Consistently disappointed by the service department.
I have had several, three separate, appointments for the service department were multiple issues needed to be addressed on my vehicle and I brought in an physical list for them. … When I come to pick up the vehicle one of the items is incomplete, and I’m offered the opportunity to set another appointment in the future. But it is inconvenient for me to be without of a vehicle that I need for work. This past winter I got a flat tire. After changing my tire in over 10 inches of snow on the side of the road I was surprised to find my spare tire had about 5 pounds of pressure in it.... especially since I had been in for multiple “the works “oil changes recently. The largest disappointment in this vehicle purchase is the prepaid maintenance oil change package that I’ve sold… I was not going to purchase this package but the one thing that the woman told me that made me buy it was this, she said; “that when I come in for a works oil change they plug the vehicle into the computer system every time to make sure that it is operating correctly and if there any updates for the computer system those are installed immediately” … So , A week before my most recent scheduled oil change my service engine light comes on, I called the dealership to ask if they will be able to diagnose the light during the oil change, and I’m told they are too busy plus the lube technician does not have the training to do this. So I took it to AutoZone and in 30 seconds some 16-year-old kid with a $12 tool told me what the light meant. The guys working at AutoZone agreed that it was an omissions issue and an update for the computer system would probably void the light… I was happy thinking my oil change was coming up and that the service department was going to plug-in and update my truck computer next week. When I arrive from my oil change that morning I had mentioned to the technician the light situation and the computer update that I was expecting… He looked at me like I was an idiot and said we don’t do that we’ve never done that we don’t plug-in vehicles during oil changes… My level of disappointment was unmeasurable at that moment.

We do have the ability to read a code quickly, like AutoZone, but the diagnosis of a problem could take more time. Griffin values your time and always tries to give our customers a reasonable prediction on how long we might need to help. The maintenance package does include an inspection of the vehicle, but the computer diagnosis and update of any computer system is separate from that. Your package also includes the oil changes and tire rotations. Our Finance Department may have mentioned another warranty that covered more, perhaps. Fast, friendly, frugal, dare I say fun?
Griffin is unlike other dealers I've been to. Friendly at every touchpoint. Engaged and knowledgeable staff. Looking out for you too, asking for example if it is really worth 2 hours of hunting down a super minor electrical issue. Then let me make the choice. Waiting area is comfortable and they have coffee and snacks and wifi.

Tire replacement
Very good service people who catered to my special requests and not only understood the mechanics of wheel balancing and tire installation, but had the appropriate equipment onsite.

Little frustrated
Brought car in for a repair on a speed sensor, but they weren't able to check the car for a transmission leak which I found out about at an appt prior to this one at an oil change there. Told me, transmission tech wasnt in. I drove all the way from Racine to get some things taken care of. Pretty frustrated, Arlo

Busy but effective
I have often praised the service and attentiveness of Griffin service to my friends. My most recent visit was acceptable but it was not of the same category. When scheduling the service long in advance, I told the service scheduler a specific matter that needed to be fixed. It was fixed. I also told the scheduler that I wanted a complete evaluation of the condition of my vehicle to determine if I would keep it or buy a new car. When I arrived for the scheduled service, the service person was totally unaware of the second very important purpose and told me about numerous limitations in making the evaluation given how busy and understaffed they were that day. I felt like I did not get the information needed to make a decision about my car.

Great new car delivery
Pete Tagtow was able to accommodate an earlier delivery of my F150 due to a conflict. He kept the process moving while we waited for the Finance person pulled together the necessary paperwork we needed to sign. One question, made a sizable payment by check but never received a receipt?
