I have worked with Alex Yakovlev, Client Advisor, twice and have had a fantastic experience both times. He is extremely knowledgeable, easy to work with, and genuinely cares about your experience. I highly recommend seeking out Alex if you are interested in leasing or buying from BMX Fairfax!

Zero support for factory defects on a brand-new 2026 X5 M60i Brought my brand-new 2026 BMW X5 M60i into Fairfax BMW because a rear seat climate control button failed internally and stopped clicking/adjusting temperature. Additionally, a small plastic retention tab on the front bumper tow-eye cover broke off, causing the clip to loosen. There is zero impact damage on the bumper cover, and no spills on the interior button, these are textbook material and workmanship defects on a vehicle with minimal miles. Despite this, the service department and management absolutely refused to cover the bumper clip under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, dismissing it out of hand. For a premium flagship vehicle, the lack of basic product backing and the "default no" attitude from management is completely unacceptable. If you expect a premium brand to honor its bumper-to-bumper warranty on defects, avoid Fairfax BMW service.

Avoid this dealership if you are purchasing an EV and expect them to follow federal tax law. I purchased a 2017 Tesla Model X here in July 2025. Despite my repeated attempts over several months to ensure they filed the mandatory "Time of Sale" report (Form 15400) required by IRS Revenue Procedure 2022-42, they completely failed their administrative duty. (back in July when I bought I asked and they said it was 'incoming') I reached out to them as early as November 2025 and again in December 2025 to verify the reporting, only to be met with stalling tactics and empty promises that the paperwork was "on its way". It wasn't until April 2026—after the IRS officially disallowed my $4,000 credit—that the General Manager finally admitted in writing that they never successfully submitted the report. Their negligence has caused my family immense unnecessary stress and financial strain, forcing me to go through a formal IRS appeals process just to get the refund I am legally owed. This level of incompetence regarding federal regulations is unacceptable for a major dealership. Do not trust their word; verify everything yourself or go elsewhere.

If you want to be baited and switched this is the perfect place for you. They offered a car for sale on AutoTrader which was not really for sale. Very dishonest! Hard pass!!!

These guys did a great job, Karim responded to me very quickly when I inquired about the car, he had the car ready for me at the front of the showroom when I arrived. We had a great test drive. I made an aggressive offer, and the ales team approved it for me. My daughter loves the car! Great job, thank you!

Here’s the good: The sales representative I worked with was friendly and kept the process moving smoothly. The not-so-good: During and after the purchase, Fairfax felt a bit unorganized. I’ve never had so much back-and-forth with a dealer after a sale. To be fair, my bank wasn’t the easiest to work with either, which didn’t help. The car was very clean and initially smelled strongly of detailing products—as you’d expect. But after about a week, once those scents faded, the car began to smell like cigarette smoke. When I called, I was told my file was closed and there was nothing they could do, and that I should take the car somewhere to have all the filters replaced. What I ultimately took away from the experience is that if you have an issue after purchase, you shouldn’t expect much support. I’ve worked with other BMW dealers who would bend over backwards to make things right, so this was disappointing.

Andrew B, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’ve looked into your comments and unfortunately, I can’t find an “Andrew B” or any record in our files regarding a concern about smoke odor. We also don’t have any notes or prior instances of a pre-owned vehicle being brought to our attention for a similar issue that we did not address and resolve. “File closed” is not a phrase or approach our team would ever use, it doesn’t reflect how we take care of our guests or stand behind our vehicles. If your vehicle has already been treated with ozone, a second treatment is typically not recommended, however, replacing the cabin filters is another step that can further help eliminate odor. Please reach out to me directly so we can review your situation and assist further, we’re committed to ensuring your BMW experience meets the premium standards you should expect. The lack of professionalism at this dealership is staggering. I had a firm appointment for a specific Certified Pre-Owned BMW. I had discussed the vehicle with the salesperson Dennis in multiple phone conversations and text messages. I had cleared my entire Saturday afternoon for a test drive and had a specific appointment for the test drive and subsequent purchase. I made unequivocally clear that if the vehicle corresponded to the description and photos, I would close on it immediately. Dennis had full knowledge of me being a serious buyer. As I am leaving the house for the dealership, he matter of factly texts "It sold". He had previously indicated that he would keep an eye on the vehicle and make sure it was available but did not mention that a 1K deposit would have "held it". That would have been the easiest way to resolve this, but it is not the customer's job to ask. It is LITERALLY his job to make that suggestion. Moreover, when I called him subsequent to the the text, not only did he NOT apologize, he had an arrogant, patronizing tone in his response. This after I had been respectful of the salesperson's time and very courteous in tone. A wasted Saturday afternoon, a completely waste of vaulable time and effort in terms of the research and communication and a salesperson who literally epitomizes the opposite of professionalism. I had a SPECIFIC appointment for a SPECIFIC vehicle, and the indivuals repsonsible couldn't even deliver on that #AutoSalesClass101. Back at square one due to the comprehensive incompetence on display here. Thankfully, there are plenty of other BMW dealerships to choose from.

Peter DeThier, Thank you for sharing this feedback. I sincerely apologize for the frustration you experienced, especially after setting aside your Saturday with the intention of purchasing the specific Certified Pre-Owned BMW you discussed with our salesperson. After reviewing the communication, it’s clear that the CPO vehicle was your primary focus. When you mentioned you might consider a new model if the CPO didn’t meet your expectations, our team misinterpreted that as multiple options and your advisor unfortunately did not offer the opportunity to place a refundable deposit. Given how quickly pre-owned inventory moves, that option should have absolutely been presented proactively. I’m glad our sales manager was able to meet with you during your visit and that you returned to review an alternative CPO option. I fully understand it wasn’t your first choice and that you needed more time to consider it after your second visit. Your time and trust mean a great deal to us and I regret that this situation unfolded the way it did. We appreciate the opportunity to show you additional options and would be happy to assist further should you wish to explore alternate vehicles. Maryam Malikyar General Manager

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED – Unsafe Service, Zero Accountability, and Disrespectful Treatment I recently brought my BMW to BMW of Fairfax for an AC repair, and the experience has been one of the worst I’ve had with any dealership. My service advisor was Hamid Khalid. I originally came in because my AC condenser was leaking. Instead of focusing on the actual issue, I was told I “needed” several other repairs — all of them outrageously priced at 2–3 times what my independent BMW specialist (who I’ve used for 20 years) charges. I declined the upsells because I know my vehicle and my mechanic. After six days, I received a second “Primary Concerns Analysis.” Suddenly, they included another AC leak repair costing $5,600, but failed to mention that fixing the condenser alone wouldn’t work unless that additional leak was fixed too. My trusted BMW mechanic quoted that same job for $1,200. The lack of transparency is unacceptable. On top of that, they told me I was “due” for an engine oil service — even though my car clearly did not need it for another 2,000 miles. The oil service would have been free for me, but I asked them not to touch it, because my oil drain plug is custom. After 13 days, I finally picked up my car. I didn’t even make it three blocks before smelling strong burning oil. The closer I got back to the dealership, the worse it became. I returned immediately and spoke with assistant manager Elena Tanase, who told me it was my fault because I denied the oil service — and claimed I “brought the car with no oil,” which is completely untrue. I explained that I didn’t feel safe driving a car with a burning smell and possibly no oil. I asked to get the loaner back so they could recheck it. She rudely refused, saying she “couldn’t do that.” She also told me, shockingly, that “NOTHING happens to cars when you drive with empty engine oil.” Anyone who knows anything about cars knows this is absolutely false and extremely dangerous. I drove away terrified, the burning smell getting worse, and on top of that — the AC (the whole reason I brought my car in and paid over $2,000) was still not fixed. I stopped at AutoZone, and thankfully a mechanic there helped me add oil to my car so I could at least get home safely. I then contacted manager Charles Barber. On the phone, he told me the complete opposite of what his assistant manager said. He admitted that driving without oil would severely damage my engine, and that it was “not possible” Elena would have let me drive off like that. We agreed to meet in person. That meeting was even worse. He repeatedly implied that I was lying — about the oil, about the AutoZone mechanic helping me, and even about the burning smell. He told me that I didn’t put oil in my car because I “didn’t have the tools to reset the vehicle status screen.” He spoke to me as if I were a child who knows nothing about cars — this is my 4th BMW. He also insisted we meet in person because he “couldn’t understand me” over the phone. I do have an accent, but I speak perfectly clear English. I couldn’t help but wonder if this was discrimination as well. At the end of everything, nothing was resolved. They took zero responsibility for why my car suddenly had no oil when it wasn’t due for service for another 2,000 miles. No explanation, no apology, no accountability. BMW is supposed to stand for quality — but customer service means serving the customer, not upselling them, gaslighting them, or putting them in unsafe situations. This dealership failed on every level: ❌ Dishonest diagnostics ❌ Outrageous pricing ❌ Unsafe handling of my vehicle ❌ Blaming the customer for their mistakes ❌ Rude and dismissive treatment ❌ Complete lack of accountability I will never return to BMW of Fairfax for service, and I strongly warn others to be extremely careful.

Greta Fernandez, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. After a detailed review of your service history, communication records and technician documentation, we can confirm that your vehicle was serviced in accordance with BMW factory guidelines, and all approved work was completed as authorized by you. Regarding your A/C system, the initial leak was correctly diagnosed as the condenser. Your estimate clearly noted that the condenser would need to be replaced first, the system recharged with refrigerant, and then rechecked for any additional leaks, meaning further repairs could be required once the system was fully pressurized. The condenser replacement was completed as approved. After that repair, a secondary leak at the evaporator was discovered, an issue that cannot be identified until the first leak is resolved. This was thoroughly explained to you, and a separate estimate was provided, which was declined. Concerning your claim about engine oil, your vehicle did not arrive with a low oil condition, nor was it returned with one. The message displayed on your vehicle was a service due reminder, not a low oil warning. You declined the oil service after informing us that your vehicle had a custom drain plug done by your mechanic, and we agreed not to proceed to avoid potential damage. Our records also reflect that multiple staff members, including management, reviewed these findings with you and presented all documentation. We understand that this situation was frustrating, but our team acted transparently and within proper service standards at every step. We wish you the best with your vehicle and encourage you to continue service with the mechanic you trust, as was discussed. Maryam Malikyar General Manager
