My husband, children and I went to Northstar Ford on Friday, May 23rd to purchase a used truck. We had a couple in mind and a price point. We did not have to wait long because we had made an appointment with Jeff Van Meter. He greeted us and brought us in his office to do paperwork and pre-approval. I had told him right away that we wanted to do a joint vehicle loan and we are married. He said since we are married and live in Wisconsin that is the best way to go. He tried to upsell us on other trucks which is totally fine because that is their job. We took the one we ended up buying for a test drive. I told him it had a chip in the windshield which he said they would set up to replace which they did set that up a week later. We told them we wanted it. Jeff and his team started the paperwork. I know it takes some time but when the guy that did the paper work came out to finalize the paperwork it was only in my husbands name (which also meant a slightly worst interest rate because I have a better credit score even though his isnt bad). When I mentioned it to the manager he just said Jeff didnt say that. My husband was pretty frustrated with being there so long with the kids he said whatever. Now I get a letter from the bank that did the loan saying "since you are married you take responsibility if he defaults on his loan but since you weren't on the loan it wont help your credit score". They do not listen to people even though Jeff had insisted that it was a joint loan in the beginning. When my husband leaves and meets back up with my children and I, he lets me know the backup camera isn't working. After trying to get a hold of Jeff for multiple days he says that he would "check with the used vehicle repair man" to see if they would cover it. I told him I understand it is a used vehicle but it worked when we test drove it AND it was advertised on the website as having a working back up camera. After a week of him not getting back to me, I am sure we are just written off and have to "deal with it". Also, the remote start advertised doesnt work on any key fob either You are just a number at Northstar Ford and not a person. Once you leave they don't give one crap. We will not be purchasing any more vehicles here. I should have listened to a friend that went to purchase a brand new vehicle last year and was treated rudely. Lesson learned, I guess. I also left a Google Maps review and someone said that the manager would reach out to try to resolve this ASAP and that was 3 days ago.

They request an appointment for service. That is fine and appropriate. Before your appointment day they make sure you will arrive on the given day and at the appropriate time. HOWEVER, all of this is worthless to the customer. It only packs in their appointments so they can get to them when they can, as you sit and wait or go away and come back when they are done. Why the appointment...when you are told to come back in 2 or 3 hours when the job was to raise the car on a lift and look at a bolt on a recall and if it needs replacement...another appointment. Not a problem. But to wait for the lift and have to come back in 2 or 3 hours represents THEIR time is valuable...not MINE! To me it says pack the appointments for them with total disregard for me. And over the course of a few years, even for an oil change it's this way. Going to NorhStar is frustrating when it comes to appointment time.

I don't recommend northstar ford I got a ford f150 I had it one day tha truck was not clean out and tha next day tha truck drive bad then had a appointment for a inspection and cleaning thay did not know anything about tha appointment bring it to get clean 2 times inspection appointment told to bring it in weeks later tha tuck broke down went to a macanic fix tha vale cover seals spark plugs differential autanator new battery oil change I spent a lot of money for tha truck over $22000 not to fix it and I got to pay tha bank money on tha truck I went to nothstar ford car dealerships because I did not want to get a truck from anyone so I don't have to fix anything tha same week now all tha work I did from my business is going on this truck bad customer service

Would not assist with recall on our econoline 450 RV. Unhelpful for finding center that would help us. Rude service manager. We’ve driven Ford products for decades. We would never recommend this dealership or service center.

Only care about the sale. Once you sign, you are nothing but an annoyance to them. Will add extras to your contract without telling you. Added Rustproofing without telling us or setting up an appointment. Literally hoped we just paid for it and didnt know.

Jeff was extremely helpful with financing my 1st vehicle even with poor credit. The service department missed a cup holder compartment when detailing the vehicle which is where the 4’s come in. Otherwise, great guys & service!
