Initially, I had a decent car buying experience.

Initially, I had a decent car buying experience. I did not feel pressured. When I went to pick up my car, it was a very different experience. I had called earlier in the day and spoken with Troy to tell them I was going to be coming in to pick up my car after work. He said he would inform Derek and they would have the car ready. I arrived and waited 20 minutes without even being acknowledged by anyone. I had to walk up to someone and ask to be helped. My car was not ready as promised. I had to continue to wait for the license to tags to be put on. When I finally got my car, all the tire pressure lights were on saying low pressure. Not a great experience.

I would not recommend this dealer to anyone.

I would not recommend this dealer to anyone. We had a terrible experience. We were sold an extended warranty that we did not want but we were told it was ‘necessary because they just replaced the engine’. They would not let us cancel the warranty. We waited over 45 days for the car deal to be completed due to numerous issues with the vehicle.

BEWARE: Lies and lack of integrity— they help give used

BEWARE: Lies and lack of integrity— they help give used car dealerships the bad rap. Our sales person was fine and low pressure. The issue was with the GM’s poor customer service and lack of interest in doing what’s right as well as the head of the sales manager and service directors lack of integrity and terrible communication. One of our car windows did not work but we didn’t realize it until after we left— we assumed we’d have four working windows when we spent almost $30k on a car. We were told to bring it to the service center. When we got there, the GM said he’d cover the diagnostic IF we committed to paying for the fix. They said they weren’t responsible for a working window. We pushed back because it is assumed basic things like windows would be working from a dealership like this. We ended up talking with a different manager and did not have to eat the cost. Additionally, the model and year of our car is more likely to have transmission concerns if the transmission flushes are not done regularly. I asked if a flush had been completed and they said they had looked and the fluid looked clean. I asked several times about this before purchasing the car because I had someone hesitation knowing that the transmission of this model and year had issues. When I went to the Honda dealership to get recalls fixed, I asked them to check that the transmission fluid was new. They said it is impossible to check the transmission fluid in the way Rocky Mountain Auto Brokers described doing so. I talked with five Honda dealerships to confirm their description was not possible. Rocky Mountain refused to do anything to fix this concern. I asked for them to do a transmission flush due to the consistent answer from dealerships that their method wasn’t valid, that a flush was due by 50,000 miles (I purchased the car at over 51k) or every 5 years (the car was 7 years old), and there was no record on the Carfax that the transmission has ever been serviced. They refused and said Honda was incorrect (even though I talked to five Hondas without telling them the circumstances and letting them know I was not going to have Honda complete the service). They used a Google search as their reference. I decided it was worth spending the money to get a transmission flush to ensure the maintenance was complete. I went to an independent mechanic and asked him to tell me the condition of the fluid when he did the flush. He said it was not changed and that Rocky Mountain Auto Brokers lied to me about the condition of the fluid. I returned to Rocky Mountain Auto Brokers to request a reimbursement of the transmission flush since they had blatantly lied to me multiple times. I talked to Troy on the phone before emailing him the paperwork from the independent mechanic. The email was sent on September 6. After not hearing back from him, I called and he said it went to junk mail. He said he would check into it and get back to me. After I hadn’t heard back from him in a week, I proceeded to leave 5 voicemails over 4 weeks asking him to call, email, or text me. He finally emailed me one month after the initial email saying the transmission is not part of their inspection so they would not reimburse me. So, either they lied to me multiple times about checking the transmission fluid before I purchased it or they are now lying that they don’t check the transmission. I was then transferred to Mike, the service director who has not responded to my email in almost two weeks. In his last communication, he said they don’t take responsibility for it because they don’t check it. I need to emphasize that I was LIED to and told the transmission fluid was clean and was checked by their service team— later, the service director admitted they don’t even check it!! He admitted they lied without acknowledging it. Rocky Mountain has consistently proven themselves to be dishonest and untrustworthy.

Dealer response

I want to clarify that the information being said about our interactions is not accurate. Below, I have included the same details from the original email I sent in response to the customer’s complaint regarding the transmission fluid condition. Along with this, I have provided documentation from ProDemand outlining the proper procedures and manufacturer-published maintenance intervals. Since I am unable to upload documents directly here, I copied and pasted all relevant information from my original email. If another associate may have provided inaccurate information regarding the services or inspections performed prior to the customer’s purchase, I sincerely apologize for any confusion this may have caused. Please know that we are always willing to provide full documentation supporting any inspections or services performed. At no point did I withhold information or act dishonestly in my communication. My intent has always been to ensure transparency and accuracy in representing the work completed. Sincere regards, Michael  J. Sapanaro Parts and Service Director Rocky Mountain Auto Brokers W: (719)-477-9009 ext. 2001 E: mike@rmabinc.com 4912 Carrera Pt Colorado Springs CO 80923 United States SEE COPY OF EMAIL SENT TO THE CUSTOMER 11/07/25 Mike Sapanaro Kallie R I have looked through your request and concern. After looking into manufacturers’ recommendations and mileage you are currently at, it was not time for a service when we had in our possession. Also, we would not check the fluid condition for it is a closed transmission unit, we would only move forward with a thorough check if we had symptoms such as drivability, leaks or indicator lights. None of these was present for we would follow the manufactures guidelines and not open or service the system unless it was required based on mileage or mechanical failure. We do take care of all major repairs and or safety items before we sell a car. Maintenance like this is left to the owner's expense. I hope that all makes sense. Please see attached documents showing proper procedure to check your transmission fluid and manufactures maintenance intervals from Honda. I hope you have a great weekend! Sincere regards, Michael J. I came in to purchase a used car that I fell in love

I came in to purchase a used car that I fell in love with. Not only was the finance manager I worked with (Vijay) absolutely wonderful, efficient, and thorough, the service department was extremely helpful! While I was waiting on paperwork and detailing of the car, they shared with me the best way to schedule service appointments, what I could expect as far as timelines, etc. Derek, Shane, and Mike were an absolute delight to be around while I was waiting on everything to be finalized. I know exactly where I'll be going the next time I need service done on this new to me car. Thank you all for your time, attention to detail, and efficiency in making this a wonderful dealership experience.
