The Best Experience I've Had Buying a Car

It had been YEARS since I had a dependable vehicle, so I decided that I would finally go out and purchase one. After searching Cars.com and finding the vehicle that I wanted, I called this particular dealership and was immediately put in touch with a sales associate named Marcus Rountree, who was very polite and friendly. We set up an appointment for me to come to the dealership, meet him and look at the vehicle that I was interested in. Immediately upon stepping into the dealership I was met by another sales associate who greeted me, asked if I'd been helped, and when I told him I was looking for Marcus, went to notify him of my arrival. Marcus came immediately to assist me, and from that point on it was "smooth sailing" so to speak. This young man knows what he's doing. I've purchased 5 cars total in my time as a licensed driver, a time that spans over 30 years, and I must say that my experience buying a car at this dealership, with Marcus assisting me throughout the process, was by far the BEST one I've had. In essence, if you decide to purchase a vehicle and want an enjoyable, satisfactory experience, I STRONGLY suggest you call up Darcars Ford Kia of Lanham and ask for Marcus Rountree. You won't be disappointed and will leave with a nice dependable car, an affordable deal, and smile on your face.

Always Excellent Sales and Service

Mr. Abu Jetta listened carefully to our needs and presented us with a vehicle that fit every requirement. We have purchased several vehicles in the past from DarCars and we always recommend Mr. Jetta to anyone who is looking for a new or used vehicle. Before going any place else, go first to Abu Jetta at DarCars Ford in Lanham. If you give him a call before-hand, he will probably have the exact vehicle you want ready for you when you arrive and he will work with the finance office to get you behind the wheel the same day. . Some things you can still depend on. Paulette and Donald Smith

Uninterested in selling cars

At the recent Auto Show, I was impressed with the Ford brand, so I researched further and found a vehicle that I was interested in evaluating. From the Ford website, I found the exact vehicle I was looking for, and saw that it was available at Darcars Ford in Lanham. I went to their website and couldn't find the vehicle listed, because their search filters do not take in account newer technologies. I eventually found the vehicle that the Ford website listed and clicked the button to schedule a test drive. I got an auto response back saying that my appointment was all set. I show up for the appointment, and the sales guy Malomo can't find me in the system. OK, that's fine. I then tell him the exact vehicle I'm looking for. I had re-confirmed that morning that their website said it was still in stock. Not so, claims Malomo. He claims it's still in transit. I made the appointment a week before hand, and now he's telling me it hasn't arrived yet? Either he's lying, or he has zero intention of selling a vehicle. I then accuse him of wasting my time and leave. I got back this morning right at opening time. I sit in the showroom for 10 minutes and no one approaches me. So, I go back to find someone. I asked the only guy I see if there's anyone available to give me a test drive. The abrasive guy, Nikilio, appears uninterested in getting my business. He can't be bothered to greet me, find me a sales consultant, or even get me the General Manager's name, phone number, of when he can be expected to be in the office.

Please Read

I recently leased a Ford from Darcars Ford Lanham and have spent every day of the past four months regretting it. I was lured into going with a Ford because they offer rebates for being a recent college graduate and another for being a service member, both of which I qualified for. Because of the rebates, the price of the vehicle became more attractive and practical. When I leased the vehicle, I had to write a holding check until I could provide proof that I met the requirements for both rebates. I provided the proof that Ford requires, however, Darcars refused to recognize the rebates and cashed my holding checks. It has literally been months that I have now spent trying to get that money back. Hess, the General Manager, has made this entire process one of the most difficult and upsetting experiences that I have ever been a part of. He has been trying to take advantage of my age, financial status and lack of experience in car buying. He has been rude, disrespectful and dishonest. He has had me on hold for hours, hung up on me, and has straight up ignored my calls. Andrew, the General Sales Manager, never returns my calls and has brushed me off as if my concerns are not a big deal. I have never written a review online before, but I do hope that you read this and take my advice seriously. I have regretted doing business with Darcars Ford Lanham since the day I signed that contract.

Horrible Manager

There's a reason I only rated the Customer Service part of this. I didn't even have to go in to DARCARS to be turned off, which I should've known better because 6 years ago, a different DARCARS sold me a lemon. The engine blew out 6 months after I purchased it and I went to a reputable dealership who installed a rebuilt engine for $3500. But surely not every MD DARCARS is the same, right? Wrong. In this case, I had to speak to 2 people before the manager, Chalky, gave me a call about transferring a used car on their lot to a closer location. God forbid they make it easier on the customer. Chalky, asked why I couldn't just drive an hour and ten minutes to buy it. I told him I'd have to test drive it first and don't know if I'll be completely satisfied even after that. So at the very least I'd be driving two hours and twenty minutes (r/t) to TEST drive a car that I may not even be satisfied with. He has the audacity to say in a very defensive tone, "Why don't you think you'll be satisfied with a 2011 Ford Fusion with 23 thousand miles on it?" WHAT?! He acted like it was his own personal car I was attacking. Not like, "I don't know if I'll be satisfied with it" merits being declared an attack. But apparently to him it does. When one of the accountants followed up with me, he explained why they can't transfer used cars. When I told him the reason I'm not doing business with them is because of how his manager treated me, there were 10 seconds of silence. I actually had to say "hello" to see if he was still on the line. He then proceeded to apologize on behalf of his inexplicably offended and rude manager (my words, not his). He sounded so embarrassed. Is this manager an example of how a dealership seeking business should treat their potential customers? If you do decide to go with DARCARS, proceed with caution.

Awesome Experience!

I recently purchased a 2013 Kia Sorento from the DARCARS Ford Kia Dealership in Lanham, MD. There are Kia dealerships that are closer to my home, but based on various recommendations from friends, I decided to check out DARCARS in Lanham. I certainly am glad that I did. This was a great car buying experience! The team at DARCARS is excellent...very knowledgeable and helpful, friendly and professional....probably one of the best sales teams I have come in contact with. Mike in sales is fantastic. He took his time to explain all of the features in my new Sorento and truly made this an enjoyable experience, which is not always the case at other dealerships. My Kia is great...absolutely love the car and so happy I made the decision to buy a Kia. Very well made car, great features and the warranty is definitely an added bonus.

Worst Customer Service EVER!

My husband & I were on the lot for 20 min & no one came out to greet us.We had to go inside to find a salesman but we could see 4 salesmen looking at us through the window. We asked for a test drive &was informed that the car was low on gas.Abu (salesman) asked if we wanted to wait while he got gas or get gas during our test drive. The vehicle ran out of gas leaving us stranded on a busy thoroughfare! Luckily, we had only made it to the traffic light by the dealership.

Outstanding Customer Service

I came all the way from Florida to buy my car from DarCars. The gave me the best price and all around experience and their communication was amazing. The buying process was so simple and easy and I was on my way home to Florida within an hour of arriving at the dealership. The team there was extremely nice and full of information. I wish all dealers were like these guys.
