I purchased a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe less than two weeks...

I purchased a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe less than two weeks ago. Before the first week was out the check engine light came on. When I notified the car dealer his comment was "Oh No!" I purchased the warranty so I have that piece of mind. However, I should not have to repair a car I've barely driven. I feel I was miss lead by the dealer and will never buy a car from any Drive Appeal again. This a good example of why people do not trust used car dealers.

Nightmare

I have been having severe issues with my vehicle since I bought it in April, 2019. 3 weeks after my initial purchase (GMC 97,000 mi), my engine light came on. I was told that it was a "stored sensor" AFTER I had Autozone rule out that it is in fact my catalytic converter ($900). Mike Ogorman told me that he recommended I put premium gas in it to try to 'unclog' the emissions and then reset my dash. A couple of weeks later I found out that my A/C compressor was completely blown and needed to replaced. Luckily, AC Motors took care of the cost ($900) which I would have had to pay for out of pocket. Since having my compressor replaced, I have an ongoing ticking sound that won't shut off when my air conditioning is on. Around September, my stabilizer links went out so I ended up taking my car in to Midas and found out more negative information...not only does my catalytic converter( both sides equaling about $1800 out of pocket), my stabilizer links are shot, and my power steering has a hole in the pressure hose. Recently, my transmission switches gears in the middle of me driving, causing my drivetrain to mess up and the car to jolt which is extremely dangerous. My car will at times go all the way up to 7,000 RPM's which easily will cause my transmission to blow. About a month or so ago, my sunroof button stopped working and now my sunroof won't close, and living in Minnesota, my car gets extremely cold now with freezing water damage. I have made NUMEROUS attempts to get my vehicle fixed for months now (I have email proof between myself and Kelly) with the excuse that they don't have any rentals available, or that they are over booked. No one EVER calls back, I have left multiple messages with Tony and Connor at the New Hope location to get my vehicle fixed. I will NOT be getting my car serviced with you and you have lost my trust. Words cannot explain the frustration I have experienced in the past 8 months with this vehicle and has by far been the WORST buying experience I have ever had. Your dealership sells lemons to people and cheats them out of their money. Do NOT buy your car from here!

AC Motors Sold a vehicle with major issues

The vehicle we purchased from AC Motors had no heat driving away on a zero degree day. Since the dealership had closed we contacted them in the morning. We were told that the heat would be covered by the warranty and it would be no problem to fix. The suspension light came on, and a week later the power steering went out. AC Motors repaired the power steering (they claimed the warranty covered it), we were required to pay for a shock(? obviously wear and tear we did not create in less than a week), and the heat remained unfixed. We used the vehicle for a planned trip and was to have AC Motors repair the heat after the trip. During the trip a caliper bolt snapped and bore a hole the entire diameter of the rim puncturing the tire. We then needed to replace the rim and four tires. This could have been fatal for my family, at high speeds on the interstate. I was told by the repairman that this would have been found if the truck had undergone an inspection before the sale. We returned to have the heat repaired by AC Motors, which were slow to communicate. Our confidence started fading in their ability to provide a safe vehicle and service of the vehicle. We decided to take the vehicle to a dealership we could trust to fix the heat. We were told the heat could be repaired under the warranty, a lie. Also the dealer found that someone had attempted to repair the heat cracked the dash in two places, failed to fix the heat, and put a fake dash on top of it to conceal the problem. Since our purchase in March of 2019, a little over one month, from AC Motors we have acquired nearly $5000 in repairs. Please do not buy from this business, they could sell you a vehicle with extremely expensive, devastating, repairs or an vehicle that was not put through an inspection that could harm you or your love ones.

Dealer response

Thanks so much for your review. We are very sorry that you were not happy with your experience with us. That is definitely not our intent or the typical situation. In regards to inspecting vehicles, we can assure you that every vehicle that we sell has undergone a thorough inspection and any necessary repairs have been performed, especially anything having to do with the safety of the vehicle. We also record and track each vehicle's inspection and subsequent repairs, and your vehicle was no exception. We (nor any other dealer) can restore the vehicle to its new condition, but we do restore the vehicle to a safe condition. It is never our intent to sell a vehicle that is unsafe. On a vehicle like your 2009 Yukon XL with over 120,000 miles, there is always a chance of experiencing unforeseen issues like the heating unit malfunctioning. Although your heat was not working properly in terms of where in the vehicle the warm air was directed, you did have heat in the vehicle when you drove it home. We certainly were prepared and planned on working to resolve that issue for you at no charge. As for the other "nearly $5,000" in repairs that you referenced in your review, without knowing the specifics, we cannot be sure if those repairs were covered by the warranty or not. However, we would expect that at least some of them should have been covered. Any ASE certified repair shop in the country would honor your warranty and would have been happy to do your repairs. If you would like a listing of ASE certified shops that will service your warranty, we would be happy to supply you with one. Again, thank you for your review. We are regretful that your experience was not more positive, but still appreciate the feedback. It helps us get better and ensures that we are communicating as best possible with our current and future customers.

Highly recommend, no pressure!

Mike and Dawson were very helpful and friendly, even though we didn't purchase this time we will go back and recommend others to AC Motors.

Mike was Great to work with very professional!!

We worked with Mike online at first finding the car, as we live in Northern MN. He was very informative from the start and willing to make the purchase work for us. When we came down to pick up the car, Mike met us in Zimmerman as we had a long drive South and that was very nice. We had a small mechanical issue with the car and Mike was right on it and took care of it for us at no cost to us. Our Experience was an A+ for sure. I highly recommend this AC Motors Dealership in Anoka.. and Mike Ogorman was great to work with.... you can tell he has been doing this for many years!
