I had an appalling experience at Chapman Hyundai Phoenix today when returning my lease vehicle. After arriving to complete a standard lease return, I was kept waiting for over an hour. When I was finally addressed by Manager George Salman, the situation went from frustrating to completely unacceptable. Upon learning that I was returning the lease without purchasing or leasing my next vehicle directly from their location, George Salman behaved in an extremely rude, hostile, and dismissive manner. He ultimately told me to get out of the dealership simply because I chose to buy my new car elsewhere. The lack of basic courtesy, total disregard for a returning customer's time, and the unprofessional, aggressive behavior displayed by George Salman was appalling. No customer returning a vehicle should be subjected to hostililty or thrown out for making an independent purchasing decision. I strongly advise others to exercise caution when dealing with this location and its management. I will not be returning to Chapman Hyundai Phoenix for any future sales or service needs.

Mrs. Raj, We sincerely apologize for your experience and understand your frustration. As we explained during your visit, the manufacturer’s system required to process lease returns was temporarily down and unavailable. Unfortunately, without access to that system, we were unable to complete your lease return or provide you with the required receipt. Best Regards, George Salman General Manager Chapman Hyundai & Mazda
Mr. Salman, your response is entirely false and a cowardly attempt to rewrite what actually happened. At no point during my visit was I told that the manufacturer’s lease return system was "temporarily down and unavailable." That is a complete fabrication invented after the fact to cover up your poor behavior. The actual reason you and your staff made me wait for an hour was because I explicitly stated that I purchased my new vehicle from a different dealership. If the system was supposedly down, why did your staff never mention it once during the entire hour I sat waiting? Why wasn't that the first thing communicated instead of hostile, dismissive treatment? Trying to hide behind a fictional technical glitch now does not erase the unprofessional and disrespectful way you treated me. Stand by your actions instead of hiding behind a fabricated excuse. Future customers deserve to know how this dealership really operates.
Finance manager and finance director VIOLATED UDAAP (Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices), which includes an additional element of "abusive" practices. They said VTR (car theft) is mandatory and obligated on all cars and would not remove from contract. We believed them and signed. After reviewing singed paper for the VTR we noticed they added VRG an additional theft protection! Both VTR & VRGs contract paper stated in bold lettering: "its NOT a requirement for the purchase or financing of a covered vehicle". At minimum the finance director agreed to the violation of UDAAP by confirming that his finance manager added extra charges to original agreement and refunded part of it. We feel scammed and defrauded! Not okay!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We take any allegations of unfair or deceptive practices extremely seriously, and we sincerely apologize for any confusion or frustration caused regarding the optional products included in your contract. While Vehicle Theft Registration (VTR) and Vehicle Recovery Guarantee (VRG) are available as optional protections, it is never our intent to misrepresent their status or make any customer feel pressured to purchase them. We understand how concerning it can be to later read disclosures stating these products are not required. If you would be willing to provide your actual name or account details so we can locate your transaction, we are prepared to refund the fees in question to resolve this matter. It is our understanding that a portion of the charge was refunded after you brought this to our attention, and we regret that this issue impacted your trust in our dealership. We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this matter directly, answer any additional questions, and do everything possible to address your concerns. Sincerely, George Salman General Manager Chapman Hyundai & Mazda Bell Rd. Value Center [email protected] Main (602)993-3322

I spoke with roughly ten dealerships in CA, AZ, and NV when shopping for a 2025 Hyundai Tucson Plug-in hybrid; I chose to go with Chapman for a few reasons, one of which was their excellent service. I had submitted an online inquiry and many places would call during the day, but I received my first call from Souzane at around 8:45 pm. That’s dedication! I told her exactly what I wanted, and she called me back the next morning. Within 48 hours and without having to step foot in the store, they negotiated a reasonable deal with me - one that had another California dealership telling me to hop on a plane and go to AZ since that deal was “impossible” to get. Souzane maintained excellent communication throughout the process, looping in the manager Brian as needed, who was also very patient answering my questions. They even offered additional savings as we continued talks. I felt harassed by other dealerships, many of whom had terrible follow-up, insisted that I come to their store instead of making a deal by phone, and tried to gaslight me regarding their prices when I had very clear numbers on value, taxes, and fees. Chapman was a total breeze - no xx, just getting you the product you want at a reasonable rate. No wasting your valuable time. Souzane was amazing on the day of sale, and I had papers signed and was out of the lot in one hour. She knew the vehicle (other salespeople I met were far less competent), set me up with the digital program, and explained all the features in great detail. Her and Brian got my vehicle fully charged up for the ride home, and were very accommodating throughout. I made this purchase from out of state and could not recommend this dealership more, especially Souzane!

I can't believe that this dealership would not honor the price they had for a 2013 GMC .I offered to pay in cash the price they wanted. The General manager Mike said the price they posted was wrong. I said I'm sorry but thats your mistake not mine. All of us public potential customers don't want to be bullied and lied to.Now we know why car salesman have dishonest stereotypes. Dealerships like these is why. Do yourself a favor and when you see this Dealership go by it as fast as you can. I'm 63 yrs old and never have I seen shisters like this. Wow.

Mr.Arnie, I sincerely apologize for this situation. Due to unforeseen mechanical issues, we have decided to send the vehicle to auction. As I mentioned in our phone call, I am more than happy to accommodate you with another vehicle to make up for the issue with the Acadia you originally selected. Please let me know how I can assist you. Best regards, George Salman General Manager Chapman Hyundai & Mazda Bell Rd. Value Center [email protected] Main (602)993-3322
THE BEST car buying experience ever! My young daughter was in a terrible accident. Her car was totaled, so she needed a replacement. I contacted Chapman Hyundai on Bell Rd in Phoenix, AZ regarding a car for sale posted online. A salesman responded immediately: BRANDON ABBASI. He was awesome! He was friendly, upbeat, knowledgeable and professional. After reviewing several different cars available, he narrowed it down to just the right one. He put everything together smoothly. Throughout the transaction, he responded immediately to my calls and texts. No glitches, no hiccups, no problems along the way. Brandon helped transform a very traumatic car accident experience into something absolutely wonderful. I nominate him for “Salesman of the Year”. :)

9/13 Chapman DID intentionally send me out in an unsafe car!! For 4 months I drove 5k miles with a bad knock sensor that Chapman said was ok!! It didn't pass ANY test Chapman did because Chapman didn't remove the faulty knock sensor they installed to have it sent out to be checked! You didn't do the work! You reset the adaptive and cleared the code! 9/10 So, how many of your employees write 5 star reviews for you??? Is it just the managers that write the reviews or everyone at Chapman? It's a good thing you had great customer service or I would think you might be really upset considering YOU WORK THERE. 9/2 The anxiety continues!! 5,000 miles later, and the car is in limp mode again, I'm not surprised. My car hasn't been the same since the second time I had it at Chapman. What I am surprised about is that it's a faulty knock sensor. So when it went into limp mode again after I drove for 10 miles after it was "replaced", what was actually done besides resetting the adaptive? Did you just undo one of the battery terminals so the check engine light would go off? Have I been driving around for the last 4 months with a faulty knock sensor that Chapman said was ok? Is that why I hear boiling metal sounds coming from my engine? Is that why the rpms drop unexpectedly? Why is it that even Hyundai can't find where you replaced the knock sensor? Why isn't this information in Carfax? Why did I have to produce paperwork saying work was done, when Chapman supposedly keeps track of everything? And why do I have an invoice saying work was done when it was declined? Please see photo. Maybe someone else can explain it, since Chapman can't. I've taken my car somewhere else to be fixed correctly under warranty and test driven by someone who ISN'T the shuttle driver. No additional work that was recommended by Chapman was needed. Question though for you boys. Did you send the knock sensor to Hyundai to be inspected the first time or no? What about the second time after I drove 5 miles? Since I was told within hours that it was a good sensor I'm going to say no because it actually has to be sent out for inspection on the part, you just didn't want to do the warranty work. No need to send your copy and paste canned response again Mike, because you have no true answers and I don't need your excuses. To be continued......... May Review: Since I am limited to characters, I will say this. I have a Theta 2 engine that is failing. I was told it was an oil filter, but they replaced the knock sensor. Now they want me to spend $1,500 on work that my trustworthy auto shop and ex Hyundai technician has already done. Don't go here to have any warranty work or they will try and tell you it's everything but. Hyundai should be embarrassed to have Chapman as a dealer and Chapman should be ashamed of themselves for not honoring the lifetime warranty of the Theta 2 engine due to faulty manufacturing. If it wasn't a problem, there wouldn't be a campaign for it. And don't blame it on the oil filter when we all know the aftermarket manufacturers changed their design so Hyundai couldn't blame it on that. My service advisor only kept telling me I needed to have more work done. I am a 51 year old disabled woman and I don't have the stamina to be dealing with Chapman and their unwillingness to do what's right and honor the Hyundai warranty instead of trying to get cash customers. I do believe Chapman has left me in an unsafe situation with a potentially dangerous car. I'm driving with a bad knock sensor, that they cleared the code for the check engine light so it would go away. Since Joe, my service advisor did not contact Hyundai as he said he would, and since I haven't received a response from my email to Mr. Salman, I will be raising this up and contacting Hyundai myself.

Be very careful with the contract ! Use simple math ! Calculate your payment , amount of months times payment ! That is the total you will pay not the number they present ! Not even the number plus interest ! It’s almost the triple amount rolled in ! Their contracts are complete scam
