Live in Texas had to buy a car fo my daughter in Florida.
I have been looking for a car for my daughter for a while. Came upon Preston Hood Chevrolet. I was so happy that I had gotten texts on my questions almost immediately. Had the pleasure of talking with Matthew Keller & Orlando one of them always made sure they called me back. I live in Texas & my daughter in Florida so it was a bit stressful trying to get everything done. Stephanie made sure the transaction went smoothly. My Daughter Joeny will be picking her car up soon. Horrific Customer Service
I had one of the worst experiences ever at this dealership (Preston Hood Chevrolet) early today. It started from the moment I arrived at my appointment time driving into their service centre. The service Advisor - Peggy Gleason, was incredibly rude & unprofessional to me. She questioned the idea of me even having an appointment at 7:30 in the morning. I advised her that my appointment was made two weeks prior. . Secondly- I understand how uncomfortable it can be to work with the public. I voiced my concerns about my car shutting off while I was driving 55-60 mph down the highway & it was scaring me and I didn't feel safe in it. The service advisor, Peggy Gleason began to tell me that my cars problem was " normal" for a Chevy Equinox. That is not "normal" & if it was my decision to buy my car never would have been fulfilled. Who wants to purchase a vehicle that's just going to shut down while traveling down the highway??? The service Manager John did tell me after I requested to speak with him in the end that they've had problems with Peggys attitude when working with customers. The service manager made a point to tell me - not to codemn the whole dealership because of one person. First off, his only response to me should have been - a sincere apology & that is not how Preston Hood Chevrolet treats their customers. Especially because I've gone for the past 5 years to have my car serviced there. I do not need to know that that employee has treated other customers the same way. She 100 % made my experience the worst I've ever had when my car needed to get serviced. I may be a female & might not know a lot about mechanics. However, I am a highly educated woman with respect and manners. I know what good service is when dealing with the public. Their service department needs a lot of work. Starting from management- treat your customers with respect and have some manners when dealing with their concerns. There was no reason to make my situation any worse than it already was from the start. To top it off they had a salesman approach me trying to sell me another car. It wasn't his fault at all for my repulsed response back - I kindly said - I do not trust Preston Hood Chevrolet and will not be buying or trading my vehicle there ever again. The only positive experience I came in contact with at this service center was an employee named - Brad. From start to finish he was extremely professional, kind, understanding and concerned about the problems I was having with my car. You should promote him to service manager. Bravo to him.

No car to drive when I arrived
Ely, the sales manage knew I was driving 25 miles to test drive/buy 2010 Cobalt. Just as I arrrived they were putting plates on it for another person to drive. So, I wasted my gas and time just to be beat out by some one that happened to live closer. Moral of story,,,don't drive any distance to car dealer. No honor in the system.. Make your dollar today,,,worry about tomorrow later. I gave the one star because you can't give them zero. Make all the excuses you want,,,it was my time/gas that was exhausted. No problem on their end. I will never deal with them again . Too many dealers that want money. So, lets get this story straight. I was working on a list of used cars available. I called the day before to see if car was still there. It was. I called again the following morning to see if it had been sold. Nope. Still there. After working my list down, I called an hour or two later to see if car was still there before driving over. It was still there. THEN I told them I was leaving to driver over to see the car. There had NEVER been an appointment to drive it before. Ely can post whatever makes him happy.

I do apologize that you feel this way, but we did have an appointment for you to come in and see the Cobalt on 7/7/2017 at 8:30am with Eli. You did not show up for the 8:30am appointment, then called Eli at 9:30am and told him that you still planned on coming in but not till after you went to a couple other dealerships to look at different vehicles. We can only hold vehicles for customers if they agree on numbers and put a deposit down for us to take the vehicle off the lot. You did not do that with Eli when you called, so the vehicle was first-come, first-served. While you were on your way to the dealership another customer saw the Cobalt and made an offer on it. Again, we are very sorry that happened but we can not control when people come to the lot and make offers on vehicles
Odometer rollback fraud
I bought a Chevrolet Tahoe in November 2014. When I went to trade it in, car fax said the odometer was rolled back 2 times. I have since received a revised car fax that says everything is great, but I still had to replace a part on my vehicle that goes bad with high mileage. I have been trying to get Preston Hood to pay my truck off. The final word I received from Preston Hood was if I couldn't pay any more money than the limit I told them, they couldn't help me. They also said they would not pay my car off, but I was welcome to come in and get an estimate of what it was worth. I have involved the Federal Odometer Fraud division, the state Odometer Fraud Agency, and any one I can think of that may be able to help. I will call my representative sometime this month. I feel they need to rectify the dishonesty from 2 years ago.

Awesome sales team!
Stephanie was our sales woman for our GMC and she put up with my husband and I's indecisiveness for quite a long while! She gave us a great deal, was welcoming, professional, and friendly. She even sent me a hand written birthday card in the mail from Preston Hood! Super sweet gesture! Appreciate their service! Definitely go see Stephanie! She's awesome!

If you want a professional relationship with a dealer, in which YOU are their most precious commodity Preston Hood is the dealer for you. I have dealt with ALL the high-end car dealerships in the area and was never treated better than @ Preston Hood. I have purchased over 125 NEW cars to date and NEVER have been more appreciated than @ this dealership.

Online Scam
Worked an online deal for a new 1500 pickup? Web page showed $5800 discount (16%). I received online confirmation of the deal and arranged an appointment to test drive and do paperwork. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the dealership, I was told that the online special would not be honored. Dealer blamed it on GM. Claimed GM controls the web site and refused to honor the deal that I had written online confirmation of. Utilmately, dealer price was $1000 over confirmed online deal. I would not make this $30k purchase at this dealership if it was the last dealer on earth.

body shop doesn't know how to fix car
My car got accident last year. I took my car to the shop. John who is employee at the shop promised me to fix my car back to before accident. The shop kept my car almost 2 months to fix it !!! When I came back to pick up my car. I noticed my car gas tank was almost empty. I remembered I filled up my car gas tank in the morning at Walmart in Navarre, then in evening I got accident. I didn't understand what they did with my full gas tank ??? Under hood white powder was every where. Headline was wobble with slight touch. I told John. He refused until I showed him their clumsy work. Then he admitted it. The shop kept my car another week to fix it. I didn't understand why it took the shop so long ??? I thought everything would better after a week long. I disappointed again when I came back to pick up my car. The headline installed not flush with body. I told John that moisture could get inside the headline easily. But he smarted mouth. And after a couple days I had to take my car back to the shop. I remembered I took my car back and forth with the shop 3 times. They kept saying they fixed it. I believe they did not even touch my car. What I got every time I came to pick up my car was their excuse "that all we can do". I thought if they could not fix it. Then let Miracle Strip Shop or other professional shops in Fort Walton Beach city to help them out. I didn't understand how Chevrolet company certified this shop. I believe this shop only bring bad Chevrolet image to customers in the city. My advice to anyone got unlucky day like me, then don't ever take your car to this shop. Their technicians are very armature, their work is very clumsy, and un-talented. AVOID, AVOID this dealer shop.

Do not prepay for anything!
We prepaid for an oil change and then sold our car. They would not put that money towards our next oil change on our other vehicle. We feel like they stole money from us. I have bought 2 cars and had my service done here for 10 years. That ends today. I am ready to buy a new car in the next few months. But not from them. My loyalty ends here. Had my 2016 Silverado spray in bed liner done and it looks awesome. Phillip Prisco, was so professional. He took special care to do a masterful job any dealer would be proud of. Truck was detailed and ready to go when promised. Great job, Phillip!
