I would NOT recommend Tim Dahle Nissan in Bountiful. If you must go, document EVERYTHING in writing, screenshot all communications, and be prepared for pushback. Beware—they do not stand behind their work. I brought my 2015 Nissan Armada to Tim Dahle Nissan in Bountiful for an ECM replacement. The repair was very expensive and took several weeks. Upon picking it up the first time, the heater wasn't working on the short drive home—something that functioned perfectly when I dropped it off. I called the next day, pointing out it likely got disconnected during the repair. After back-and-forth, they quoted ~$400 for the heater control valve. Escalation to corporate took days, and they offered to cover half of an $800 repair (suddenly the quote doubled). I had a screenshot of the original $400 estimate and showed it to them—miraculously, they then agreed to cover the valve repair for free. Picked it up the second time, tested full heat on the 2-mile drive home—it seemed fixed. A few days later on a trip to California, new issues emerged that were never present before: Heater only hot at max 90° (cold air at 84° or lower)—classic blend door actuator disturbance from dash work. A/C no longer blows cold (discovered in CA warm weather; would've been unknown in Utah winter). Strong exhaust smell at idle/stop lights. These clearly tie to the ECM/dash/under-hood work performed. When I contacted them, they dismissed it saying I "should have brought it in before leaving" and refused any assistance. Grateful they eventually covered the valve (after pressure), but deeply disappointed in the lack of accountability for obvious post-repair problems and the quote-doubling tactic. It feels dishonest. I would NOT recommend Tim Dahle Nissan in Bountiful. If you must go, document EVERYTHING in writing, screenshot all communications, and be prepared for pushback. Tom, thank you for taking the time to express your concerns. Unfortunately, due to the lack of information, we are unable to pull up a record of repairs for you. Additionally, Sebastian Stratmann no longer works for us and hasn't for quite some time. We are more than happy to attempt working out a solution with you. Please take a moment to reach out to our service center at (385)324-3663 and we would be more than happy to assist you!

Bought a used 2024 Nissan from the dealership. It was dark when we closed the deal. The next morning we found car had a cracked taillight. Despite the fact that we had minutes before had the dealership put in a new battery in our trade-in (we hadn’t planned on buying a new car), the dealership refused to replace the taillight. The light alone was $450. Do not trust them. Buy elsewhere.

Dealer response

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry for the frustration this situation caused. At the time of purchase, the vehicle had no documented or visible taillight damage during inspection or delivery. While we were unable to fully cover the replacement, our Service team was happy to help by installing the new taillight at no charge for labor as a courtesy, with only the cost of the part being your responsibility. Our understanding was that the concern had been resolved at the time of your visit. We appreciate your business and wish you the best moving forward.

Consumer response

After once again, publicly questioning my integrity and honesty by claiming "the vehicle had no documented or visible taillight damage during inspection or delivery," the dealership called and informed me that (oops!) they had delivered to me the wrong the vehicle! They were correct that the right car had no damage and promised to reimburse me for the part I had to pay for on the car with the broken taillight. In spite of how they treated us and the hours we spent in the dealership getting the wrong car fixed, the only compensation they offered was an insincere apology. And that apology didn't come from the used car manager, Cardon Malan, but from the sales person. Malan was no where to be seen. Like I said before: Do not trust them. Buy elsewhere. Having said that, if you have a Nissan, and it needs servicing, the dealership's service department is second to none. If you want your car serviced by a great group of people, Tim Dahle Bountiful is the place to go. I'm baffled how one side of the business can have such lousy customer service and the other side have such wonderful customer service.

Haroon was great! He worked with me over the phone about the price and condition. Since I live 4 hours away I wanted to make sure the vehicle was solid and it was exactly how Haroon described it. Honest and friendly service.

If you want a dealership that can turn a simple car purchase into a full-blown hostage situation, Tim Dahle Nissan of Bountiful is the place. The only good thing? The waiting room music. If they sold cars with the same talent they pick playlists, this review wouldn’t exist. The Tiguan was advertised (and priced) as a 7-seater. Reality: five seats, with zero interest in adjusting the price. The brakes shuddered like the car was begging for help, and I made it clear: fix them or no deal. Then came the “included perks” that weren’t included at all. They tried sneaking in $2,000 for a “lifetime battery” and “dynamic brake lights,” plus another $2,300 for a “worry-free guarantee” no one could explain. On a 2022 with 22k miles. Stunning. Six hours later, we agreed on a deal with brake repair in writing. They delivered the car filthy—dog hair, dirty upholstery, streaky windows—and the brakes were still terrible. Their tech supposedly found “no issues,” which was adorable considering nothing had been done. I got a third-party inspection proving otherwise; they preferred trusting their imaginary brake inspection. Fast-forward through three 2-hour round trips. The tech finally rode along and immediately confirmed warped rotors. Cue hours of excuses before they finally approved new rear rotors/pads and refacing the fronts. Meanwhile, the “1.5-hour” detail hadn’t happened after five hours of waiting. By the end, I’d spent 18 hours at this circus. And the grand finale: after repairs, the shuddering was gone—but the brake pedal went to the floor. Their techs somehow introduced air into the brake system. I returned the car again, got a loaner, and the next morning they called to say they had “nothing to do with it” and wanted $200 to bleed the brakes. Yes, they want me to pay to fix the problem they created. I’m now waiting on management to approve the bleed at no cost, because paying for their incompetence is not happening. The car itself? Great. This dealership? A full-scale carnival of incompetence—upsells disguised as freebies, zero accountability, awful communication, and an impressive commitment to wasting your time. Read the reviews I wish I had read… and go absolutely anywhere else.

This dealership knew full well that we were on an extremely limited budget as my husband is a disabled veteran, and our only other car had been totaled. They took every dime plus some of what we had, including all of our savings and sold me something that needs about $7000 worth of parts and another $2000-$3000 worth of labor into it and completely screwed my family over never buy from the dealership.

Dealer response

Janalee, we’re very sorry to hear about your situation and understand how frustrating this must be. We’ve reached out several times by phone and text to try to help resolve this with you. The vehicle you purchased was sold “as is,” and we made sure to explain that it hadn’t gone through our shop before purchase. Even so, we’re still willing to see what we can do to help — but we need to be able to communicate with you directly. Please give us a call at 801-693-7100 so we can discuss your options.

Dealer response

Janalee, if you are willing, we are more than happy to set up a meeting with our finance manager in order to dissipate this lasting confusion. Please reach out to (801)693-7100 as soon as is convenient for you.

Consumer response

Never once was anything mentioned about having not gone through your shop. In fact all you said was it needs injectors which makes one think you’ve already done diagnostics on it especially since you sold the vehicle with a box of six injectors. After having gone to other shops to diagnose actual problem it has a bent valve which means either major tear down repairs costing around 11000 with all the hours required or a full replacement engine costing about 16000 for full replacement. What you sold me is a vehicle that I can never register unless I chose one of those two options for repair which is completely impossible. You sold me a worthless car that would cost more than twice what I paid to repair it.

$230 to diagnose issue. solution replace battery $500 for a (^*& Battery. Why so much? reply "batteries are expensive". They didn't even address the other issue they were supposed to diagnose AND CHARGED $90 for that. Then their Debit card machine wouldn't work and I had to use my visa, cost an addition $12. (my card worked fine after that at another store. WILL NEVER do business here again. Also called around to other DEALERS for same service only $310.

It took a while to find the right car for me. But I can say that everyone i worked with was very nice and in the end I'm very happy with the car I purchased. I would give 5 stars but supposedly there was a "typo" on the contract and I didn't receive full credit for my "trade in". Ryan Solt promised me that he would personally cut me a check for the $500 "typo" and I still have not received it. You know the term.. Check is in the mail. Edit: I actually received the "check in the mail"!!!! I have bought several vehicles both new and used over the years. And although some things took a little time, I can say this is the first car dealership I've worked with that has kept there word on all of their promises. Amazing!!!

I’ve purchased multiple vehicles from Tim Dahle dealerships, but this last experience was deeply disappointing and left me questioning their integrity. I was told in writing that a critical repair had been completed before buying a used vehicle. That turned out to be false — the component was never replaced, and I had to pay for diagnostics and deal with numerous issues post-purchase. The advertised price was also changed the night before my visit without notice. I was pressured to accept a higher price in person after being told they couldn’t honor the original one — a classic bait-and-switch tactic that violates Utah’s Consumer Sales Practices Act. Additionally, I was not informed about a mandatory arbitration clause until I was in the finance office, after we’d already agreed on the price — a legally significant term that should have been disclosed upfront. It took weeks of persistent effort, legal research, and documentation to get the dealership to agree to partial reimbursement — something that never should have required this much back-and-forth. Based on this experience, I can’t recommend Tim Dahle dealerships and would caution others to read every detail carefully, verify every claim, and get any promises in writing — because you may not be able to trust what you’re told. (Or just go to any other dealership in the valley, you’re likely safer.)
