They were able to get the car I wanted (from Kentucky) but the process of buying was WAY TOO LONG!

We had an amazing experience with Amanda and AK. The process was really easy and constructive and enjoyable. They were both very helpful, honest and capable. Thank you! We are very happy with our car so won’t need to be back for a while, but certainly want to spread the word for others

I was trying to get information on a car at this dealer. I first did an online chat with a rep in Arizona, then another with a rep in NC. Neither of them could answer my questions, nor could they put me in contact with anyone at the right location. I then tried getting a price for my trade in, and the result was thousands of dollars lower than what I had been offered elsewhere. I will never shop here again - it is too annoying and frustrating.

We purchased a Toyota prius. We expected to pay extra, but thought that the car would not need significant work for at least a year. I was pleased with the purchase process and gave them great reviews. A month and a half after the purchase (2 weeks after the 30 day warranty) we noticed an issue with the car. I took the car to the carmax service department and they suggested taking it to a toyota specialist. The total cost from the specialist to repair the issue will be close to $1,000. I talked to the carmax manager to let him know my disappointment. He told me that I should have purchased the warranty and said that he would check with his service department to see if they could do the work for less money. He assured me that he would talk to the service group and that I would get a callback the next morning. I never recieved the callback. Lessons learned from the Carmax experience. It is not worth it to pay a little more for a used car at Carmax. If you need to work with them later the customer service is horrible.

Justin the CSR performed an appraisal on our 2012 Jeep Liberty. I would say that the liberty is in fair condition as it does have some scratches and dings, with the airbag light on as a recall. The Sales rep said that it was stuck in 4WD and that the ABS light was on. Only light on the dash is the Airbag light. If stuck in 4WD, and indicator light on the dash would show. So, I believe that an experienced and/or certified technician should be the ones to perform an appraisal first of all. Do all of the Sales Reps at Carmax have ASE certification? Because they obviously do not know much about vehicles. Even though they advertise that they will buy your car, other dealerships will work with you and actually take the vehicle in the shop as part of an appraisal. I strongly recommend to Steer Clear of Carmax.

Be Prepared to spend WAY more money on your car after purchasing! I will never purchase a car from Carmax again. I have not owned my car for a complete year and it has already cost me close to 2,000 dollars in repair. I was sold an AWD vehicle with 3 different brands of tires on it, one tire which was older then the car itself. AWD cars are supposed to have the same tread pattern, and my car had three different ones, one of which was dry rotted and a safety hazard. I now have to brakes, rotors and belts. Carmax is doing nothing to fix this situation. I am appalled by this business, and beyond dissatisfied. Run far away!
