Service department at Carmax superceded my expectations! Called to have a service done on my Nissan and they were able to accommodate my tight schedule... even though they did explain their schedules were tight as well. The amount of time I waited was far less than any dealer I've ever been to, and Dave in the service department greeted me by name and wore a smile until I left! They even washed my car for me and let me know if there was anything I needed to not hesitate to give them a call.
Richard, who helped my fiancé and I, was extremely knowledgeable, patient and honest with us. He really helped us narrow down what we want and made our... visit very enjoyable.
Bought a 2009 Honda Accord at Carmax in Charleston SC. The overall buying experience was a good one, but the service department is terrible. When you call... the automated line and are prompted to press 4 for repairs it goes to a message that says calls cannot be taken at this time. I called back and went through sales to have someone transfer me to the service department. Left a message on someone's voicemail to call me back so I could schedule an oil change. They never called back. This is the 2nd time I've went through this with them. Sales department I would give 4 stars. Service department gets a 0.
Went into the Carmax store just to look for a car for future purchase. I was greet immediately by Mr. Carl R Emery and from there things went smoothly.... We asked about cars and he talk to us a little about them and told us to have a look and call on him if we need to look in, test drive or just ask question about any of the vehicles. We end up buying a car! Customer service was great and now we will have to drive the car for a little while before I will make any comments. OVERALL the experience.
