Battery Warranty Claim
I love my 2011 Tundra but I had a very bad experience at AutoNation Toyota South Austin and, as a result, do not EVER plan to take my vehicle there again. I purchased a new battery from AutoNation for my Tundra in August 2018 that came with a 40 month warranty. Unbeknownst to me, it was an after-market battery, not a Toyota OEM battery. Seventeen months after purchasing this battery, it failed a test preformed by Round Rock Toyota. Because it was not an OEM battery, Round Rock could not honor the warranty and advised me to take it back to AutoNation and let them to do it. Two days later, I took my truck to AutoNation where they tested the battery and told me it tested good on their equipment, so they refused to honor the warranty. Hmmm. I was getting a little perturbed at this point. Someone is not telling me the truth or someone doesn't know how to run a battery tester. Which is it?? To find out, I took my Tundra to a third Austin Toyota dealer, Charles Maund Toyota, and had them check the battery. It tested low at Charles Maund and they gave me the same advice that Round Rock Toyota had given me: THE BATTERY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. Armed with this additional information, I went back to AutoNation and spoke with the service advisor there, again. At first, he said he would "have to get the higher up's involved" before he could replace the battery under warranty, but when I showed him the test results from Charles Maund (which mirrored the test results from Round Rock), he thought better of it, I guess, and said "I think we can go ahead and do this for you." Well, thanks a lot, buddy, for honoring your warranty on a lousy $140 battery and making me run all over town to get you to do it! Was it worth it? Probably not, but at least now I know for sure which Toyota dealers in Austin I can trust and which one I need to avoid.

Great service
Always clean, the best service at autonation Toyota . I like the early morning coffee. The atmosphere is like a family event, I really don’t mind waiting, because I feel very comfortable in the waiting room.
