New Car Purchase Experience

Could never have asked for a better or thought one ever existed with purchasing a new vehicle from Stanford of Winchester. Kegan Davis was our sales rep and he was by far the best I’ve ever dealt with in my car purchase experiences. My wife and I highly recommend Kegan and also recommend Safford Of Winchester if you’re looking to purchase a car. We drove an hour and a half to the dealership and will do it all over again when the time comes. Kegan and the rest of the staff that helped with our purchase did an outstanding job and it was by far the best car purchase experience my wife and I ever had. Kegan was knowledgeable, patient, helpful and courteous through out the whole process. Goto Safford Of Winchester to purchase a car. Ask for Kegan or any of the other sales reps ... they set the threshold for car purchase experiences because everyone who works at Safford Of Winchester is above the standard for doing a great job!

Nightmare

whole deal has been a nightmare. bought car and got it on interstate check engine light came on. then i called and spoke with mary who i signed papers with who said nothing they can do once its pulled off lot that is what extended warranty is for. so i called extended warranty they said sounded like pre existing so they wont cover it. so i contacted va attorney general and then 2 days later safford called to tell me to take it down to be fixed. they replaced fuel pump at that time. i told them it sounded like exhaust leak. i went to pick it up check engine light is still on. the guy comes out and erases code and says your good to go. i said that isnt fixing it. so light came right back on while driving home. called to get ahold if rosa and didnt hear back for several days and then i get email from attorney general saying safford has fixed the issue. i had to reply stating it isnt fixed the light is still on. i then get ahold of jon the general manager who helped me the most and was trying to fix the problems. he had me bring it back down and gave me another rental and they fixed the o2 sensor and catalyst converter. when i went to pick it up the service guy said the code showed as old and appeared to have been erased so makes me think it was done prior to me buying car. Jon stayed in contact with me to let me know the progress. Now i have car back and was told to go to mva to get my tags and since i paid safford for tags i wouldnt have to pay mva so i went to mva and was told no either they need to give you something to show you paid or they will send papers however mva said they are 30 days behind on mailing tags. today Mary calls me back with a attitude saying i was told from get go they will do my tags and about how i should have knew papers i was signing. which i knew they told me that from get go however tuesday they said to go get tags at mva. i told her this whole process has been a nightmare and she got snippy again so i brought up about the attorney general which didnt help her attitude any. so this place has horrible customer service skills and one person dont know what the other is doing and not organized. i recommend if you do deal with this place ask for Jon the general manager because he is great and has been the only person willing to help and not get a attitude.

Once we were notified of the issue with the vehicle we were able to quickly rectify it at no charge. We also handled the Maryland fees and paperwork however the vehicle still required the Maryland state safety inspection which wasn't performed until after the repairs were made. Once the the inspection was completed we are able to complete the paperwork and have the tags processed.

Steve is cool

I bought from Steve previously but sadly this time didn’t pan out as the Jeep I wanted was in process of being bought as I was looking at it.. I’d still return because Steve is nice to work with..

Problems here

Problems here. Vital info was withheld during my purchase experience. Over 3,200 extra miles had been put on a car above what was advertised, in less than 6 weeks. This was shared after a price had been agreed upon, financing arranged, and a pickup date/time set. I was told an employee had been using it but just brought it back. No price adjustments would be made after this disclosure; they did agree to change the oil. They were somewhat difficult to communicate with. A financing offer, normally a 20 minute decision, stretched out over 5 days. This seemed to be due to an internal lack of communication (it seemed to be a surprise the next day when I called to follow up that I had even sent it, and it had to be “found”). That, combined with weekdays off, caused an extremely slow communication process. We took our business elsewhere as a result.

We are very sorry this happened Kelly. This was, in fact, a demo vehicle for one of our managers so we did initially take an additional amount off of the price. Due to the higher mileage that it acquired we also agreed to the oil change as well. We apologize for any possible miscommunication during the process. We were not aware of any issues as we were awaiting your arrival for your scheduled appointment with us that weekend. Your feedback is important to us and greatly appreciated. We will most definitely take this into account in the future.

Hostile Sales Manager Yelled & Stormed

I would give this dealership -1 stars due to the hostility & how the manager of the used car dealership treated us. My husband and I saw a truck we liked & negotiated with them & it didn't work out. So, we thought about it & called them the next day and the price worked out. I then asked if it was too late for us to come in (it was 8:30 and we were already in Winchester). They asked if Sunday would work - and we were going to be out of town. So they said to come in. We arrived and started the purchasing process immediately. My bank had to process the loan and send the dealership some info, etc etc. That took a while - longer than we thought. I asked a sales person who dealt with the signing of the papers if we could come back later - he said no, it was not possible. It was a hour past closing and I felt really bad it was taking forever for my bank to complete the paperwork. Keep in mind, I already asked at the beginning if it was too late for us to come in at 8:30 and they said no, it is okay. I wished they would have said No, it is too late we wouldn't have enough time to do the process. Turns out the process finally completed around a hour and half past closing. We were also exhausted and eager to go home because the next day we had to go to Philly. I could not believe what I saw when we walked into the used car dealership - the sales manager was YELLING some things in front of us and he grabbed his bag, stormed out and the door shut hard behind him. Apparently he thought he could get away with it because we are Deaf. The sales men were quiet and just sat there professionally. The sales manager did not even acknowledge my husband and I - he practically made us feel like we burglarized the dealership in the middle of the night with all the yelling and storming out. He also left behind his workers to "close up". Truly APPALLING. I am telling all of my friends, family, and co-workers to STAY FAR AWAY from this place! Steve should be the sales manager because Steve was professional 100% of the time and he stayed and closed up after everyone left. Steve shook our hands and congratulated on our purchase of the truck. We will not be coming back for servicing for our jeep or for our new truck.

Safford of Winchester

This is the best dealership I have ever been to. And that's saying a lot. I have owned many vehicles and I have never been treated as well in my life as safford treated me. Words can't describe the quality of people there. They let me know the status of my vehicle whenever I asked immediately, and we're very professional. I will be buying all my vehicles and having any service I need done there from now on.
