First, I have no idea who Corbin Johnson is!
First, I have no idea who Corbin Johnson is! As far as Honda of the Avenues goes, one star is too high a rating. Yes, I think we received a good deal on our new Honda. However, the price we paid in poor communication before we arrived and the absolute worst treatment when we arrived was inexcusable. Two hours into this saga, with no progress to finalize the purchase, we considered walking away. It appeared like our salesman was not happy about something and he was taking his frustration out on us. The only thing holding us back was the time already spent on countless phone calls, $1,000 deposit and a five-hour, 350-mile drive to pick-up the car. Given the amount of information provided over the phone and email, unfreezing our credit and answering every question posed to us, we expected to walk in, have all the paperwork completed, sign the necessary documents and be on our way. With a down payment of $29,948, financing $10,000, this deal was a no brainer. When we finally reached the finance managers office, Rammie did everything he could to expedite his work. However, being new to the dealership and their computer system, slowed him as well. Over four hours after arriving and a new license plate on the car, my wife had to go hunt down the keys to the car so we could finally leave. When she confronted our salesman and pointed out some things she thought he could improve, he attempted to blame her for the lack of communication. Even though he offered to answer questions about the car's operation, at that point she was so done with him and Honda of the Avenues, she couldn't get away fast enough. We are learning the vehicle's operation on YouTube. Since both of us spent most of our professional careers in positions that required exceptional skills interacting with others, her managing a medical practice with over 80 doctors and me operating our high-end retail business, our experience at Honda of the Avenues indicated a lack of sales staff training. We both strongly recommend that the sales staff be provided education in all aspects of selling automobiles and training in people skills. Training that will motivate the customer to return to the dealership. Also, a check list should be developed and used by the sales staff with each customer, to gather information to facilitate the sales process whether they purchase or not. It should be the sales manager's responsibility to review these reports with the sales person. A good sales person never stops learning and honing their skills. Selling and purchasing a vehicle is a detailed business. For example, we were never asked whose name(s) we wanted on the title. During the financing process we realized both names were not going on the title. This created another delay while my wife completed a credit application and thawed her credit. Really! Would we recommend Honda of the Avenues to others for a vehicle purchase? Absolutely, not. Would we ever return to Honda of the Avenues to purchase another vehicle? Absolutely not. If we lived close to the dealership, would we return for service? Absolutely not. Even this evaluation does not list a single person we delt with at the dealership. Just another indication that this dealership is in need of top down training. In conclusion, I seriously doubt anything will change at Honda of the Avenues based on this review. However, if this was our business, significant changes would occur.
