I would strongly caution anyone considering buying a vehicle from this dealership to do extensive research and have any vehicle independently inspected before purchasing. We purchased a used truck that was advertised as being in good mechanical condition and “clean and rust free.” We were told this in the listing, in messages, and in person. We did take the truck for a short test drive before purchasing, but the mechanical issues and coolant leak were not apparent during that approximately 10-minute drive. During our hour-long drive home, the truck began overheating, warning lights came on, and we had to stop halfway home to add a gallon of coolant due to a leak. We immediately took the truck to our mechanic, who found multiple mechanical issues as well as severe rust that was concealed with paint, which the dealer later admitted to doing. This was not disclosed to us before purchase. We also discovered the truck had an emissions system deletion that was not disclosed, making the vehicle illegal to operate on public roads. The dealership owner offered to replace the rusted-out bed with another bed sourced from out of state. However, the replacement bed was not the same color and was covered in dents. We declined this offer because we did not feel safe driving the truck the hour back to the dealership, we were not in a position to pay for towing there and back, and after discovering the true condition of the truck and the undisclosed issues, we did not feel comfortable having the dealership’s mechanic complete repairs. This is not a case of buyers remorse. We understood we were purchasing a used vehicle and expected that there could be normal wear and age-related issues. Our issue is that the truck was not in the condition it was advertised and represented to be, and that major problems and concealed defects were discovered immediately after purchase. At this point, the truck was not safe for us to continue driving and we were put in the position of owning a vehicle we could not safely or legally use. When we brought these issues to the dealership, they refused to take responsibility and relied on the “as-is” paperwork, despite the vehicle not matching the condition it was advertised and represented to be in. One of our biggest regrets was trusting the dealership owner’s words and representations. He presented himself as someone with strong values and honesty, which made us feel comfortable moving forward with the purchase. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect the trust and transparency we expected. Buying a vehicle is a major purchase, and customers deserve honest descriptions and full disclosure. Our experience was extremely disappointing, and we would not recommend this dealership.

Dan does a very good job of low pressure selling, and he is extremely knowledgeable about cars - not just what it takes to make them look good - but the mechanical issues that every person in his business should know. He follows through with his words.

First impression sales rep was an upfront guy a week later someone pointed out there is overspray from the truck being repainted even though it had a clean Carfax. Fast forward a month and half later truck is in shop for engine repairs. he has been nothing but rude and warranty won’t cover because there’s no light even if there is a failure. Spoke over and over that he sells reliable cars but wants no part of a 10k plus engine repair. Yes I declined the extended warranty but this fell under the 3 month warranty that he gives but it only covers 750$ Do yourself a favor go somewhere else. He sells vehicles at a cheaper price because he knows there’s something wrong with it and hopes you miss it.

I purchased a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse 1/23/2025. I've had 3 mechanical issues during that time(1st one a few days after, 2nd one 1 week after, and 3rd about 3 weeks after). 2 of those made the vehicle inoperable for days at a time. Now it is 3/10/2025 and my temporary tag expired yesterday and I still do NOT have the memorandum title to get plates so the car is AGAIN inoperable. Contacted Solid Rock and Dan claimed he mailed it nut he does not use a tracking number and does not control the mail. His suggestion is I can just keep waiting or I can go to the title bureau and get a duplicate. No apology or care. I should NOT have to waste more of my time and money(gas) to go get a duplicate title. I've never had a problem from a regular car dealership. This has been by far the worst car buying experience I've ever had and I will never recommend or purchase another vehicle from Solid Rock or any other small dealership.

Once again Solid Rock Auto has been my go to for quality vehicles. I've been dealing with them for 15 years now, never had a problem, never been pressured, only thing given was straight up facts. This facility is super easy to do business with. So if your looking for your next vehicle.... go there and see for yourself, you will have the best buying experience for a used vehicle.
