9/11/26 Update: I am changing my original review. Although the sales process was smooth, my first experience utilizing the service department was very unpleasant. This issue follows our third purchase from Randy Kuehl: I called on 9/7/26 after water entered my sunroof area and caused static sounds in the speaker system. To avoid further electrical damage, I had the car towed to the dealership. Because this occurred on Labor Day, I had few other options based on my location. When I called the next morning, the service department seemed unwilling to look at it. They quoted $185 just to inspect the vehicle and suggested I tow it again to a collision center, claiming that any necessary repairs would require "tearing it apart" and be very expensive. I told them I was not sure how much water got into the vehicle and I was concerned because of the reverb noise, I wanted to make sure there were no further issues. I ended up towing it a second time to Caliber Collision. They kept it inside overnight to dry, tested everything, and explained that a minimal amount of water had entered because the sunroof was slightly cracked open. They put my mind at ease, explaining that the vehicle is engineered so that major wiring does not run through that area. They dried the car, the speaker issue is resolved, and they didn't even charge me. It was thoroughly explained to me how they could tell minimal water got in, and how it probably got in. In contrast, Randy Kuehl staff couldn't explain the sunroof recalibration process and refused to even glance at the car while it sat on the lot. You would think the dealership would take more pride in their vehicles rather than simply stating the warranty is up and refusing to help. Original Review: I worked with Tim C. on a deal for a CRV; it was a hassle-free, smooth experience! This is our third purchase from Randy Kuehl and we'll continue to come back!

BEWARE OF BUYING USED VEHICLES FROM RANDY KUEHL HONDA IN CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA I bought a 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan from them on March 12, 2026 for over $13,000. The dealership-provided CarFax claimed the engine had been serviced and the vehicle a "must-see, must-drive, must-own". Less than ONE MONTH later — after driving only 367 miles — the van broke down and would not start. In the next two weeks, I took it to two separate mechanics, and they told me the engine needs replaced or rebuilt (around $10,000 in repairs) due to major internal engine damage that would have existed before the sale. When I contacted Randy Kuehl Honda about the issue, they offered me $1,000 toward repairs. That does not come close to covering the estimated repair costs, nor the loss in value on a vehicle I had just purchased for over $13,000 less than a month earlier. I understand used vehicles are sold as-is, but having catastrophic engine failure less than a month after purchase and after only 367 miles — combined with documentation claiming the engine had just been serviced — has been an extremely disappointing experience. My vehicle is no longer worth the over $13,000 that I just paid for it, but a diminished value of about $3,000 to $4,000 due to having to have a complete new motor costing over $10,000 with motor and labor. Please share so others are warned before buying from them.

Just had my car serviced at Randy Kuehl Honda and I was completely satisfied. Service staff was professional and friendly. Procedure was clearly explained. Work was completed ahead of schedule and reasonably priced.

Randy Kuehl honda is the WORST HONDA DEALERSHIP THAT IS RUDE TO ANYONE THAT DIDN’T PURCHASE A HONDA AT THEIR LOCATION THAT NEEDS A RECALL REPAIRED!!! And when attempting to speak to the owner about this issue he refused to speak to me and I was connected to the sales manager who continued their RUDE TREATMENT OF ANYONE WHO DID NOT PURCHASE THERE!!! Highly recommend everyone with a Honda vehicle go to Billion Honda in Iowa City as they resolved my recall issues quickly and were very courteous!!!

Horrible customer service to include Management. No follow-up for over 4 days and want to chalk it up to a bad day. Definitely not dealer of the year 2024 with their lack of empathy/service.

Chanin Dirks was great to work with. He was very personable and took the time to describe all features of the vehicle. Will certainly do business again for sure.

Had a great experience with purchasing our 2024 Honda crv. Mark McGlumphry was very knowledgeable and made our buying experience stress free. Also wanted to thank Jon for his help showing us some of the features the CRV had to offer.

Thank you to Chanin Dirks for working with me to get the car that I wanted with little contact as possible during this pandemic. I appreciate that you and those of your team that wore masks. You went the extra mile to get the car I wanted in a short time frame.

Two unsatisfactory visits to their service dept. First time they left the engine cover detached, grommets lost and I had to buy new ones. 2nd time they may have left car outside overnight and unlocked. Two guys at service desk were clueless and service manager said car was "probably" brought in overnight. Not at all reassuring. Also, I arrived at 7.30 am so I could wait while work done, but was told it had to stay for whole day and maybe overnight because the work would take "the whole day." The work only took the tech 45 minutes (2:05 - 2:50pm), so they could easily have done it while I waited. I live 20 miles away so that was important to me. I really wanted to support a small local dealership, but these experiences do not encourage another visit. They also refuse to wear masks
