Reviews
had a terrible experience with Marshall Auto Auction and First State Auto Auction, which appear to use the same address. I was required to pay before being allowed to properly inspect the vehicle. After the purchase, I discovered serious problems, including overheating and an antifreeze leak, along with concerns about the mileage and how the vehicle was represented. When I requested help or a refund, they refused and relied on the “as-is” policy. Please be extremely careful. Verify the business name, address, vehicle mileage, paperwork, and mechanical condition before paying anything. I have reported this matter to the BBB and other appropriate agencies. I’m sharing my honest experience to warn other buyers.

Warning About First Marshall Auto Auction Caution: I strongly recommend doing your due diligence before purchasing a vehicle from First Marshall Auto Auction in Harvey. Based on my experience, I would advise potential buyers to have any vehicle thoroughly inspected by an independent mechanic before bidding or purchasing. I experienced serious mechanical issues shortly after purchasing a vehicle, including concerns that the check-engine light may have been temporarily disabled before the sale. This resulted in significant unexpected repair expenses. There are also additional fees—approximately $600 on top of the winning bid—and I experienced a lengthy wait for the vehicle title. While waiting, you may be limited to driving with a temporary permit and unable to properly register or resell the vehicle. Communication was another major concern, as my calls were not consistently returned. I am sharing this review to encourage prospective buyers to inspect the vehicle carefully, ask questions about its history and mechanical condition, understand all fees, and confirm the title process before placing a bid. Rating breakdown (out of 5): - Vehicle condition/transparency: ⭐ - Customer service/communication: ⭐ - Title processing: ⭐ - Fees/value: ⭐ - Overall experience: ⭐ Overall: ⭐ 1/5 Please do your research and proceed with caution.

Went with my daughter looking for a car. Not allowed to see anything before paying a $800 non refundable fee. Drove 2 + hours to get hassled. This place should be closed down. By the secretary of State. Because it's unethical and is a shakedown!

total scam, 1800 hidden charges, i walked into the auction and was rushed by a salesman who asked me what car i wanted. I told him he said there was two bids on the car, but no one was bidding, he lied the car never even drove through the auction, i never got to see the car, i told the sales man that i wanted to see the car, he said that all their vehicles run great he said everybody likes that car , he said put a down payment and we could see it after the auction, so like a uneducated fool i am i did , after the auction they told me to come back tomorrow because their was 1800 in hidden charges i was aware of, they only except cash, i came back the next the the started the car the engine was knocking loud and oil was spraying out of the exhaust i refused to buy it, they told me to come back next Tuesday, they would sell me any car in their lot at their listed sales price, i came back next Tuesday and choose two cars i was interested in buying they they increased the listed sale price by 3x the listed sale price was 3500 he made me pay 5000 for the car that he said had 45000 miles the listed vehicle on their web site said the car had 45000 miles my sales receipt says the car had 45000 miles but the button on the car didn't work so i could not view the millage again the guy assured me all their vehicles mileage was correct i liked the cart it sounded good they had 1000 of mine was not going to get back so i bought the car i got the mil meter to work the car has 191,000 miles on it , they have been reported to the better business burial , multiple times its a shame because they have the capability to be a good business but they choose to deceive people and follow bad practices their first law suits will be a slap on the hand until the judges gavel comes down and a few of them will be thrown in jail and they will lose a good business you cant cover your tracks when your burning rubber all over town my lawyer is going to press charges for mail practice and fraud and malpractice

They never got back to me about my inquiry. And when I called the recording said when they were open and when they were not. So I made plans to go there and called on my way there and found out they weren't open like they said they would be on their message.
