My experience with Carmax in the beginning was good with

My experience with Carmax in the beginning was good with the Salesperson till after the purchase and the vehicle was already in my possession, is when I received the call from the manager that the Loan did not go through for the payment that was initially signed off for. I personally had talked to the Loan company and was told it was good to go but Carmax told me that it was not funded and would need to be looked into, mind you I did have the vehicle already. I was kept in waiting for over two weeks to see if I needed to bring back the vehicle and come back to Carmax and fill out paperwork for lesser month payment but in the meantime, I was in touch with the Manager from the Loan company and they saw no problem on their end. Finally, after two weeks I get a text from the manager from Carmax that it was funded, I felt that it was so unprofessional after all the waiting no phone call no personal touch bad customer service. During that time, I was stressed out because the car was for my daughter, and she had already made the car her own. My experience was stressful and will NOT purchase a vehicle from them again.

My spouse and I absolutely recommend CarMax.

My spouse and I absolutely recommend CarMax. My Dad bought his last two cars from CM, my sister just bought one from CM, and we just bought our 2nd from CM. Customer Service was excellent, as usual. Neither of us can think of a negative thing to say. We found the right car for us at a price we could afford. And we are happy. I'm embarrassed that I don't remember the agent's name; I should be able to thank him here in print.

You can’t go wrong with Carmax’s process for buying and

You can’t go wrong with Carmax’s process for buying and selling cars. We hand a great experience with our salesman! However the service department didn’t meet our expectations, we were sold two keys, but noticed that one key blade was missing. We went to ask the service department about it and they told us we would have to get a new key cut somewhere else as they only guarantee one key, although the car was presented with “two” keys. This was after we asked two men who were too busy on their phones to notice we were there, when we got their attention, they said oh we are just “assistants” you need to talk to someone else, then they got back on their phones while we waited for the other service representative.

My salesman provided the upmost great customer service

My salesman provided the upmost great customer service skills and was quite patient with me as I viewed and drove a few cars and trucks until I found the right match. Definitely would recommend him moving forward and Carmax as well.

The sales process was seamless as usual.

The sales process was seamless as usual. Matt did a great job with everything. Upon express checkout, I was advised that my SUV came with only one FOB, I feel that should have been mentioned earlier. Also, the vehicle wasn’t as clean as those we have purchased in the past.

I knew the vehicle and specs I wanted and found the right

I knew the vehicle and specs I wanted and found the right one in another state. I had the vehicle shipped to my local Carmax and they had it cleaned and ready for me to test drive. I found an issue with the vehicle at time of purchase, and they replaced and repaired the part quickly, provided a loaner vehicle, and communicated updates. At pick up they put a bow on it and took a family photo with the new car. My kids were thrilled, and mom has an awesome new Lincoln Aviator! Everyone we worked with was easy to talk to, no pressure or stress like a dealership often feels. Our sales rep Asad was helpful in making sure all our needs were met, reviewing vehicle history, and gave options for service and warranty. We got a good price on our trade right away. To anyone seeking a used vehicle, I highly recommend researching, test driving lots of options, and then searching Carmax!

Worst car buying experience ever.

Worst car buying experience ever. Selected car and began the buying process. Every step was so fragmented with a different person. They wouldn't tell you anything about future steps until you were at that step and if they did because you were specifically asking, then the info was wrong. The whole process was over a week and at the end we were so fed up that we canceled it at the end. Despite that they still tried to deliver the car. The communication was beyond lacking, it was atrocious! They are also overly invasive demand full SSN (even when not financing through them) and if you are paying in full, they require you to log into your banking information, through their site btw, so they can access your personal accounts to "confirm" funds. They won't accept bank statements or receipts. They also lie about how this process works or don't disclose all this until you try to do it. Ultimately this whole company is not worth it.

Disappointment and Disrespected

The staff online and over the phone were more than helpful and friendly, but as soon as I stepped in the showroom things went south, and it went there in a hurry. I was prepared to pay for a vehicle, in cash mind you, that was shipped from another location of theirs. The vehicle was on their lot for two days before I went to my appointment to look at it. Upon arrival, the receptionist had no clue why I was there in the first place. I then had to wait an additional 20 minutes before a salesperson could help me. While waiting, I walked out to the vehicle to look it over and it was in no way, shape or form presentable for a buyer. The exterior was filthy and covered in grease and the wheels were coated in a film of grime. The bed of the truck has scratched and banged up in a way that shouldn't be for a truck that has 3000 miles on it. The sales manager even agreed that the way the truck was presented was not acceptable and proceeded to do nothing about at that moment other than try to pressure me into buying the vehicle right then and there. He said that we could bring it back after the weekend to have the cosmetic team look at it to possibly fix things... When I told him that I would not be buying it that night due to the condition it was in, it seemed as if he could care less. When I mentioned that I was prepared to purchase with cash, he rolled his eyes at me and at that point, he lost my business for life.
