Bait and switch tactics
I scheduled oil change and tire rotation online because it appeared to be a good price. When I picked up my car, the invoice was almost twice what I expected. When I questioned the price, they told me it was more because I didn’t have their license plate on my car and they upgraded the oil to synthetic oil. When I questioned why, they gave me some excuse that if my car had engine failure, Chevy wouldn’t cover the warranty.

Mr. Schreder – While I understand you concern, I completely disagree with your conclusion. Our website clearly states under the definition of “SAVE! – Oil & Filter Change-Standard” service: “Customer Appreciation Program (CAP) discount of $20! FREE program. See advisor for details! Up to 5 quarts of synthetic-blend oil and standard filter.” When you were checking in your vehicle, I explained how you receive the $20 OFF and you declined the discounted program. Your 2016 Equinox also REQUIRES full synthetic oil (specifically Dexos) and even states this on the oil cap. I understand this was your first oil change since your purchase almost 8 months ago and you may not have been aware. I’m not sure how we could have conducted our business differently to satisfy you.
