman Subaru’s service department has proven to be entirely untrustworthy. Over the last two years, they have repeatedly attempted to charge me for unnecessary repairs, outright lied about vehicle diagnostics, and ignored my concerns when escalated to management. Here is the exact pattern of behavior I experienced: * Feb 5, 2024 (Fabricated Bulb Failure): The service advisor claimed my fog light bulb was dead and quoted $88 to replace a $30 bulb. I took it to an honest, independent mechanic who discovered the bulb wasn't dead at all—it had simply come loose. The technician at Gillman never bothered to verify the bulb before trying to charge me. * March 12, 2026 (The $400 "Wallet Flush"): I brought my car in for a keyless buzzer repair under warranty. The advisor claimed I had "carbon buildup" on my fuel injectors and recommended a cleaning to improve gas mileage. They charged me $352 in labor for a $34 chemical fluid that they simply ran through the system. The technician never physically inspected the injectors; they recommended it strictly because my car had ~62,000 miles. Furthermore, I exclusively use Costco Top Tier gasoline, so it’s likely that my injectors were already clean. A $12 bottle of Techron would have done the exact same thing. It did absolutely nothing to improve my mileage as promised. * April 2, 2026 (The Brake Fluid Lie & CVT Neglect): I had to specifically request a CVT transmission fluid change because Gillman chose to ignore it, presumably waiting for the transmission to fail out of warranty. During that same visit, the advisor tried to sell me a brake fluid flush, claiming my fluid was "dark." I demanded to see it myself—the fluid was a perfectly healthy light yellowish-green, having been fully replaced just 17 months prior. They outright lied to extract more money. * Inconsistent Inspections: Their multi-point inspection sheets are a joke. My brake pad wear measurements fluctuate wildly and inconsistently from one visit to the next, proving their techs just guess or pencil-in metrics. When I reached out to the Service Manager to report this systemic dishonesty, nobody ever responded. They simply do not care about customer integrity once they have your money. My Advice to Everyone: Do not trust Gillman Subaru Southwest. They do not operate in your best interest. If you absolutely must use them, demand physical proof for every single recommendation. I have officially pulled my business from this dealership and now trust J&T Automotive for all my maintenance. They provide fair prices, honest diagnostics, and zero corporate games.

I Bought the forester Limited edition last week From Gilman Subaru Houston. The sales lead Mr. Sia Azimi Was very helpful with the whole sales process, and I never felt that I was being rushed through to buy the car. Every query of mine was fully addressed and explained every key feature. He also ensured that I got to test drive the vehicle before I decided to buy. Got great competitive pricing for my trade-in car too. They are the best Subaru dealer in Houston both in terms of competitive pricing and outstanding sales support. Happy to have bought my car from Gillman Subaru

This is my best experience ever when buying a new car, and I am 76 years old. They made this very easy. There was no haggling over the price - I came up with the same amount that they did, to the penny, so negotiations were not needed. They got me in and out in an efficient manner.

I had a great experience at Gilman Subaru Southwest with Jonathan. Probably my best car buying experience yet. We negotiated the price entirely over email and then set a date for the purchase. Jonathan was always quick to respond throughout the process. On the day of the purchase, Jonathan had everything ready to go so I could do a quick test drive and make sure everything was in order. I was in and out of the dealership in a little over an hour, by far my fastest car buying experience ever. Jonathan was very helpful in answering all my questions both before and after my purchase and I never felt pressured. The entire staff at Gilman Subaru were very friendly and professional. Overall, it was a far superior experience than most of the other car dealerships I?ve dealt with in the past.

Jos� was such a great salesperson. He waited for us on a Monday evening and was patient showing us various cars. Financing was super easy and we were out in under 2hrs. Definitely would buy from them again.
