Write a review“Free” recall repair leads to $$$ to fix
Short version: received our vehicle from a “free” recall car replacement with two issues: 1. Engine light appeared on car dashboard. The dealership mechanic assumed it could be an issue with low voltage from the battery which they offered to replace for $300 and to see if that fixes it. We declined because nobody at the dealership bothered to plug a diagnostics tool that was just a guess probably from Google search. 2. Car brake suddenly “got stuck” on the way from dealership yard causing smoke coming out the wheel. The vehicle is now sitting in a real car repair shop to fix the issues that the dealership mechanics somehow caused. 3. We turned in a working vehicle for a part replacement that may have been a safety issue and we received our vehicle back with real issues that require immediate fix. More detailed review: Manufacturer sent a note about possible failure if we do not turn our vehicle into dealership for a free part replacement. Knowing it will NOT be free on March 2nd of 2023, I grudgingly drove the car to South Cushman Gene’s dealership in Fairbanks, AK. March 8th or 6 days and two phone calls later, we arrived to dealership collect the vehicle. 4:49 pm is the time stamp on our $199 cc receipt. 5:25 pm the car finally appeared upfront (taking it from the back of the building to its front for 300-ft ride the employee managed to get the car stack in a snow bank!). 5:30 pm dealership notified me that they can sell me a new car battery but they will not plug in a diagnostics tool to see what code caused the light to come on. 5:35 pm just one block away after a couple of weird pulls to the right and noise coming from the back, I pulled over. Smoke and strong smell were coming from the rear passenger tire. 6 pm the vehicle parked in a car repair shop just a couple of blocks away and waiting to be fixed, really. Worst of all, our vehicle is out of commission for another two weeks and looming $$$ spent on repairs Moral of the story: never, ever go to the dealership for a “free” part replacement if you do not have extra money for unnecessary “fixes”, time to be without your vehicle, and if you do not want to incur additional mechanical problems. For the “free” replacement you may end up paying $$ for dealership’s “courtesy 23 pt inspection,” “diagnostics” and “shop supplies.”

Poor customer service
Brought my 2018 Jeep Renegade in under warranty repairs to get the power steering system replaced on 1/17/2020. It’s now been an entire week and they’re still unable to supply me with a rental, 9 months pregnant and left without a car.. possibly have to go another week or month like this. To get any updates on my vehicle I have to call in and sit on hold everyday just for them to beat around the bush and say they’ll give me a call when they find out anything new (never do) Even contacted Jeep Corporate who is willing to cover the rental for additional days, but they’re also leaving them on hold for long periods of time and not updating them. Extremely disappointed with the customer service, wish I had never bought a new car from Genes Chrysler in Fairbanks.

Great sales rep & dealership!
Logan was a very professional, courteous, knowledgeable & patient representative of both Dodge and the dealership. He was very knowledgeable on all areas of explaining every feature of the vehicle and offered several times to assist in the process of setting all the personal settings and features of the truck & made sure to give his contact number for any future questions I had in the future. The dealership with their new modern updated energy saving lighting really sold me on the Truck I purchased, the way the natural daylight l.e.d lighting showcased the vibrant colors of the vehicle in an indoor setting was amazing & the fact that as a Company they cared about saving energy for future generations is what ultimately sold me on doing business with them.
