Vicente the floor manger was also very caring, and helpful with my contract. They treated me like FAMILY.. Great Service

North County Kia- Best of the Best
I bought my 2016 Kia Sorento from North County Kia 4.5 years ago which has turned out to be the most reliable and easiest car to own and drive. Service needs have been minimal or routine but when I have had it serviced, the service advisors (Robert and Victor) have been outstanding. Best car and service I've had in six decades of owning cars.

I wish I never shopped at North County Kia!
I was in the market for a slightly used vehicle. After much decision I found the perfect one at North County Kia. I went in and bought the Sportage and I love it. Whats really lacking at this dealer is customer service. I was hesitant shopping at a dealer with all the bad things I hear in general. I drove my rental there and purchased the Kia the same day. I said I would come back next day to pick up rental. Christina offered (she offered not me) to provide a Lyft as a courtesy. I thought that was really nice. But when I called Christina to get that Lyft ride, no timely response (remember they already got MY money) she said she would send one for me. I could have gotten one myself but hey, SHE offered to provide one. Well no Lyft showed up after and hour and a half. Christina was already off work. Probably enjoying time at home with HER family, while Im running around like a fool. It caused me to be late another day on rental plus 2 hrs from work. Thats $66 of my time. I called the dealer and told them I would be on the way to collect that sine they are offering me that Lyft.... Heres some advice dealer.... DO NOT OFFER CUSTOMER RIDE IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO FOLLOW THROUGH. *After realizing no one was going to show up, I called my own Lyft it took 4 minutes. Four! I spent 24k here. I regret it. Worst decision I ever made. Christina flat out told me they werent gonna pay me. Remember..they already got MY money. *note: one guy writing up my contract said their service charges $125 an hr. I guess I'm worthless as a customer and my time is also worthless. After this vehicle I honestly never want to own one again if i have to be treated this way. Congratulations North Kounty Kia...you made the sale! Another note: It is the perfect vehicle, but during the sales process there was no enthusiasm for sale by the dealer. Dont make the same mistake I did by giving these people your business. I drove in pouring rain to shop local. Wow what I fool I am

Inexperienced service technicians.
I brought my 2017 KIA Sportage in for transmission service. It makes a loud knocking noise in 4th gear going up hill ie.. the grapevine I-5 (underload). The service department explained they could not duplicate the problem. They did a test drive and used the on ramp next to the dealership as the up hill grade. That is obviously not the same as climbing over a 4000 ft grade. I was told that there was nothing they could do since there were no high mountains in the area unless I agreed to have one of the technicians take the car home that evening because he lived in Valley Center and there is a steeper grade in that area. I have never heard of a dealership mechanic driving a customers car off hours especially taking it home over night. I cannot express how disappointed I am in the treatment I received from this service department. Debi

The buying process is painless, but long. Most of the time the service department gets things right. Once in a while it is hit or miss.

Unethical Practices
Everything was going smooth until Eric - salesman and Tommy- sales manager attempted to add some undisclosed monetary additions to the vehicles price. We go to the finance office with Mike and he hands us a couple agreement forms that were increasing the vehicles price by about $800. We informed Mike that we had neither discussed nor agreed to these “add ons”. His answer was, “well only the sales manager can remove them”. So it appears that sales manager “Tommy” can decide to add products/ services to be included in the vehicles price without telling you. We asked Mike to remove those costs from the contract, which he did after much hesitation and brief call to Tommy. If shopping for a vehicle at North County Kia, be on the look out for shady practices.

Kia Niro EX Premium Plug-in Hybrid
I had decided to purchase a 2018 Kia Niro plug-in hybrid. I called my Credit Union and received an out the door price from another dealer when one came in. This dealer like every other dealer in the southland did not have one in stock. Kia of Escondido called me to say that they just received the car and we agreed upon the credit union price. I drove with my wife and daughter 75 miles the next morning met the salesman, looked at the car and said we want it. Then we go inside and he brings the price out for $3,000.00 more than we agreed upon. His reason was that the vehicle had Lojak. I was not surprised by this tactic and I said this is the agreed upon price my credit union had for an out the door cash offer. He came back after visiting his manager and offered $750.00 over the agreed price and asked if I was going to leave over $750.00. Now I?m ready to leave and said that if he can?t honor our agreed upon price I will purchase the vehicle from another dealer when they receive one in a week to 10 days. When he comes back from his sales manager he agreed to the price , I thought. Then we wait for ninety minutes to get into an office and do the paperwork with the paperwork guy. After filling out the paperwork I go to fill out the check for the vehicle and he informs me I have to finance the vehicle to get this price and they will use the $750.00 Rebate as a down payment. He then says Whenever Kia finance sends me the loan information I have to call the phone number and get the payoff amount that should be our agreed price and then I can write a check to pay off the vehicle. I?m Three hours in on this deal and agree to this which I?m kicking myself all the way home for agreeing when this was supposed to be a check and were done today. I ask about prepayment penalties and he assured me that I will only have to pay what we agreed to on the sales price. We then go to get the vehicle and find out how to pair the phone and UVO but our salesman has no idea how to do this. He says another person will help us. Well she?s on a test drive so I ask the sales manager and he says we?re really busy and nobody is available but all the information is in the owners manual. I?m so shocked I walk out to the parking lot and waited another 30 minutes to get the phone set up. What a terrible dealership, no customer service. It took 5 hours and thirty minutes after we said we want it and the price was pre arranged. Ridiculous, but I guess that is what you can expect from Kia Sales Staff.

KIA Experience Helped Make New Car Buy Smooth
Good experience at KIA dealership. Found car online and talked through email to make process quicker. Did like their online finance application to help move process along as well. Did have to work through another salesman due to one we talked to had to leave. But overall good experience.
