Smart Hyundai

So I tried buying a Tucson from Crain Hyundai in North Little Rock, they told me it would be $5,000 OVER MSRP. I called Smart and they were only $996 over and that was for a package of items I actually wanted to purchase anyway. So I was pleased. They made the process super easy process and they even delivered it to me after their work hours! I cannot recommend them enough. Thanks to the team that helped me!

If we could give this dealership zero stars we would. Pros: Nice clean place, everyone we encountered were friendly and there was no sales pressure. Cons: They aren’t interested in selling vehicles or negotiating, only in trying to gouge the uninformed apparently. There are concerns about the competency of the service department. Sales: We stopped by this place on a Saturday evening to look at a vehicle and get some information. Returned Monday evening and attempted to make a deal, but they wanted full MSRP for their vehicle and offered an insulting lowball figure for our trade. After additional thorough research I called the following day and talked to both the salesman and finance manager to see if they were willing to come up on their trade offer as I knew they were at least $3k too low. They declined and told me I was wrong. When I explained that we had an offer on the table with another dealer for the same exact vehicle except they were offering $4k more for our trade, the finance manager told me “then you should go take that offer”. I’ve purchased close to 30 cars over the years and I’ve never encountered a dealer that refused to negotiate or told me to go take a deal at another dealership. Apparently, they think they are selling a Ferrari or a McLaren rather than Hyundai. Two days later, we do in fact go the other dealer that we had a deal on the table with and purchase the same vehicle. They offered us $4k more for our trade so we saved that plus the taxes on the difference. Interestingly, the following day the salesman from Smart called us asking if we’re “still interested in the vehicle”. He hung up on us after we told him “yeah, so interested we bought one yesterday” Service: Even though we didn’t buy from Smart, I was content in using their service department for the free maintenance that comes with the vehicle we bought elsewhere. Unfortunately, I was warned by a neighbor to avoid that part of the dealership as well. When I asked why, he showed me his Hyundai Blue link app showing that his Tucson had a recall for the antilocking brake system. However when he took it to the Smart service department, they were quite rude and told him he was wrong and there was no recall on his vehicle, even though he literally showed them the phone and the app displaying the recall alert. I wrote down his VIN and entered it at the nhsta.gov website where I can confirm that there is an actual recall for the antilock brakes on his vehicle. He also told me that although he bought his Tucson from Smart, he would never do business with them again. In summary, Smart Hyundai doesn’t seem to be particularly interested in selling vehicles, not with a deal that resembles anything close to a good buy for the customer anyway. If their service department can’t figure out if you have a recall or not, they probably aren’t competent enough to work on your vehicle either. The only thing “Smart” about Smart Hyundai is that you would be smart to avoid this dealership at all costs

Excellent inventory and great salesmen. They know their cars from top to bottom. I highly recommend Smart Hyundai to anyone that is looking to buy a new car.

The blue color caught the eye of my wife and I. We went bak on a Monday to talk about the vehicle. The sales manager offered the vehicle to drive for the day. We went back on Tuesday and made the sale complete.
