Batteries Not Included About a month ago, I purchased a minivan from Stearns Ford. Within just a few days of bringing it home, the vehicle was already having trouble starting in the mornings. I recorded videos showing the problem and contacted Stearns Ford. Because Stearns is a Ford dealership and the vehicle is a Chrysler, I was told to take it to a Chrysler dealership. The Chrysler dealership diagnosed the battery as bad, and I had to pay out of pocket to have it replaced. Unfortunately, that wasn't the only issue. The vehicle also had noises coming from the front driver's side and dashboard. I had purchased a MotorTrend warranty through Stearns Ford, but when a claim was submitted, it was denied because I had owned the vehicle for such a short period of time. I was directed back to the selling dealership. I contacted Stearns Ford again and spoke with Roger, the sales floor manager. To their credit, Stearns did work with me and addressed the other issues, and I appreciate them doing that. However, they refused to reimburse me for the battery. What bothered me most was being told that the battery replacement was an “upsell” by the Chrysler dealership. I had already documented the starting problem on video before taking the vehicle in. The vehicle wasn't reliably starting, Chrysler diagnosed the battery, the battery was replaced, and the starting issue was resolved. I've technically owned this minivan for about a month, but I've only actually had it in my possession for roughly a week because it spent about two weeks in the shop dealing with issues that appeared almost immediately after purchase. I'm not expecting a used vehicle to be perfect, and I appreciate the repairs Stearns Ford did ultimately address. But when a vehicle develops a starting problem only days after purchase, I don't think expecting the dealership to stand behind something as basic as the battery is unreasonable. After everything else was addressed, the battery remains the one expense Stearns Ford refuses to reimburse.

Salesman Canden accompanied me on the test drive and told me about the used vehicle I was trying out. He waked me through the purchase and helped me update my insurance. Some issues arose the day after and we worked out a fair fix.

From the first conversation with Wiley Bass until I picked up my new car the process was seamless and easy. He made sure that I was comfortable and that the vehicle I chose was perfect for me. Minimal paperwork and complete transparency on the purchase. I’m completely satisfied with my purchase and looking forward to working with Wiley Bass in the future.
