Straight talk and got what we paid for. Mickey was really good to work with and he helped us separate the "wheat from the chaff". From the moment we first spoke on the phone, we had a great rapport and his patience with our questions was awesome.

Mickey is a great resource for our customers, and we're glad the process felt straightforward from start to finish. We appreciate you choosing Poway Honda.
⚠️ DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. The finance manager, Tyree Jones, lied about a maintenance contract's coverage, gave me no paperwork on it, lied about when I could cancel it, and denied his own lies when I called him out in front of management. Poway only fixed it after I called the contract provider (Fidelity) and their corporate owner (Sonic) myself. They also gave me only one plate, which is illegal in California, and I got stopped by police over it. After Poway corrected that, my new plates sat unclaimed at the dealership for 7 weeks while my texts went unanswered. My salesman, Mateo, never responded, despite multiple attempts, and still hasn't. Normally I'd say do your homework on a dealership. Instead: AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP. IF YOU END UP HERE, DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING TYREE SAYS. ASK FOR SOMEONE ELSE. BUT DON'T COME HERE. Details: During financing, Tyree sold me a Fidelity maintenance contract. I asked specific questions about coverage: could I get an oil change every week, were alignments included (every six months), tire rotations, and whether I could use each service as often as I wanted. Tyree said yes to everything, including "unlimited" coverage and alignments. All false. My assumption, though I can't prove it, is that Poway benefits from a commission on these service contracts. I also told Tyree I planned to pay the car off within three months. He said I should take a larger loan and put less down now, framing it as good for my credit, and that I could put more down Monday if I changed my mind. I called several credit agencies afterward; none could give legal advice, but all said loan size alone doesn't affect credit score beyond normal history-building. Sunday, I noticed I'd gotten no paperwork on the service contract. I texted my salesman Mateo directly; he said he'd send it that day. He never did. Later that same day I texted Mateo about cancelling Fidelity. He relayed from Tyree that I couldn't cancel until after my first payment. Also false. Monday morning I called Fidelity directly. They confirmed the plan wasn't unlimited, didn't cover alignments, and could be cancelled as soon as they could see it on their end, directly contradicting Tyree. The rep was confident enough to offer staying on speakerphone at the dealership to confirm it himself. I also reported the misrepresentation and a wire-transfer concern to Sonic corporate before heading back. Sonic contacted a regional rep, who handed me to management and Tyree as soon as I arrived back at Poway. There, I learned the loan had already funded, and was told the Monday down-payment option was no longer available. With management and Sonic's rep present, I went through each lie one at a time, citing my exact question and Tyree's exact answer (unlimited oil changes, alignments, rotations, cancellation, down payment). He denied every one as "miscommunication," 6-8 separate times. Only once he stepped away did management agree to strip the Fidelity product; I put more down via wire transfer and signed a new loan. Then came the plates: Poway gave me only one, which is illegal in California. Police stopped and warned me over the holiday weekend. Poway acknowledged the error and issued temp tags plus new plates. Seven weeks later, the last week in August, still nothing. I texted Mateo twice with no response, then called three times before reaching anyone; even then, no one offered to send them. When I picked them up the envelope they came in was postmarked July 24th. Poway sat on my plates over a month while ignoring me. Mateo never responded, and still hasn't. Bottom line: this dealership lies to you and goes silent on basic obligations unless you chase them down. Get everything in writing, verify independently with providers, and don't expect anyone to proactively update you. Most buyers won't push as hard as I did, so don't assume you'll get the same result. IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS PLEASE CALL SONIC AUTOMOTIVE THEIR PARENT COMPANY.

Thank you, Bryan! We're glad Vince made the leasing process smooth and straightforward for you.
Made the deal over the phone and text. Mickey was friendly, professional, quick, and to the point. He didn’t waster my time. Enjoyed working with him.

Mickey is exactly the kind of team member we're proud to have, and we're glad the process was smooth and respectful of your time. We hope to work with you again down the road.
I had a very disappointing experience with Poway Honda. I took a day off work to purchase a 2025 Honda Pilot TrailSport after it was advertised online as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. After test driving it and negotiating a deal, I was informed that it was actually not Certified Pre-Owned, despite the online listing. That was one of the main reasons I came to the dealership. I was ready to buy that day with financing already arranged, but I was told they couldn’t complete the deal because the service manager wasn’t available to address the CPO issue. I left expecting a follow-up. Over the next couple of days, I repeatedly tried to get an update but received very little communication. The vehicle disappeared from the website, and I couldn’t get a clear answer about whether it had been sold. Only after several calls and messages did I receive a voicemail explaining that another dealership in their group had taken or sold the vehicle. I understand that cars sell and inventory changes. My frustration is that I was a serious buyer who was ready to purchase, but due to the dealership’s own advertising error and internal process, I lost the opportunity to buy the vehicle. Better communication and follow-through would have made a big difference. Unfortunately, this experience left me with little confidence in the dealership’s sales process.

Twenty-five years of trust means a great deal to us, and we're grateful to have customers like you as part of the Poway Honda family. We'll make sure Raj and the rest of the team know how much you appreciate them.
Last week, I took my car to Poway Honda to be serviced. As always, Marco, my Service Advisor and technical staff at Poway Honda service department were excellent in servicing my Honda Accord and I was completely happy and satisfied with their work. It was really great to see Marco again. I had made an appointment and when I got there, Marco greeted me within a few minutes. He is always extremely nice, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, courteous and trust worthy. It is always a pleasure to see and chat with him. Marco always goes the extra mile to make my visit to Poway Honda service department a pleasant one. Marco, is truly OUTSTANDING! I waited over there and it took about an hour for the service to be completed including a complementary multi-point inspection and a car wash. The waiting area is clean and comfortable, and drinking water and gourmet coffee are available. They also provide some good snacks. There is a popcorn machine so you can help yourself with warm popcorn as well while waiting. It was also great to see and say hi to Al (my other great Service Advisor) and chat with him a little about his recent adventures. I missed Gary in the Sales Department since he was out that day. Marco texted me when the service was completed, reviewed the bill with me and also checked me out, very efficiently. I Highly recommend Poway Honda service department and dealership to others. Many thanks to Marco, Al and all Poway Honda service department staff. You all take care and have a wonderful week!

DO NOT BUY HERE! SOLD ME A DEFECTIVE VEHICLE. Poway Honda is supposed to be a reputable business. I purchased a 2023 Chevrolet Suburban Premier Duramax with 83,927 miles on Tuesday 5/19/26, with $20,000 down cash. Seven days later shortly after driving a little over 100 miles the check engine light populated at 94,142 miles. I have contacted Tyree Jones the Finance Manager who finalized the sale, with zero responses. I reached out to Elizabeth Rodriguez, who sold me the vehicle, and she's just pushing it off on her managers. The following morning I took the vehicle down to my local Chevrolet Service Center to be diagnosed. Per GM the Suburban purchased a week ago needs the following replaced: Second Catalytic converter without filter, gasket, clamp, nuts, seal. Greg a manager I got on the phone on Thursday 5/28/26 was extremely rude didn't offer an apology on the current issue with the vehicle. He stated " You're a consumer in California, you are a liable as soon as you drive off the lot". I asked for the diagnostics report he stated they ran when Poway Honda purchased the vehicle and he said," We'll try and get that over to you, you should have received it at the time of purchase" which I did not and I am still waiting for them to send me that report. Reputable auto dealers do right by their consumers, Poway Honda does not.
