We purchased a vehicle from Chris at 411Careline and thought we purchased a very clean, low mile reliable vehicle. Prior to purchase, Chris was very kind and non-pushy, which I appreciated. After test driving the vehicle we decided to purchase. After purchase we brought the vehicle to the Ford dealership for an oil change, it was then when we were made aware the car had multiple pending safety recalls – one recall was to prevent the car from starting on fire! These recalls were pending for over 3 years! We made the appointment to get the recall completed and during the appointment we were made aware that the recall was taking longer than normal because the car had a junkyard motor in it! Furthermore, the dealership gave us a list of items that were wrong due to the replacement engine being installed improperly. The dealership advised us that we would need to pay out of pocket to get the car back as the tech needed to fix issues before they could complete the recall safely. Here is a list of items the dealership noted wrong: • Found studs for exhaust mount to transmission missing • Transmission mount rubs on transfer case • Found starter shimmed away from transmission • Exhaust heat shield on body near subframe loose • Transmission cooler tube bent and rubbing on trans case • Vehicle has junkyard motor installed (noted by all paint markings on engine) • Would require several more hours of tech time to piece together car and find all missing / wrong items This was 1 week after we took delivery of the car. I was shocked and felt taken advantage of. I immediately called Chris to notify him of my findings and told him we would like to return the car and was surprised when he told me he would have to contact an attorney to see “how to handle this”. Chris told us multiple times they have their cars inspected by 3rd party mechanics prior to them listing for sale and swore all their cars are clean. Come to find out they pay a mechanic $30 to drive it around the block to make sure it is not leaking fluids and the brakes work. Chris told me he would get back to me, never once apologized or asked detailed questions about the dealership’s findings – I knew we made a mistake at this point. It took Chris a week to get back to us, he then sent a long email telling us they will not take the car back as the laws in MN do not require them to do so. They do ask if you want a 3rd party mechanic to look over the car, at the buyers expense, but I felt comfortable buying from them and the fact they had it inspected before they sold it was good enough for us. What a mistake! I would suggest you skip this dealership as they clearly take on cars that have issues or have had issues in the past and are unwilling to make things right if they find out otherwise. Right now, we have a vehicle that has a motor with unknown miles and lots of issues that need to be fixed. If anyone is interested in more details, I am happy to provide documentation.

We had a positive experience purchasing a used 2013 Toyota Sienna from this dealer. We got it for a fair price and they were conscientious about every detail of the transaction. Chris even did some research for me when something went wrong with the vehicle several months after we purchased it (when it was out of warranty) and recommended a shop that was able to source a part for a price far less than the Toyota dealer or Midas. Would look to purchase autos in the future from 411 Carline.

Brandon, Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. We really appreciate it as we know you are busy with your family. Glad the Sienna is working out well and unfortunate it had that issue, but glad it was also resolved! Part of the reason we offer aftermarket warranties for purchase as a safeguard for the future. This one was inspected by a shop of our choice and by a shop of your choice, neither of them or you or I could have seen that coming! We are glad we were able to point you in a direction that was of help and look forward to seeing you in the future. Thank you for your understanding, time and your business!
I purschaed a 2006 Subaru wrx Sti, Chris at the time i was inspecting the car was helpful and now that i look back, he tells you everything you want to hear. He gave me a list of things that had been serviced on the car inculding the most important which was a new performance clutch. They had a shop install it and he quoted he drive it for 500 miles with it installed. I purchased the car and within less than me putting 200 miles on the car. On the fourth day of owning this car, it would make a terrible grinding sound. I brought it to a very reputable shop and the took the starter out and sure to find out that the flywheel teeth are all chewed up and now needs to be replaced. The shop quoted me to fix it and it would be roughly $1,100. I called Chris and asked if we could working something out. Because there should be no reason i should have this issue on the 4th day. Chris responds to me “it’s a used car” “that kind of stuff happens” and i explained that the shop he had install the clutch did not put everything back correctly or the bolts were not torqued to factory spec. I received nothing but a attitude, and basically telling me suck it up it’s your problem. DO NOT come to 411Carline they are dishonest, and just try to hide mechanical problems from you. Since I’ve bought the car i have found out 4 issues the car has after i had test drive and purchased. I don’t want anyone else to be scammed and taken advantage of. If i could give a 0 rating i would give them a negative number. I’m very disappointed in 411Carkine and hope they clean their act up.

Hello Brody, Thank you for taking the time to write a review, we take them very seriously and are sorry to hear you had a bad experience. 411Carline strives for a 5 star review every time. It was unfortunate you threatened, which in this case is extortion to "blast us on social media if we did not pay for repairs," post sale. Let's outline a few things you failed to mention. We corresponded for a week prior to you stopping in to see the car, which gave you plenty of time to make an informed decision. Chris laid out the facts about the car, what was listed on the CarFax ( sent you a copy of this) and stated that an OEM style clutch was put in the car by a third party mechanic shop (not a performance clutch). He even went so far as to send you photos of the paint fading in spots that other people pointed out and that the car had been driven 400-500 miles post clutch job without issue. You then scheduled a pre-purchase inspection at a local mechanic shop of your choice, and scheduled a time to come see the car. You brought your cousin along who supposedly builds cars for a hobby, and you both test drove it, a total of 3 different times, including one time to the bank. You got the car inspected and had ample time to drive and check out the car, even went to lunch while the car was inspected. Did it have any starter issues at this point in time? (neither our prior 2 inspections at third party shops nor your pre-purchase inspection noted starting issues at the time). Chris asked you, "so what do you think? What would you like to do?" (absolutely no pressure to buy the car) You decided you would like to purchase the car, only at a discounted price. The car was listed at $14,900 plus tax title license, which was over $2k below NADA blue book retail value already (bank loan value). You agreed to purchase the car at $13,682.86 plus tax, title, & license fees ($14,750 out the door). This not only saved you $1217.14 on the car but also $79.11 in tax, a total of $1296.75 off of the original total purchase. At the time of purchase you signed THREE AS-IS statements. One on the purchase agreement, one on the Federal Buyers Guide, and one Notice of Vehicle without warranty, you received copies of all of these. You left with a large smile on your face and a happy buyer, in fact, both of you thanked Chris several times and shook hands twice. You purchased the car on 11/29/2017 and called the afternoon of 12/5/2017 already having the car at a shop of your choice with no definite answer on why there was a starting issue, leaving the last comment of your review invalid. Not only did you mention on the phone that it had not been taken apart, but you also sent three photos showing the car was not taken apart after you stated the bolts had not been properly torqued. How would they have checked the bolt torque without taking it apart? All in all, you purchased a performance car and 411CarLine has no way of knowing what happened or how it was driven for those 5 days after purchase and the car was purchased AS-IS No Warranty. You stated several times "I am going to have to get used to driving this clutch, it is far different." At no point were you told "this stuff happens." You were told this is a used car and you purchased it AS-IS at a highly discounted price so unfortunately this does not warrant covering a repair several days post sale. Once again, we apologize that you feel your experience was less than satisfactory and we really do wish you the best, and thank you for your service. We hope to have you give us a chance in the future when you are in the market again.
I had the pleasure to work with Chris, Aaron and Rhonda this spring and I cannot say enough about their knowledge and professionalism. I let them know what I was looking for and my price range and they found exactly the vehicle I wanted. The color of the car was not the ordinary color and they still found it. I also got all the extras I needed and the cost was less then I expected to pay!!! I have had my vehicle for a couple months now and have had absolutely no problems! I will definitely highly recommend this car dealership to my family and friend!s!! Thank you 411 Carline!!! Annette Hirsch. Dakota Dunes. SD

Hello Annette, We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and kind words. Being a family business this means so much. Also glad to hear you love the Volkswagen, it took some looking to find, but was a really nice find that should treat you very well for years to come. Part of the service we offer is finding those unique vehicles for people in the market. It sounds like it was a job well done, which is what 411Carline strives for in being of service. We look forward to seeing you in the future and hope the best for you. Be well and thanks again from the 411Carline family!
411 CARLINE IS WORTH 0 STARS! The owners tell you what you want to hear and boast a CarFax report although the local garage that 411 Carline has service their vehicles can't seem to find mechanical issues that would always make the consumer RUN the other way "if" reported on the CarFax report. (Example: brake work was done on the car, but the park brake mechanism was frozen on the calipers, NOTHING ON CARFAX & "I" had to fix right away) Hmmm. 411 Carline advertised a 1 year warranty online for the vehicle I bought which is a huge reason I drove 90 miles, so I didn't hesitate with the purchase. I took it for a ride in the residential areas and it seemed fine. After the purchase, I found the keyless entry didn't work, the car ran out of oil on the way home, parking brake didn't work, the car shook all the way home, tires were so low, the (leak constantly) air pressure didn't even show up on a gage for one tire. I noticed the keyless entry didn't work 5 minutes after the purchase and the owner said, "re-teach it with a new battery, my brother said there is nothing wrong with the vehicle" (SURPRISE, didn't work). After the mechanical issues kept building with the "CHECK ENGINE" light and other issues, I emailed the same owner and he emailed back that the business isn't doing well so he can't help me. I emailed this owner many times, & I have proof of many claims from him indicating one thing, but in other emails he indicates the opposite. The emails from this owner, would be very interesting to ANY consumer OR previous buyer, of 411 Carline. Anyway, the car burns 1 quart of oil every 200 miles and the owner said his brother drove the car for 600 miles prior to the sale. If that's true, the "low engine" light would have alerted them as it did me although they claim it burned NO oil. So, the car burns 1 quart of oil every 200 miles for me but nothing for 411 Carline? Hmmmm, interesting. There are THOUSANDS (possibly $6000 and I paid $8000 for the car) OF DOLLARS in REPAIRS, the "check engine" light comes on a few days after I buy it and the local garage can't find ANY of these issues. WHERE'S THE CARFAX?!! Hmmm, well he did tell me his Dad worked for Carfax, maybe that's the problem. I later tried to use the 1 year warranty only to find out this warranty will cover NOTHING. DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS COMPANY! GO TO A PRIVATE OWNER, PAY LESS, AND TAKE THE SAME CHANCE! I PAID ABOVE RETAIL FOR THIS CAR FROM A "DEALER" & I'VE HAD BETTER LUCK WITH PRIVATE OWNERS for years.

Dear Mr. Burrichter, Thank you for taking the time to write another review. We have provided information for the other facets through which you tried to make a case such as the BBB, the MN Attorney General, and the MN Dealer Unit. All of these entities saw no case for which any action was necessary. You signed 3 As-Is statements, and did test drive the car prior to purchase. You also purchased the car at a discount to account for you putting tires on it in the future and also received the FREE Gold Standard Powertrain and maintenance warranty. You also state you traveled here for the warranty when in fact you and your wife had went to look at a Salvage title vehicle prior to coming to look at ours. The car was not using oil when driven by a member of our business so that is why your claim 12 days after the purchase date, via email mind you, not phone call which is more direct, seems to be skeptical to say the least. If a vehicle has an issue right away, we expect a call immediately rather than nearly 2 weeks later. It then took you an additional 4 days to provide valid proof of your claims about the brake calipers, which seems much less urgent than your reviews suggest. The fact of the matter is, we are not Pontiac, we simply sell used cars. Sometimes they have issues which are outside of our control and typically when someone is respectful and sends a nice note, rather than "what are you going to do about it?" Then swearing in future emails, that is in no way productive or professional, and likely will not gain any help from anyone. Every vehicle now undergoes a safety inspection and oil change to prevent situations like this in the future, so thank you for that. This vehicle unfortunately was not inspected by a local mechanic, it was inspected by another dealer prior to us buying it from that dealer, which is documented on the CarFax when the brakes were replaced and the oil changed just 700 miles before you purchased it. The claim about the car needing a new engine to the tune of $6000 is completely false and unfounded, a replacement engine costs approximately $350-$850 so they are charging you nearly $5000 in labor? That seems a little outrageous considering it is 10.5 hours for engine replacement on a 2006 G6 with a 3.9L. Completely rebuilding the engine is 27 hours labor, which still does not add up to $6000. This claim came after the first claims about the brakes and ball joint, so also seemed skeptical. You did get a Gold Standard Maintenance/Warranty agreement for free with the purchase. You disregarded suggestions to save money on parts for the brakes and failed to use the warranty you battled at time of sale to have. It will not cover parts that are not internally lubricated on the engine, which was explained as well. The mechanic must make a case for the coverage, which again shows the engine replacement claim to be altered or fabricated, with no supporting documents from a professional. A local garage more often than not will not show up on a CarFax and it shows what service is done, not what is wrong with a vehicle. Lastly, you paid retail NADA book value plus tax, title, and license for the vehicle, so again not true. 411Carline has plenty of happy customers, many of them return, and actually encourages people to take vehicles for a pre-purchase inspection which is generally unheard of at dealerships. We also prefer to work things out with people on an individual basis when problems arise right away in any used car. They contact us in a respectful, direct and quick manner such as an immediate phone call. All in all, you have been fighting continuously for months, you signed AS-IS forms, did not contact the seller within a timely fashion, as well used threatening and defamatory language based on false information. The BBB, the MN Attorney General and the MN Dealer Unit saw no fault in the supporting documents which were provided by 411Carline. You can continue to slander our business, family and livelihood, or you could live and let live, letting go of the past. I choose to do the latter with situations like these as it causes less harm, and stress, things happen in life
Mr. Longtin, CAN YOU BE HONEST JUST ONCE? I assume it would take an intelligent person to be a successful liar, so I’ll point out to our readers how dishonest you really are, in the next few sentences. The BBB, Attorney General, & MN Dealer have NO AUTHORITY to do ANYTHING regarding this matter. They act as a mediator between YOU & I, and you know that, so don’t attempt to be dishonest to the potential consumers who read this post. NO organization has exonerated 411 Carline from wrong doing and couldn’t. Also, the Attorney General instructed me to take you & 411 Carline to Conciliation Court while providing me with a guide for court which I would never need, as I’ve explained to you in emails. As far as “AS-IS” documents, have you STARTED putting BUYER’S GUIDES on your inventory YET as MN State Statute says you MUST? I reported that FACT to the MN Dealer and Attorney General months ago, so I assume they contacted you. Because when we purchased the vehicle from you, there was NO Buyer’s Guide on the vehicle that I bought or any other vehicle within your inventory. That’s a violation of law. So, you advertise that a car has a 1 year warranty online (not really), and then “hide” the Buyer’s Guide underneath all the papers you put in my folder? You are a class act (not). The truth is the AS-IS Buyer’s Guide was NEVER provided to me on the day of sale, nor did I see it AT ALL until AFTER I had major mechanical issues & found it in the folder you provided on the day of sale. You DIDN’T discount the car for tires; tires were NEVER discussed during price negotiations (relevance?). I mentioned the tires were half worn along with the oxidized headlights when I initially looked at the car, & then you wrote on the receipt “tires, budget” for discount reasons? The TRUE story is, during price negotiations, I told you I wouldn’t pay $8600 with tax. You asked if I would pay $8200 with tax. I said, “Yes”. That’s the short, simple, & TRUE story behind the price negotiation that you continue to bring up. TELL THE TRUTH FOR ONCE. Oil ran out on the way home & yes I waited until I noticed it wasn’t an honest mistake on your part & noticed at least 5-8 more major issues wrong with the vehicle before I emailed you. Yes, I emailed you instead of making “a friendly call”. At that point, I noticed your true character by selling me a junk car. As I assumed, your emails indicate several untruths and contradictions while telling me to sell the car to someone else? Really? Disrespectful emails? Swearing? I emailed you to change the oil in your vehicles after you basically told me to pound sand when I complained about several issues with the car & in response to your email that the oil was NOT changed in the car prior; now you say it was changed? Where can you find an engine for $350-850?? This is the year 2017, not 1980. It’s an uncommon engine and a short block could not be found. I believe the long block is $3700 from a major dealership, plus the labor to install; I “DO” have proof from a professional ASE Certified mechanic. The Gold Standard Warranty doesn’t start until 45 days after purchase, so I finally attempted to use it, and the rep told my mechanic that he must tear apart the engine, have their inspector come out & inspect it. If it’s not covered, all of that labor is on me; I know how that will end. The bill should be 411 Carline’s. Show me a professional repair shop that lets you bring in your own parts; it doesn’t exist. Brake calipers were replaced by my mechanic as your mechanic changed pads & didn’t notice the frozen e-brake mechanisms on the calipers, plus a missing bolt on 1 caliper (WOW)? Your advertised price was $900+ over book; you took $400 off final price, so still above book. You encourage people to take vehicles to have them inspected? You must have adopted that action since my purchase; better get those Buyers Guides on the windows too. I was nice until you would NOT help with any of the issues that YOU sold me the car with (per emails). Slander? Again, I have many pics, dates, witnesses, saved empty quarts of oil, receipts, and emails to prove you are nothing short of a BAD NAME FOR A USED CAR SALESMAN. Let it go? I have a few years to NOT let this go unless I get a large portion of money refunded. I’m nowhere near financial hardship, but I wouldn’t involuntarily throw $8200 in the garbage, and “let it go” as you put it. I HAVE NO REASON TO LIE; YOU HAVE 8 THOUSAND 2 HUNDRED REASONS ($8200).
I worked with Chris to find exactly the car I was looking for that was within my budget. The Volkswagen Passat had a few issues and he worked with me to get everything resolved fast and efficiently. There was great communication, no-hassle negotiations and a very relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I'd recommend anyone looking to buy a used car give them a call or stop by and have a look. I'll be dealing with 411 Carline again in the future, I have no doubt.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to write a kind review. It means a lot. I am glad we could get things worked out in a timely fashion, used cars sometimes don't always cooperate so we prefer to work it out on a situational basis, and I am happy we could come to an agreement. Hello Enjoli, Thank you so much for your kind remarks. We do our best to work with people when they are nice about a problem or situation with a vehicle. This was nearly a month and a half after the purchase, and we are not liable but it felt like the right thing to do for a nice lady. We appreciate your business and your kind words, this is the reason our family go into this business. Hope you had a great Christmas, and stop in sometime when you are in the area. Best wishes to you and your sons!
I recently bought a car from this guys and I am pretty satisfied with my purchase, I live in different state about 1000 miles away from this dealership and I saw this car on cars.com and called them right away, I talked to Mike the owner, and we had a nice chat about this car , so I ended up flying in and now I'm a happy owner of the nice car, thank you guys at 411Carline so much

Hello Max, It was a pleasure working with you! Thank you so much for taking your time to write reviews! It does take quite a bit of trust to fly several states away on a person's word. Glad the buying experience was just what it should be comfortable, easy and satisfying! Will definitely be looking you up when we come out to Colorado some day. Many thanks and best wishes!
Working with Chris was a great experience overall. He was great at following up all phone calls and answered all of my questions honestly. I'm a college student, and this was my first time buying a car. It was nice that he was willing to work with me and my dad. He was very flexible on times and allowed me to set up a few separate meeting times. The entire process went smoothly, thanks to Chris. I couldn't be happier.

Hello Emj, Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate it more thank you know. It was a pleasure working with you and your father, and finding out similar connections in past family history from southern MN. Such a "small world" sometimes. 411CarLine is so glad you were able to get into the Pontiac G6, a perfect car for a college student, and one that happened to be from a member of our family. We take pride in being comfortable and flexible in meeting with you, and are thrilled you had a good experience! That is how it should be, car buying should be easy with no hassle. We wish you the best with school and your future endeavors. Feel free to stop in any time you are in the area to say hi. Sincerely, 411Carline
