A wonderful car buying experience.

A wonderful car buying experience. No hassle no additional add-ons like a lot of dealers like to do. Ezy pezze out the door and on the road with my car. Coyd is great to work with will definitely recommend checking out Hess to purchase a vehicle. Will definitely look to Coyd and Hess Auto if I'm looking to buy more cars in the future.

This was the worst buying experience I’ve had to date.

This was the worst buying experience I’ve had to date. My husband and I went to Hess Auto to look at a Wagoneer we saw online and loved. We test drive the vehicle and decided it was the one. Before signing paperwork we were told that the wagoneer had factory warranty. Fast forward to two days after taking it home the check engine light comes on. Called Cloyd at Hess and he took the car into he “fixed”. He had told us that it was a sensor that needed fixed. So we got the car back and two days later and check engine light on again. Cloyd took the car back again to be “fixed”. He did give us a loaner which was nice, since we were without a car for a week. He had told us that it was thermostat that was bad and the part was on back order. Then had told us when they got the part in that the job was taking longer than expected. So we got the car back after a week or so and guess what, check engine light back on after a few days. So we told Cloyd and decided to take it to our jeep dealership in our town. After being looked over at our local jeep dealership they had informed us there they do not believe the thermostat had ever been changed. They also informed us that our vehicle we thought had warranty in fact did not. That since our car came from Canada that all factory warranty was voided. We contacted Cloyd about this info we received from our jeep dealership and his response was “ yea I know that, that’s why I bought you your own warranty”. This was the first time we had heard about this “warranty he bought for us”. We did get the car back and everything seemed to be good after that. But in the meantime my husband called the jeep dealership Cloyd had been “taking my car to get fixed” and come to find out my car had never been there before. 🤯 So of course my husband reaches out to Cloyd to confront him and Cloyd told us he was going to call the jeep dealership and figure out why they told us that. And haven’t heard from him since, even after my husband had tried to contact him again. Mind you, this all happening with lots of phone calls and texts not answered by Cloyd, we even had to go so far as to calling from someone else’s phone so he didn’t know it was us calling so he would answer. Lesson learned. DO NOT GO HESS AUTO in Quincy IL 0/10

Wonderful service all around.

They were great at Hess Auto. We knew what car we were looking for and they made sure we left in that car. Very friendly and professional. Will recommend to any of my friends and family looking for a new vehicle.

Great buying experience

Searching the internet for that special older sports car that met my requirements for price, condition, and mileage. A car at Hess Auto Agency caught my eye, but it was around 300 miles from my home in Kansas. I was concerned about buying a car over the internet, but the excellent pictures presented by Hess Auto along with information provided by Kirk and Eric convinced me that this car was right for me. When I mentioned that my wife and I were concerned about traveling at this time and were considering the possibility of having the car delivered, Kirk and Eric put together a delivery price proposal that was 1/3 lower than national level providers, even offering to deliver the next day. I've purchased a number of cars from a number of dealers in my 71 years of life, and it's my opinion that Hess Auto ranks right at the top. I am very happy with my purchase!

Awesome cars and car buying experience

Hess Auto Agency was very easy to work with and made the car buying experience pleasant and seamless. My wife and I had been looking for a specific car and when it showed up on their lot, Eric was able to tell me the entire story behind the car on the first call! It made us feel very confident buying from them even though we were from out of state. Eric also worked directly with our local credit union to make sure everything was in order before we made the trip. All around a great experience and if you're looking to work with a friendly, people-oriented dealership this is the place for you!

Second time around

7 years ago a friend told me to look at Hess auto before I bought anywhere else. I did and I bought a SUV from Eric. So when I was in need of another vehicle I went back to Eric and he remembered me and the car I had purchased. No pressure sales, very fair prices and most of all he listened to what I wanted and found the perfect car for me, a Nissan Rouge sport. I can't say enough good things about Hess auto. Everyone there was super nice and a great laid back atmosphere.

Honest and Reputable Dealer

Salesman Eric Hess was the epitome of customer service. Helpful and professional, Eric really assisted us to find a vehicle that we were looking for. Our first choice had just received an offer in on it so Eric suggested a few more in our price range. He never pushed us to go beyond our budget, but listened to what we were looking for and was respectful of our financial limit. We never purchased from Hess before, but some friends had and reported a great experience. Additionally, our mechanic said that Hess was one of the few honest used car lots in the Quincy area. That meant a lot to us. The other attractive thing about Hess is that they do actively maintain their web site and the vehicles on there have great photos and descriptions. That was really helpful as we researched website after website. Some places no longer had a car available or only one or two photos. Hess had multiple shots and angles (read: nothing to hide) and their inventory was very accurate. Overall, Hess was great to work with and if we are ever in the market again, we won't waste our time with other places. We'll be back and we'd recommend them.

Very straightforward hassle-free dealership

We were shopping for a newer low mileage truck and Hess Auto Sales had exactly what suited our needs. It was very refreshing to transact a purchase without encountering the games and hassles of some local "big box" dealerships. We love our new Durango!

My wife Lindsay and I had been looking for a car for months. Numerous issues with multiple unnamed dealers. All the other dealerships were pushy, rude or just plain not listening. We have known what we wanted for a while and no one had what we wanted for the price we wanted to pay! Then today we found the car we wanted online and it turned out to be at Hess Auto Agency. Eric Hess was great! He was friendly, polite, and easy to talk to. My wife and I felt quite comfortable there and did not feel any pressure. We bought our awesome new 2016 Dodge Durango today for exactly the price we wanted. Eric worked with us and walked us through all the ins and outs.
