Michael advertised a vehicle on FB Marketplace, when I contacted him, he asked me if I had any luxury vehicle before and asked me to send drivers license, which I sent. he asked me to come to dealership to see it in person, I reached there within 45 minutes, once I reached there he said sorry it’s sold. Why would you waste someone’s time, ask your manager before calling clients to your dealership. It’s rude and unprofessional, I will not recommend this sales guy or store who don’t respect other people’s time.

I am sharing my experience publicly now as I have exhausted all formal channels without resolution, despite all my good faith efforts. If only I had seen the many other negative reviews before — several customers experienced similar issues, but mine was the most extreme case of abuse of trust and power. The business is not even accredited by the BBB and has already complaints left unaswered. On January 11, 2025, I test-drove, and on January 15, I purchased a “Certified” Mazda3 GS from Ken Shaw Toyota (2336 St Clair Ave W, Toronto, ON M6N 1K8). The vehicle was delivered with a Safety Standards Certificate (SSC). The salesperson, Manpreet Kaur, reassured me personally that the vehicle was fully certified and safe. I trusted that expertise — as a newcomer female unfamiliar with the mechanics — only to discover later that the car was, in fact, sold 'as-is' and unfit with undisclosed mechanical defects. Within weeks, multiple dangerous issues surfaced. An independent inspection (requested by the MTO) confirmed the vehicle was not roadworthy and could not receive a valid SSC. Despite this, the vehicle had been advertised and sold as certified. I attempted to resolve this through all possible agencies OMVIC, MTO, Consumer Protection Ontario, my MPP’s office, the Ontario Ombudsman, and legal aid. Despite acting in good faith and even requesting cancellation within 30 days, the dealership used delay tactics, threats, and blame-shifting — never once offering a safe or legal return option. At one point, they falsely claimed I refused to return the car — yet never provided a safe or lawful solution. Driving a dangerous, uncertified car was not an option, especially given the findings of the independent garage and the MTO’s own request for inspection. Even after all of this, the dealership pressured my bank to reverse a refund request based on proof of misrepresentation. Their lawyer has since sent repeated emails that deflect responsibility and attempt to intimidate me, despite my clear efforts to resolve this through proper channels. I was clear from the start that I was a female newcomer, a first-time buyer, and not a mechanic. I relied entirely on their certification and integrity. Today, I am left unemployed, covering the storage cost of a dangerous car, while they operate without consequences and continue their business as if nothing happened. I am now preparing legal action to seek a full refund and compensation for the damage caused. This experience has been emotionally and financially devastating with no humanity or fairness. I trusted this dealership and was met with unfair treatment and discriminatory disregard for my safety and rights. OMVIC, Consumer Protection Ontario, and other agencies must take action against dealerships that abuse power and mislead vulnerable buyers — especially newcomers and women. Buyers! Please do your research before trusting this dealership Ken Shaw Toyota with your safety, your money, or your trust. You are only an added transaction.

When negotiations fell apart at my local dealership in Winnipeg, I set my sights on Ken Shaw Lexus; 2100 kms away. Ken Shaw Motors Ltd. was well-reviewed and had a long and storied track record with the Toyota & Lexus brands. I specifically chose Raymond Kan due to his 30+ years of Lexus experience. One of the best decisions I've made buying my NX 350 F-Sport 3 here. Truly outstanding service provided by Mr. Kan!! No hidden charges, unnecessary dealer add-ons or shenanigans to speak of. He is of the highest character and moral integrity, founded on ethical selling practices. He's licensed in ethics too! He went above and beyond the call of duty every step of the way. I was well-taken care of through every step of the buying process. Raymond handled everything from sales, coordinating financing with TCCI, secure wire transfer, permits/licensing, assisting with the transporter and providing documentation for Manitoba Public Insurance. Always quick to respond, Mr. Kan is very sharp in anticipating inter-provincial bottlenecks, and is efficient in providing the best solution. Raymond is passionate about the Lexus brand having personally owned numerous Lexii. He fully understands the Lexus value proposition and is a true professional. He truly cares about the customer and positive entry into the Lexus brand and spent hours with me (after the sale) providing knowledge transfer on Lexus design, safety and tech features of the NX. I flew into Toronto for 2 days, taking delivery on day 1, then shipping the car off w/ Raymond straight from the dealership on day 2. The car will arrive in Winnipeg in 2 weeks. I'm extremely happy to join the Lexus and Ken Shaw Motors Ltd. family. I'll travel another 2100 kms to import another Lexus from Raymond and Ken Shaw Lexus. You are both the Gold-standard! Worst customer service from this manager. He commented that he doesn't care about the online reviews about him and Ken Shaw Lexus. He did not even listen to what I was trying to explain and request. He just listened to his employee and made one statement that he could not help and was trying to walk away from the conversation by saying that if you are raising your voice, the conversation is ending now. I did not even raise my voice at all. I was just trying to explain what I was looking for. I would never recommend dealing with this manager again.

Anwar was the Business Manager that did the lease agreement and arranged the approval from Toyota Credit. He approved my Lease while I was in the dealership on the first day that I made the deal with my sales rep, Raphael. He was a very knowledgeable with the financing/leasing terms and explained everything thoroughly without rushing.
