The process wasn’t seamless, and the vehicle wasn’t as promised. Nice folks, but it’s inconvenient. I hope they’ll get it together, it’s annoying to pay for stuff not installed.

Service work

I came into the service department for a battery replacement. I also needed windshield wipers. Both were replaced and I saved $20.00 on the battery with the online VW Leith of Raleigh website.

My wife and I were at Leith VW in Raleigh, NC to have my...

My wife and I were at Leith VW in Raleigh, NC to have my wife’s cherished 2001 New Beetle serviced. While waiting, we walked out onto the new vehicle showroom floor, essentially to kill time. That’s when we met Troy Haynes. We admited we also had another vehicle in our garage. Troy simply offered his assistance with any questions we might have on models that might replace our aging family vehicle – the dreaded mini-van. Troy, a native of Virginia, is an easy-going guy who will answer any question you have about the vehicle you are interested in or the process of obtaining it. That day, our interaction was more conversational than high-pressure sell as Troy listened to what our situation was and offered us a closer look at the VW Atlas. The Atlas has that all-important third row seating feature. He also indicated that since this was a relatively new vehicle, there were not many previously-owned options available. However, that was likely to change soon due to the expiration of leases for 2017’s and 2018’s starting to come due. We walked out with his business card and a mutual promise to stay in touch as 2018s started to appear in the dealer inventory online. We really liked the Atlas. Within the next week or two, we took Troy up on his offer of a test drive and his willingness to make the 35 minute drive to our home with one of these vehicles to satisfy my question of whether it would fit in our garage – a deal breaker for us if it didn’t. We kept an eye on Leith VW’s Certified used inventory and saw a particular vehicle that met our wish-list and took Troy up on his offer. Not only did we test the garage question, but also drove it around our town that same afternoon. Troy was more than gentlemanly as we pulled into the driveway afterwards and agreed to hang around a bit longer so our kids could come outside, take a look at the Atlas and get inside and tell us what THEY thought! As could be expected, after taking a ride in this loaded 2018 Atlas, and after Troy left with it – jumping back in our 12 year old minivan to run an errand – we could really feel the difference with what we had been used to. That weekend, we did some discussion and talked about finances to follow-up with a meeting with Troy on what the possibilites were in general and with that vehicle specifically. Troy was more than helpful answering all our questions and offered options along the way. Ultimately, we struck a deal on that Black Certified 2018 Atlas and couldn’t be happier. A great car, a familiar dealership and a gentleman to work with. Troy has that unique combination of product knowledge, industry understanding, the ability to problem solve along with a welcome sense of humor and personal touch. Plus, he loves beagle hounds ALMOST as much as we do. If you are looking at the VW Atlas or VW’s in general, I recommend seeing Troy Haynes at Leith VW in Raleigh, NC! Thank you, Volkswagen, thank you Leith VW and thank you Troy Hanyes!
