Write a reviewPurchased a vehicle from them on June 2. The car is beautiful, but... Contacted them the next day about an oil leak. We brought it to them on June 22 and they fixed it. After driving a couple hours, the engine starts knocking. Had it checked by a local mechanic and they say the transmition is going. Car is going back to them tomorrow in hopes of them making this right. We are at day 29. I believe they are still a good company and would love to change this rating. All depends upon what they do....

This was a terrible experience from start to finish. Bought a mini van last year that began smoking the day I bought it. Asked to be let out of the contract and denied. They "fixed" it. Tried to use the warranty I purchased later in the year and was told there was a pre-existing condition. Asked the company to refund my $$ for the warranty and they never, ever replied. Do not patronize this business.

I've purchased several used cars in my life from dealerships, and I've never had to worry about checking small things because the dealership checks everything over or tells me something needs work - until now. I purchased a 2014 Hyundai Elantra in December 2023 from Dakota Motors. Because it was winter and my Subaru was still running, I didn't drive the Elantra until 2 weeks ago. I knew one of the tires on the Elantra needed to be replaced, and the salesman gave me a reduction in price for a new tire. Turns out, I had to replace all 4 tires because they were deemed "unsafe" by the tire company (dry rot, gash in tire, one of the tires was made in 2013, cords were showing on the inside edge of a tire). The alignment was off, too, so I had to pay for that when I replaced the tires. I also had to replace both headlights, and my windshield washer sprayers don't work. The steering wheel buttons for cruise and radio volume don't work half the time, and there's also a mildew smell to the car that's noticable now that it's warming up outside. If you're okay with having to check every little thing when you buy a car, feel free. But I will never go back to this dealership

Stay away from Dakota Motors at all costs. Unless you would like to incur even more costs than the price of the car you purchased.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE dealership. Do NOT do business with them, they will sell you a lemon and then deny it! I purchased a 2013 Prius from them less than a year ago. It initially looked like a great car, only issue at first glace was that the hood wouldn't open. I requested they fix that before I would buy the car. I came back a few days later and the hood opened fine, I didn't see any other major issues so I bought the car. Less than a month later as I was driving, the hood suddenly flew up and shattered the windshield right in the middle of the highway! Luckily, I managed to blindly drive to the side of the road without anyone hitting me. Both my insurance company and I have followed up with them several times because it was obviously neglect/improper repairs on their part that caused this, but they are denying any responsibility and even more than that, GASLIGHTING ME over it! Not to mention a host of other problems were found by the shop who did the repairs. Such unprofessional and shady business practice to sell people unsafe vehicles and then try to blame the victim.

Worst car buying experience ever. Bob and Ryan sold me a lemon car and have both been nothing less of headaches. Save your time and money

Haven't purchased a vehicle from these guys yet but after reading ALL the reviews I just have to say that my upfront experience has been curious and very professional. Ive spoken with the guys three times now about two different vehicles and each time, the salesperson has been very patient and answered all of my questions and even called back with a price range for my trade in. Sorry that others have had bad experiences or non returned phone calls but these guys have been great to me so far!!! Going down Friday to test drive a 17 suburban - To be continued...

I have bought vehicles here before and I used to recommend Dakota Motor to friends and coworkers, but this recent experience am now hesitant and skeptical to recommend anyone there. I was at the dealership on 10/13/2018 getting a 2016 Honda Pilot, Dave was so RUDE and he doesn't have any good public relation and don’t know how to talk with customers. On this day, Ryan was not in but Bart took care of my business with no issues what so ever. Bart and Ryan are great, they know how to talk and deal with customers, but Dave is a no-no. If you call & Dave pick up the call, please do yourself a favor and just hang up or ask for either Ryan or Bart. Their vehicles are somewhat cheaper on average compared to others in town. Be sure to take the vehicle for complete inspections to an independent Auto Repair shop before buying. It worth paying that extra $15 to $ 100 for inspections before being a victim of bad purchase. My recent purchase was in an accident and was not disclosed to me. I took it in for a minor repair to the Honda dealership that is when I discover that the back door was not totally aligned. I called, and Dave was again rude on the phone., talking over me and not listening to my concerns and finding of the vehicle. Dave you an elderly man but you don't have manners at all. Have respect for your customers. Dave my advice for you is that, try to improve on your PR or just stay away from helping customers. I think you just okay to buy the vehicles and nothing else.

Found a vehicle on Craigslist just last night. The price was great and we decided to go look at it today. We found their new location to be very nice as were Bart and Ryan. We went for a quick test drive and came back to ask about a trade in. They surveyed our vehicle and offered us a very fair price. We made a deal in no time at all. Bart drafted or paperwork and we were back on the road heading home in less than an hour. A very pleasant experience! Thanks Bart!
